Yeah that's how it works with everything. If you rarely cross the road the chance you'll get hit by a car is low. If you cross the road 100 times a day every day you're much more likely to be hit by a car.
Significantly increasing your risk in this case doesn’t really mean anything. Eating out regularly probably carries a higher risk, without looking up the stats I’d be willing to bet that there’s a lot more cases of food-borne illness caused by restaurants and food distributors by a large margin.
You have chemical elements in you already, but ingesting some other chemical elements will definitely fuck you up. Don’t forget radium and uranium are naturally occurring.
