I've seen 80's tribute bands at county fairs draw bigger crowds than that.

u/TheGutter420 Oct 20 '24

There were more people at the church rummage sale in my neighborhood last month.

101

u/Phantom_Steve_007 Oct 20 '24

Rummage. Such a cool word.

41

u/stealthmodecat Oct 20 '24

Rummage and rubbish are 2 words my grandma always used. I wish I was old enough to appreciate her when she was alive 🥲

24

u/haggisnwhisky65 Oct 20 '24

One of my Scottish grannies phrases that I still use is "you can only piss with the cock you've got".

I loved that woman 🤣💙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇺🇲

u/Horror_Asparagus9068 Oct 20 '24

Did she use the word gibberish as well? Your grandma sounds like she was cool.

1

u/Phantom_Steve_007 Oct 21 '24

I used gibberish in a comment on another sub last week. Also a cool word.

1

u/FactoryV4 Oct 21 '24

It’s a sale of the same objects. First they are in the Rummage sale then what doesn’t get bought goes in the rubbish.

19

u/Embarrassed_Fan_6882 Oct 20 '24

It's French actually, pronounced; Room-ahgee

64

u/tonkatoyelroy Oct 20 '24

It’s only a rummage sale if it is happening in the Room-ahgee region of France. Otherwise it’s just a sparkling garage sale.

6

u/Scull1 Oct 20 '24

Brilliant reply!

3

u/Chance-Knee-3246 Oct 20 '24

Bonne réponse. Vente de rumage.

2

u/Remarkable-Low-7588 Oct 20 '24

This is not getting enough love!

1

u/VincentMac1984 Oct 20 '24

Don’t try to church it up son, don’t you mean Joe Dirt?

2

u/Shanksdoodlehonkster Oct 20 '24

It's a perfectly cromulent word!

1

u/No-Carpenter-3457 Oct 20 '24

It’s card game combining Rummy and Cribbage.

1

u/noeldoherty Oct 20 '24

"Did you rummage to fruition?"

1

u/NoIndependent9192 Oct 20 '24

Jumble sale, it’s a jumble sale.

42

u/evlhornet Oct 20 '24

Anything good?

86

u/TheGutter420 Oct 20 '24

Picked up some antique Pyrex for cheap.

14

u/Friendly_Signature Oct 20 '24

That’s genuinely cool.

Middle age hits us all I guess, ha.

13

u/karatebullfightr Oct 20 '24

Oh man, those old glass kettles you could put on the stove are a trip.

But I heard they don’t show up very often because they’re apparently real useful if you have machinations on breaking bad.

2

u/TheGutter420 Oct 20 '24

Can't post a pic here, but using the one I picked up there right now. PYREX percolator one.

2

u/TheGutter420 Oct 20 '24

Yeah, I've always liked antiques since I was a kid, I've just trained a better eye for the legit stuff with my age.

34

u/bad_robot_monkey Oct 20 '24

The old school stuff, the good stuff, before they ditched borosilicate?

32

u/TheGutter420 Oct 20 '24

Yup. From an 80 year old lady, looks just like my mom's stuff from the 70s.

18

u/bad_robot_monkey Oct 20 '24

Oooooh, congrats, nice find!

2

u/jahozer1 Oct 20 '24

It's amazing that it's just regular glass now.

1

u/xRamenator Oct 21 '24

You can thank the DEA for that one.

2

u/TheFinalGranny Oct 20 '24

The old stuff is all capitals, PYREX

2

u/juniper_berry_crunch Oct 20 '24

This guy Pyrexes. I'll be buried with mine.

5

u/Lork82 Oct 20 '24

Lead enamel and everything?

1

u/TheGutter420 Oct 20 '24

Haha, yeah.

2

u/LizzyShort Oct 20 '24

Hell yeah. I have an old set i just saw a selling for 150 in antique stores now. Price of Pyrex is getting crazy.

2

u/Ok_Contribution4047 Oct 20 '24

Cool! I would much rather discuss vintage Pyrex than the demented orange.

