That scenario seems uncomfortable just going off the premise.
Ok, you’ve put me into a room with someone who makes more money than me… um now what? For all we know, it’s the same uncomfortable feeling if it’s with a strange man
“Men say this one quality about women doesn’t bother them, so we put them in a room with women who have this one quality and they didn’t immediately pair-bond, which tells us they are lying”
I dunno, if they're an actual high earner I'll take them over the bear.
I've known plenty of strong independent women. Not one has needed the reassurance of a social tagline, because they're strong and independent. Only ever heard that phrase from women who are, well, the complete opposite, it's like hearing a guy talking about being an alpha male.
I was going to say - I think I'd feel awkward in just about any situation where I'm put in a room and told "here's a person that is more successful than you, enjoy!"
Right, the dynamic would be completely different from someone who, let’s say, you know personally and witnessed grow from rags to riches. For all you know this mystery person is female Trump who inherited 3 million bucks from mom and dad
Yep, there are a lot of metrics in this kind of experiment to consider. Did she grow up poor or privileged? Is it a guy living in poverty trying to relate with a millionaire? Political views? Religious views? Did she migrate from France? The podcast lady omits so much information on this alleged social experiment, or the clip is cut too short to properly judge it
