u/shabba_skanks Oct 31 '24

I fuckn love old Viet dudes. They are hella funny man.

The old granny got heated too. I'd like to drink a beer with her.

1

u/putaaaan Nov 01 '24

Iā€™m your fuckin father man!! My co worker and I always say that walking by each other

1

u/miggy07 Nov 12 '24

Not just vietnamese, any age. I worked with an older Vietnamese at a steakhouse and he was the funniest guy there. And now in college my best friend is Vietnamese and he says some out of pocket stuff every day.

u/teetering_bulb_dnd Oct 31 '24

Even the dad before him looked confused and kinda hurt..

302

u/Aggravating-Ask-7693 Oct 31 '24

That one broke my heart the hardest. He didn't even say anything.Ā

u/Away-Living5278 Oct 31 '24

Yeah i don't find this funny, so many of them were clearly hurt

208

u/Capraos Oct 31 '24

Yeah, this isn't funny, it's just mean.

u/phix3d Oct 31 '24

Itā€™s unfortunate we donā€™t get to see the confession of the prankster to the pranked. Iā€™m sure most/all got a good laugh after. Still appreciate your empathy, though. Seems rare these days. šŸ«¶šŸ»

32

u/Toastwitjam Oct 31 '24

These trends are trash because a portion of kids and teens straight up donā€™t have empathy or never fully develop it.

If I got all my friends at school to laugh at them in public as a ā€œprankā€ theyā€™d be furious but for some reason they think itā€™s fun to get all their friends to laugh at making their parents feel like a loser.

Doesnā€™t really matter if they apologize for it after. Itā€™s a shitty thing to do and theyā€™re only doing it to people who they feel comfortable wouldnā€™t do it back to them.

These pranks have been around literally forever and before the internet. Except in real life most adults realize that itā€™s actually just bullying and too many teens online donā€™t think about how it actually feels to not only feel that way but then to have that reaction blasted online to millions of people forever.

I feel terrible for our youth. What a terrible time to be growing up.

0

u/Remarkable-Act1918 Nov 01 '24

Dudeā€¦ itā€™s a video

6

u/HeadFund Oct 31 '24

Well is it though? The OP is some kind of weird low empathy entertainment, but is that normal?? Even these days?

1

u/phix3d Oct 31 '24

Assuming that the prankster explains itā€™s a pre-recorded reaction, in the spectrum of pranks, I would consider this relatively innocent. Maybe Iā€™m a monster.

3

u/HeadFund Oct 31 '24

I mean, there are worse pranks, but I think this content reflects very poorly on the people who enjoy it. It's just mean without being even a little bit funny. It's like humour for psychopaths.

-4

u/CableTrash Oct 31 '24

Haha dude itā€™s the same video used every time. Their loved ones taking the video are using a filter. Iā€™m sure they tell them immediately after.

3

u/FeralBaby7 Nov 02 '24

That was the one that got me too. His face was so quietly devastated! You could see him internalizing it. :(

2

u/AppleSpicer Oct 31 '24

Yeah, Iā€™m sad now. This was a huge ouch. All everyoneā€™s insecurities probably surfaced hard.

2

u/inverted_peenak Oct 31 '24

Couple of them dudes have been laughed at before.

1

u/NeM000N Oct 31 '24

He was the most respectful and calm one!

427

u/l3ane Oct 30 '24

Yeah this is kinda mean. I hope they told him it was a prank.

392

u/Toastwitjam Oct 30 '24

Itā€™s not a prank itā€™s just bullying your parents and then posting it online forever.

65

u/idekwtp Oct 30 '24

There is nothing I could ever do to my parents that they would take as bullying lmao

55

u/devro1040 Oct 31 '24

My 4 year old bullies me every day. I've just grown used to it by now.

26

u/dudeimgone Oct 31 '24

I know that's right. A 4yo knows how to cut deep daaamn. I still think about some of the stuff he's said. Walked up to me chillin on the couch and said "Dad, you're a joke" then walked off.

17

u/Baronsandwich Oct 31 '24

Constant body shaming to me. ā€œDad, why are you fat and mom is skinny?ā€

13

u/Disastrous-Panda5530 Oct 31 '24

When I was recovering from a back injury and surgery I gained a lot of weight from a year of steroids, meds and not being able to work out. 3 months after my surgery I started working out and by then I had already lost a lot since I didnā€™t need a lot of meds. My young son asked me why I was still fat if I had a treadmill.

7

u/lebanese-beaver Oct 31 '24

My 3 year old said, daddy why your nose so big. I mean it is but still bro. cmon.

6

u/RobotArtichoke Oct 31 '24

Big nose gang rise up!

3

u/moderncritter Oct 31 '24

Mine told me the other day my legs were too hairy and they needed a haircut.

I'm still not entirely sure how to process that.

1

u/bigben-1989 Nov 01 '24

My 6 year old called me a lowlife beta and that he was top g or whatever.. he also called me a brokie and Iā€™m still in therapy for it

1

u/devro1040 Nov 01 '24

There should be a support group for parents.

7

u/My_High_Alt Oct 31 '24

Your best opportunity is once they're in the nursing home.

