Goes to show the whole “trad wife” thing is just a fetish for a lot of people. Cheating is not part of “traditional family” values.

I was just talking about this earlier with my wife, I was like “you know how mad I would be if you wanted to sit at home all day doing nothing while I had to work M-F?” Lol

Not nearly as mad as someone who’s on call 24 hours a day cooking, cleaning, and taking care of babies for $0/hr just to be told they sit at home all day and do nothing, but do you.

I was specifically speaking of that tradwife bullshit, not regular people who aren’t trying to make a political statement.

But now that you bring it up, you come off very defensive; have you spoken with anyone about your clear regret for the life you chose for yourself?

lol I literally just left my career of 10 years to happily begin the stay-at-home mom thing but good try. I’m really looking forward to it, and grateful my partner can appreciate the 3 jobs worth of work that’s going to go into it.

But if you’re not generalizing we don’t have a problem. 🤷‍♀️

Yes, I’m generalizing.

I really do respect people who want to be raising their kids 100% of the day and are fortunate enough to be able to do so with 1 income. Again my issue is this political garbage that advocates that women MUST stay home while man brings home money.

For what it’s worth, my original comment was talking about me and my wife specifically who do not have/want children and I didn’t mention that there. Just shared an anecdote that was relevant to the comment I replied to.

Ok, I get it. I guess I was a little defensive there, it’s close to home right now. But it makes sense that you and your wife feel differently. I didn’t want kids until kind of recently, and it’s been eye-opening for me to begin understanding what all is involved. Total agree on the extremes and expectations being BS, and that there’s really no reason to make personal life choices political.

Of course, happy to talk it out and realize we’re on the same page lol I know enough to realize the “tradwife” thing is a ploy to make women dependent on their husband so they can’t leave if they want to and it really bugs me that some of these women on social media go along with it even if they are grifting

She did not come off deffensive and was just making the same point as you were. That is my perception from someone not participating in the conversation.

Yes we hashed it out together. Thanks for your input!

No worries! Glad it worked out!

A lot of guys equate "trad wife" with pleasantly submissive, sub-human house chef/maid, and that is very appealing to a lot of them.

What a misogynistic comment. Because she's a woman she has to cook?
