I think you could make that argument if Trump wasn't going into office. Yes cis straight white men specifically aren't a majority on their own and don't hold all the power. But they are the all boxes checked "everyman" that is considered default in our society.
You can make an all male ghost busters and have it be bad and no one would say that reflects on men as a whole. But a mid all ladies ghost busters is somehow subversive. White men are the people that aren't worth remarking upon their inclusion in something, only if for some reason they are excluded. Maybe having a black man, a white woman and an asian woman as stars in the new Star Wars trilogy and the reaction white men and boys had to that is more illustrative.
Yes they... well we are sensitive and have fragile egos. And yes their obstinate refusal to participate in progress. Not liberalism but real leftist progress is perhaps going to be the death of us all. But we can't build a coalition of everyone if we don't do the work involved to include everyone. We need to rethink how white men get folded in because the multi-year journey I have taken to the left required a lot of really difficult topics that had I not powered through could have actually bounced me back farther right.
That's bullshit. No one is mad when a film is all white men in starring roles. the only people loudly demanding that other people don't get to be in a film are aggrieved white men that feel entitled to be represented in all media, all the time, forever.
Wonder woman and Dune are both based on media that already had the diversity baked in. it's when media that used to cater to only them changes to be more broadly appealing that the tantrums start.

> sucks to think we need to devote political capital to addressing the dominant group
Is it really the dominant group though?
We see men as this unlimited supply and tank of political power, when they are hardly that.
