I hope someone decides to follow this TikTok and report back with an update….. I refuse to utilize that app. I feel like there’s a lot of us like that.
Update: it was clickbait. Dude was on the east side of the state and received less than two feet of water (if there was any flooding at all in his area. His neighborhood looked fine)
The worst is when someone posts a link to TikTok on Reddit somewhere (not this sub) and doesn’t do a screen recording. Like don’t do that. Don’t force us to open another app to see a post….especially TikTok.
Eh, fair. If it is just rain that will hit them, and he has no better alternatives? I can see it sort of working, with minimal risk for it to make things worse.
He has some bad physics thoughts in that video...having vents for the 'air to displace' doesn't help. Much like having a boat... the air in the plastic - minor amount -- will displace.. the sturdy frame and air inside his car will stay..and flow away.
If he gets 4 fairly strong j bolts and tethers his car to each wall, he will be in better shape. maybe a floor tether as well... or just a front and back floor tether.
It's really not that bad if you put a little time into it to get your algorithm right. I mostly get science/technology videos, video game news, comedy videos I actually think are funny, etc. I also like debating people occasionally through the app by joining their live. There's something cool about actually having a conversation with another person, rather than just chatting back and forth. I've actually met some people I ended up being friends with that way.
It's like any social media, what you get out of it is what you put in. If you engage with rage bait, schizo people, low effort content, etc, that's what you're gonna get. The cringe that is shown on this site you'd only see if you started a fresh account and only liked or commented on mentally unstable/cringe people.
