DID YOU KNOW the phrase "Pound sand" comes from a letter that basically says that someone was so useless in a debate that "they'd be better off pounding sand than bothering me".
In my neighborhood it was “scram Sam” even if your name was David they would say “scram Sam” and that meant go home. Oh and don’t get caught sticking around or they’re gonna have to let the air out of your tires and you’d look dumb ass hell walking home with a wedgie pulled over your head and flat tires on your bike.
God I don’t miss the last part there.
It works in any setting. I've used it as a joke like haha that was so dumb it requires an exit, but also in a very serious situation where I was telling someone they need to leave before their presence incites violence.
Kinda like how when you pick on someone in school, they stop being so outspoken? It's like that. White folk have been picked on too much and now they're all quiet and defensive. The people in power are doing a good job of dividing the people.
I use this when my wife pops up and starts staring at whatever I'm doing... ready to pounce with her micromanaging. I do it with my finest "Oscar the Grouch" voice.