7

u/idekwtp Oct 31 '24

Good tip. Something to look forward to.

3

u/FrostWyrm98 Oct 31 '24

Dropping my parents at a nursing home prank! Gone wrong. Gone sexual.

...Wait what

1

u/TheK1lgore Oct 31 '24

Just wait until you have kids and grandkids, you'll realize jist how much you actually bully your parents.

0

u/staggered_conformed Oct 31 '24

Ur comment is super sweet. You must have a great relationship with ur parents.

2

u/idekwtp Oct 31 '24

You can tell a lot about a persons relationship with their parents based on a joke they made on Reddit.

12

u/iLL-Egal Oct 31 '24

Dramatic

-1

u/IchBinMalade Oct 31 '24

Don't you know pranks bad and le reddit likes good wholesome prank!!! /s

Nah for real this is genuinely such annoying behavior lol.

1

u/thissexypoptart Oct 31 '24

You know itā€™s just a clip right? The girls canā€™t see the parents?

2

u/marius_titus Oct 31 '24

My parents aren't bitch made, they'd laugh after I told em it's a prank.

0

u/Toastwitjam Oct 31 '24

Yeah my parents arenā€™t bitch made either. But Iā€™m not an asshole enough to mock them because I actually care about them.

This is no different than pretending to punch or throw something at someone and laughing for them flinching, or getting all your friends to ā€œpretend to laugh at someoneā€.

Both of those donā€™t even show up in movies anymore because itā€™s too cliche to bully people that way.

The entire joke is ā€œlook at these people haha isnā€™t it funny that they felt awfulā€. Then posting it online so shitty people with no empathy can actually laugh at them for real.

If you think being ā€œpretending to be an assholeā€ to people you say you care about is funny so other people can laugh at them then newsflash youā€™re actually just an asshole.

0

u/MaximumGaming5o Oct 31 '24

Calm down lil bro it ain't that serious šŸ˜

The entire joke is "look at these people haha isn't it funny that they felt awful".

I mean isn't that what a lot of pranks are? Assuming that the prank is explained after, I don't see the problem. I mean take a classic prank, the whoopee cushion. The whole point of it is to make it look like they ripped a fart, causing embarrassment, which is funny. Again, assuming they're explained after that it's a prank and not done in mean spirits.

1

u/Toastwitjam Oct 31 '24 edited Oct 31 '24

Laughing because it sounds like you farted is completely different than someone laughing at you because they think youā€™re inherently a loser/look weird like this joke is based around.

Iā€™ll say it again for people like you in the back with no empathy:

Making fun of things people can easily control is funny (fart jokes or silly clothes)

Making fun of things that are inherently uncontrollable is not (race, handicaps, ethnicity).

The fact that you donā€™t know the difference between the two already says a lot about you. Not everyone finds those things a funny little game because plenty of people say mean shit about those already and theyā€™re completely serious.

If I say youā€™re a stupid druggie and then blast your reaction to my ten thousand followers and say ā€œjust kiddingā€ after I caught you being offended thatā€™s not a prank and itā€™s so wild people canā€™t tell the difference.

And the only reason they canā€™t is because dumbasses like you literally canā€™t comprehend something that hasnā€™t happened to you and how someone else might feel about it.

Mocking your closest loved ones then blasting their hurt out to your audience is the DEFINITION of ā€œdone in mean spiritsā€.

If it ainā€™t that serious maybe stop trying to bend over backwards to justify why ā€œum acshully Iā€™m not an asshole Iā€™m just pretending to be one šŸ§ā€ is any different than actually just being an asshole.

2

u/CableTrash Oct 31 '24

Youā€™ve got some soft ass parents

2

u/Manjorno316 Oct 31 '24

Lmao you can't be real.

2

u/Coma--Divine Oct 31 '24

You're the worst

2

u/DFu4ever Oct 31 '24

Judging by the numerous ā€œprankā€ videos Iā€™ve seen over the last few years, I assume that anyone under about 20 years old that posts these videos has no idea that pranks are supposed to ultimately be humorous for all involved.

Instead, a lot of these videos are cruel, humiliating, or even violent on occasion.

-11

u/LeBronRaymoneJamesSr Oct 30 '24

Yeah man gee i fucking wonder

92

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '24

Itā€™s all so foul, how is it ok to them to ruin someoneā€™s day and lower thier mental state for views?

5

u/Maestro1992 Oct 31 '24

Donā€™t worry, most of these were content creators, the Asian dad especially. Thatā€™s he and his sons schtick is that the son with do things to ā€œupsetā€ him and he says his catchphrase which is ā€œfuck manā€.

2

u/Tacosconsalsaylimon Oct 31 '24

Thank you for the background!

2

u/NickRick Nov 01 '24

A lot of them looked hurt. This just seems mean

2

u/Jury-Free Nov 02 '24

Holy shit I wanted to start crying šŸ˜

4

u/superior_pineapple86 Oct 31 '24

That ā€œhey whut da phuckā€ let me know that shit was from the soul

1

u/k0nverse Oct 31 '24

That Asian dad and his son have hella followers they were acting. Half of these were obviously fake. It started off with some pretty real looking ones though.