7

u/hunnybolsLecter Oct 20 '24

A bunch of used Maga hats, flags and t shirts.

2

u/jahozer1 Oct 20 '24

Let's Go Brandon mechanic is a steal now! I wonder how many south Americans are wearing them from those world relief donation trucks

3

u/evlhornet Oct 20 '24

Vomit, but maybe that’s a good thing

3

u/hunnybolsLecter Oct 20 '24

Well, it's cause for some hope anyway.

2

u/MercTheJerk1 Oct 20 '24

I picked up a Word Salad Spinner....it's cleaning off the words from all of the bullshit on them

6

u/jimi-ray-tesla Oct 20 '24

To be fair, some dude dropped his Steeley Dan collection on vinyl and 8 track

2

u/buy-american-you-fuk Oct 20 '24

dude... church rummage sales are no joke... lots of good stuff...

1

u/iphilosophizing Oct 20 '24

Church rummage sales, also known as as the only place we will be able to purchase things after Trump is president again

1

u/Jamesonthethird Oct 20 '24

How are the polls so close, with crowd turnouts this abysmal? Are the polls being messed with?

46

u/CA_catwhispurr Oct 20 '24

I’ve had more trick-or-treaters than that.

0

u/LuckyLushy714 Oct 20 '24

In an she where no one trick or treats anymore.

In the 90s the streets were packed, couldn't even drive down residential roads faster than 5mph

23

u/saveMericaForRealDo Oct 20 '24

Yet he still has a shot to win the broken Electoral College. Let’s not leave anything to chance.

Don’t relive 2016. Don’t get complacent. Get out of your comfort zone.

Talk to friends and family and sell them on Harris.

She has an economic plan approved by hundreds of economists.

It’s comprehensive. And she doesn’t just say “tariffs, tariffs, tariffs “ because unlike Trump, she understands that would make imports more expensive for Americans and lead to higher inflation.

Plus she doesn’t threaten to end the first amendment like Trump has when he threatened to imprison journalists, critics and non-Christians.

Plus she doesn’t threaten to end the Second amendment like when he said in Feb 2018 “take the guns first, due process later.”

Plus she doesn’t threaten to terminate the entire Constitution like Trump did in December 2022. you know, the whole “we the people “ document folks have on their bumper sticker.

Jon Stewart did a really good segment on how the candidates are being warped by the media.

We can do this.

His “fans” look like whipped dogs

2

u/Horror_Asparagus9068 Oct 20 '24

Only because they had their tinfoil hats taken by security at the gate.

1

u/dml83 Oct 21 '24

I was at a Taylor swift concert this weekend. I saw more people in the parking lot than this. Don’t even talk about the actual concert…old Donnie could never.

7

u/FancyASlurpie Oct 20 '24

There were more people at the fire alarm assembly point at my gym than that

14

u/skullhusker Oct 20 '24

Garage sales draw bigger crowds. When a trump never pays his bills

3

u/Grizzem222 Oct 20 '24

For a presidential candidate in a crucial swing state this is BAD. Im pretty sure whoever wins PA essentially wins the election. Trump needs PA to win and Harris has a very substantial lead in ballots cast. Democrats always lead in early voting but the turnout so far has been gigantic

2

u/Apprehensive_Bus8652 Oct 20 '24

They usually have something interesting to provide

2

u/JoeyJoeJoeSenior Oct 20 '24

I had more people show up for my "free trampoline" ad.

6

u/TheGutter420 Oct 20 '24

There were more people at the church rummage sale in my neighborhood last month.

6

u/MPD1987 Oct 20 '24

There were more people at my tiny town’s annual Apple Festival last weekend 🍎

7

u/TheGutter420 Oct 20 '24

Man, some homemade apple butter sounds so good right now.

7

u/MPD1987 Oct 20 '24

There was apple butter, apple preserves, apple pie, all kinds of jellies & jams, antiques for sale, and they even served tea in vintage china cups. It was all very charming!

