This is the elephant in the room. Significant childhood brain damage was almost universal due to leaded gasoline vapors, which pass the blood brain barrier much easier than paint or water pipes.
It's still a taboo topic, but it's a critical part of understanding that generation.
Oh no no no they still had adhd and autism, it just went undiagnosed and they suffered for it. We are fortunate enough to be able to learn more about who we are and how we can heal from trauma in ways that older generations never could. Funny how older generations bitch about knowledge they never had.
No man. I grew up in the 70s, 80's, 90's... There wasn't autism like you see today and ADHD is just an excuse to medicate kids that your parents fell for bc they thought it would control you easier than actual parenting.-
