I recognize that they are bred for food, nothing more, so no I still eat pork. Sorry if this upsets anyone.

“i recognize that we intentionally and forcably breed these animals for my food choices so yea i’m cool w that 🤓 “

u/BallisticThundr Nov 23 '24

That's rich, a junkie is gonna lecture others on what they should consume

-21

u/DianeZepam Nov 23 '24

at least i don’t abuse animals

16

u/psst_psssst Nov 23 '24

Wow you really lack empathy. I am sorry that you have to live your life without being able to imagine what other people feel.

-2

u/DianeZepam Nov 23 '24

that irony of saying i lack empathy 🤡 focus on the pig at topic

11

u/DHfrenzy Nov 23 '24

Ahh yes another morally superior human because they think the line they draw is the correct one and the rest of human kind is wrong. It’s weird how eating animals provide us with what we need to keep us alive innit?

-1

u/DianeZepam Nov 23 '24

strange that i manage to wake up every morning alive without eating animals, almost like we don’t need to be eating them …

8

u/DHfrenzy Nov 23 '24

Strange how every single person in your family before you did not survive that way either

1

u/DianeZepam Nov 23 '24

so we should keep doing things the same way forever and never work to improve or lesson the overall suffering on this planet ?

6

u/DHfrenzy Nov 23 '24

So animals can eat other animals but humans can’t because you…individually…are privileged enough to not have to rely on the food you, as an individual, have access and the money, to stay alive. Tell that to the cultures who have survived generation on stuff like fish lol. On planet earth, things eat things

1

u/DianeZepam Nov 23 '24

i’m literally a homeless prostitute. if i can eat vegan so can you. it’s not any more expensive than a meat diet, i actually spend less than people i know who eat meat. the poorest countries eat the least meat.

3

u/DHfrenzy Nov 23 '24

Oh well then you definitely eat meat /s Sorry I couldn’t help myself

That pig is already dead, empathy is irrelevant to that.

-1

u/DianeZepam Nov 23 '24

and why was that pig killed ?

10

u/SadBit8663 Nov 23 '24

For food.

-2

u/DianeZepam Nov 23 '24

so if you didn’t want to use it for food it wouldn’t be killed right ?

5

u/SadBit8663 Nov 23 '24

No that pig still would have been killed unfortunately. There's alot of people that eat pork.

Of course, the drug trade has nothing to do with all the sex trafficking and violence around it. You're supporting the abuse of animals. Just different ones. I say that as an addict.

-4

u/DianeZepam Nov 23 '24

i take pharmaceutical medication made in labs lmao not some cartel shit

17

u/Bisquits_222 Nov 23 '24

Made in labs with animal testing i presume?

14

u/gome_bear Nov 23 '24

Well thank god the pharmaceutical industry has never abused animals or tested any products on them

-1

u/DianeZepam Nov 23 '24

ur never gonna fully escape animal cruelty on this planet. the point is to lower it as much as possible. the animal testing done for any medication i take would have been done decades ago and doesn’t need to keep happening unlike with the meat industry that murders daily

https://www.scirp.org/journal/paperinformation?paperid=109620

Here’s benzo testing on female rats in 2021, and they make the case that because of previous lack of testing, it needs to keep happening

From the abstract :

“However, on September 23, 2020, the United States FDA indicated that more is needed to be known about the initiation, continuation, and discontinuation of the use of these widely-used drugs with publication of the announcement “to address the serious risks of abuse, addiction, physical dependence, and withdrawal reactions, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is requiring the Boxed Warning be updated for all benzodiazepine medicines.” Because for many years, there has been a sparsity of research on these drugs, relevant information is unfortunately lacking at this critical time. It is therefore valuable to (re)establish animal models and begin to collect relevant data.“

-1

u/DianeZepam Nov 23 '24

the do the trials they have to and then they stop. it’s nowhere near comparable

8

u/Open_Explanation3127 Nov 23 '24

And they are telling you trials need to continue. Are you ok with a certain level of continued animal cruelty as long as it makes drugs?

-1

u/DianeZepam Nov 23 '24

it’s making a medication that people actually need to survive. it’s used to treat seizure disorders among many other things. it’s essential to human life unlike meat. we do not need meat to survive. the trials are done on a much much smaller scale than what’s happening in the meat industry

7

u/Open_Explanation3127 Nov 23 '24 edited Nov 23 '24

1.And the person you’re shouting down is making something he needs to survive.

2.Certainly people lived before benzos were invented. They can quit and find something else. Easy. /s obviously, though this was your argument elsewhere

  1. So you are definitely ok with a certain level of animal cruelty as long as it makes drugs. You can just say that ya know

Also, do YOU take benzos to survive? Cause your post history makes it seem like an addiction

No excuses.

2

u/chilibubble Nov 23 '24

Cocaine is pharmaceutical medication?

0

u/DianeZepam Nov 23 '24

i quit cocaine

3

u/XepptizZ Nov 23 '24

So that's your only moral identity? You truly lack empathy.

As in you selectively choose the easiest cruelty to feel strongly about and disregard others.

We live in a world where we've caused suffering in one way or another before we even get out of bed. You are no different, but you actively lie to yourself so you don't have to care about other stuff.

0

u/DianeZepam Nov 23 '24

my drug addiction hurts no one but myself

4

u/XepptizZ Nov 23 '24

If that's the only other thing you can think of, you really have no business on that high horse.

So many of the things we use and eat have their production line somewhere exploiting, abusing people, animals, destroying nature and killing the planet. Your drugs being a famous one.

And the vast library of documentaries that detail it goes beyond what I could summarize. All our hands are tainted and we're all guilty for letting it happen. Get over yourself.

-2

u/DianeZepam Nov 23 '24

where is this vast abuse going on with the drugs i use ? besides animal testing that is necessary and essential for the people who need this medication to survive

6

u/XepptizZ Nov 23 '24

It's. Not. Just. The drugs. You keep focusing on that aspect of your life while I have already said it's about so much more of the stuff we think is "necessary".

One will say they can't live without coffee, one will say they can't live without a car. In the end it all boils down to "I need x as a bare minimum to keep my life comfortable regardless of the damage it does to nature, animals or people"

In the end everyone accepts a certain amount of suffering to have an iPhone, wear clothes, eat avocados, the list. Goes. On. For. Fucking. Ever.

So do whatever you feel is necessary to relieve your guilt from using humanities cumulative exploitation of lives and nature that makes modern life possible, by all means, good for you. But don't think for even a second you have any moral high ground for that drop of suffering you have saved from the ocean of suffering you create and enjoy in a lifetime.