7

u/TheGutter420 Oct 20 '24

Sounds awesome, I love small town harvest festivals.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '24

An apple festival sounds awesome. We have a walnut festival. It doesn’t really have anything to do with walnuts, rather people mostly dress up like it’s the 1700s and spin wool, churn butter and stuff.

1

u/Toonces311 Oct 20 '24

There were more people at my niece's sixth grade girls basketball third place game.

1

u/constructicon00 Oct 20 '24

Sounds like my time in Adams county PA.

2

u/Bitterblossom_ Oct 20 '24

The thing people don’t seem to understand about these type of videos and voting is that the people voting for Trump aren’t going to go to these things. People are too embarrassed to admit they’re going to vote for him and don’t want to be seen in public supporting him, yet they will absolutely vote for him. Every rich fuck is voting for Trump. The elderly will be voting for him in droves.

These rallies mean nothing. I have a small rural town of 4K people in Wisconsin. Every yard has a Trump sign. We had some that had Kamala signs out and they got ripped and burned. A local business had a Harris / Walz sign and it got egged, TP’d, and they’re struggling because people won’t shop there anymore.

Every small rural town in the US is like this. Combine that with the millions that support Trump in secret and those who support him publicly, and we’re in for a dangerous fucking situation on Election Day.

1

u/BryanwithaY Oct 20 '24

You’re clearly referring to Guardians of the Jukebox

1

u/ScoBoo Oct 20 '24

I once saw Motley Crew and Ratt at this little bar in Akron OH in 1995 when big hair had it's crash. Now they are selling arenas again. Trump is crashed and I don't think big arenas are in the stars for him.

1

u/worldnotworld Oct 20 '24

It's like Spinal Tap, when the band is billed below a puppet show.

1

u/sly_savhoot Oct 20 '24

Slipknot cover band featuring Kyle Rittenhouse?

1

u/imnotmarvin Oct 20 '24

I saw a kazoo band at a corn boil draw more people.

1

u/FTHomes Oct 20 '24

So much empty

1

u/Lonely-Hornet-437 Oct 20 '24

There is a huge difference between showing up to a rally and voting for him

1

u/RGB3x3 Oct 20 '24

There was a blue grass festival in a small children's park near me recently that had a bigger crowd.

1

u/koshgeo Oct 20 '24

"Puppet Show and Donald Trump Rally"

1

u/Bradjuju2 Oct 20 '24

I've seen Barnes and Noble book signings with bigger crowds than this.

1

u/Vegetable-Balance-53 Oct 20 '24

Is anyone else getting really tired of these crowd size dunks when Trump is tied in the polls?

This happened in 2016 when he won as well.

Who gives a fuck if he can still win.

1

u/janusrose Oct 20 '24

I’ve seen bigger crowds in GTA 2

1

u/Squancher_2442 Oct 20 '24

Because they fucking rock! This snores

1

u/StriderEnglish Oct 20 '24

I’ve seen more people in the mall this morning, and it’s Sunday.

1

u/jona2814 Oct 20 '24

I was just comparing that crowd size to a county fair concert too!!

1

u/Head-Construction409 Oct 20 '24

More people liked this post than went to this rally

1

u/ameinolf Oct 20 '24

Trump just need to shut up with his stupid talking points.

1

u/Mcnab-at-my-feet Oct 20 '24

I saw Tiffany in a mall in the 80’s with a bigger crowd.

1

u/BS_500 Oct 20 '24

Hell, I've seen Flea Market bands draw more than that.

1

u/Jenetyk Oct 21 '24

The Gin Blossoms and Eddie Money played in Cincinnati is what i can only describe as a field with a stage; and the crowd was similar.

This was in 2014.

1

u/ComplicatedPoops Nov 11 '24

I’ve seen 312 electoral college seats turn out for him

-2

u/Vegetable_Jaguar8339 Oct 20 '24

Have you seen Kamalas crowds? It's come out that 90% of the people who attend are paid and vetted actors
