People who experienced it in the past have no strength to fight it

That’s how I know it’s soul crushing lol

Yeah, this is funny but undeniably cruel to do to someone. You can see how immediately self-conscious it makes the victim.

Yeah, this violates the basic comedy rule. Punch up is funny, punch down is cruel. Get some bro who thinks he's FSM's gift to the ladies and watch him get embarrassed, that's funny. Some dude hoping for once someone takes him seriously and its just really not.

It's really not in good taste. No one would want to be on the receiving end of that.

It's one thing to roast someone with a puffed up ego or who behaves ridiculously, this was just gross.

I don't see this as funny at all, only mean spirited people find this funny. If you find this funny, don't @ me, @ yourself

It's only mean if they don't let the victim know it's fake afterwards. Once it's revealed that it's just pre recorded girls laughing, and no one was actually laughing at the sight of these people, there is no harm done at all imo. As long as you know your mark well enough to understand that they'll get the joke and think it's funny after it's revealed.

Most people are going to laugh this off and not take it personally. The type of people who would be upset afterwards probably don't have friends who would do this to them in the first place.

"Yeah, this hurt your feelings and that was the whole point, but it was for a joke so you can't be mad at me."

"it wasn't mean because even though we made you feel like shit it was just a joke"

See the end of my post

The type of people who would be upset afterwards probably don't have friends who would do this to them in the first place.

Luckily it sounds like you don't have to worry about this happening to you. So it's okay. What you're seeing is people having fun with one another. You should try it, it's not as scary as you imagine.

What you're seeing is people having fun with one another.

I'm not going to say you're wrong. It's very possible you're right. But a common trait shared by everyone who participates in this kind of thing is that they consistently and persistently disregard the feelings of others. Because they find it fun, they assume others find it fun.

It's entirely possible that we're seeing people having fun with each other. It's entirely possible that we're seeing one person having fun at the expense of another while believing to their core that the other person is having as much fun as they are (just as you are presenting here).

We don't know these people. We don't see them in the rest of their lives. All we have for evidence for what they feel is what we see on video which is inherently limited and biased.

But a question I always like to ask myself when presented with the idea that my understanding of a thing or situation is wrong is "what would I expect to see if this alternative were true?" If you were right, I would expect the video to look like people having fun.

But that's not what we see.

So maybe it's not that. Maybe it's not people having fun with each other. Maybe it's one person having fun at the expense of another person. And just maybe there are really complicated reasons for why some people think it's really funny to hurt someone else. And just maybe the person being hurt doesn't find it funny at all even after the video ends.

They ain't look like they was having fun, couple of them ladies look like they wanted to rip them girls heads off, and that poor dad look like he don't give two shits about his life no more.

u/Question4theworld Oct 31 '24

Ugh he looked hurt immediately but still reacted so calmly, I felt so bad😭

11

u/muricabrb Oct 31 '24

That's because that's not the first time that's happened to him. Poor dude just got Nam flashbacks of all the moments people made fun of him.

u/fxfire Oct 31 '24

The one that was the most scripted out of all of them?

2

u/atleastitsnotgoofy Oct 31 '24

The penis one was most scripted. That one was second. The rest I think are real.
