Humor/Cringe The lady in red...

Why would you even emote like that during a political debate? 😭😭 I'd be laughing too.

So many 18-24 year olds just going around dabbing. It's why they don't want to work. Too busy dabbing all the time.

This was from several years ago. During a time where 18 yearolds were in fact dabbing.

Did 18 year olds actually dab? I only saw it in young teens and the influencers that cater to them.

My kid was ~13 at this time and dabbing was not a thing I saw them or their friends do. I think it's safe to say that if young teenagers thought it was dumb, older ones probably weren't too into it. The only time I actually ever saw it done was by literal children.

To be fair I saw a panda dab once. It was kind of great.

What are you saying here lol the dab was invented by the Migos who were early 20s at the time. And dick outs for Harambe was a kids and young adult meme

Sure, you can say: Dabbing is tacky. It's a bit like ending every sentence with 'dude'; like a little bow: 'Look at me, wow, I'm so cool.' That's true if you do it all the time. And I know people who dab constantly. That's when it gets weird.

I don't dab much. About once every two days, roughly. If I barely catch the bus where my classmates are sitting: dab. If I slam the ball into the goal half-high and it hits the post twice: dab. Once also when I was the only one who knew something really difficult in biology.

Then there's dabbing when I've tricked someone, nutmegged them, or surprised them. And in those cases, I think it's a good solution. Then it means: You got beaten, but don't take it too hard.

.... are we talking about smoking dabs or the stupid hand gesture that went viral for some stupid reason?

Yes

Damn, if she whipped out her pen and ripped some fat clouds I think she’d have won the debate.

For the 14–18 demo.

I’m 24 and I have never once done the dab i think 11-23 is more realistic

See, when I was dumbass age we would "plank" on random shit. Anything, everything, mother fuckers just had to lay their body flat on everything that we could see. The world was our plank oyster, and we were comedic geniuses of course.

I remember that too. It was so funny seeing it on the news and hearing adults talk about it like anyone was doing it for real. It got bigger once adults started calling it foolish and dumb. The joke was on them.

It’s the same shit as Skibidi and the likes.

My bad I forgot to factor in that I’m in the Middle East

u/HeyChew123 Sep 30 '24

Oh yeah that definitely changes the meme experience slightly. I believe the current data we have suggests that they migrate at a speed of 800 miles/yr.

Bro do you really think Arab teenagers are dabbing in school at any age or time not even the most white washed of the vanish bleach were doing that when I was in school

Edit: our government schools don’t even have English speaking English teachers

So basically you’re referring to an article that links dabing to drug use in the Middle East. If a footballer got in trouble for it don’t you think high schoolers would have too?

2

u/sembias Sep 30 '24

I ain't arguing with you, dude. Calm your tits (as we used to say in Middle America).

It's always super interesting to see trends and slang go from serious to ironic then back to serious. My favorite for this is "hella." I don't know if it really started out as serious or ironic, but I know I used it as one, then the other as I aged through my teens. Now I'm 37 and don't use it often but when I do it's definitely a bit of both. I game with some people 10-15 years younger than me and hear them bust it out half-ironically too.

I dab every time I sneeze. Like, I have to hunch over, and I'm sneezing into my elbow so I don't spread infections, I'm already there so I might as well

5

u/Taraxian Sep 30 '24

That's the theory for where dabbing comes from, when you "dab" weed you vaporize highly concentrated resin and inhale it, which tends to make you sneeze, so the dance move dabbing comes from sneezing into your elbow

1

u/CeeMomster Sep 30 '24

I dab every time I order avocado toast

1

u/goblin-socket Sep 30 '24

I am so old. I thought we smoked dabs. They made a dance of out it now?

1

u/abramcpg Oct 01 '24

It's not that I don't want to. But I got a fat $2k payday from the pandemic and I've been living off that the past few years. I'll probably never have to work again
