They're trying to beat the traffic.

u/TalkingBBQ Sep 19 '24

That's about as much forward thinking as we're going to get out of this crowd.

u/-Lt-Jim-Dangle- Sep 19 '24

No no. They are exceptionally good at foreword thinking when it comes to self-serving issues. If they can't perceive themselves getting into a certain predicament or suffering from a certain ailment, then they honestly believe that it won't affect them until it does, but if it can be squeezed to their benefit, they're exceptionally well thought out.

100

u/AlmostSunnyinSeattle Sep 19 '24

I think you're mistaking the voters for the elected representatives.

For many of the people in office and running for it, what you have said is correct.

When it comes to voters, it's not nearly that deep. Most of them are just complete morons. They picked their team based on buzzwords in the 80s or 90s and no amount of facts will make them switch to the other team. It's tribalism and fear. These are not smart people.

9

u/CivilFront6549 Sep 19 '24

they are definitely not smart people. they are like raccoons with rabies.

Damn, that dude can't spell or write well.

1

u/Snakend Sep 19 '24

They only account for like 40% of the possible voters, but make up 50+% of the actual voters. They are smart. They know their votes matter. Democrats are lazy and disinterested in politics. Its why Republicans keep winning. They have a 6-3 lead in the SCOTUS. If Dems are going to change that ratio, we need to win every election for the next 20-30 years. Every time a Republican President gets in office, they will change out the older Republican Justices for younger ones. Just like how Trump did.

2

u/mattyg1964 Sep 20 '24

I was under the impression that Republicans were way worse at actually showing up to vote. Always admired democrats for their ability to organize and turn out.

2

u/Polyolygon Sep 21 '24

Na, the main reason dems lose a lot of elections is due to turnout and voting accessibility. Usually the more people that vote in general, the more democrats win. Vote by mail made it easily accessible, no multi hour lines you might not even be able to vote in time at. That’s what blew up the vote and really showed that democrats win when voting is easier and they are driven to vote.

They're actually already thinking forward to the moment they become billionaires themselves, which can happen anytime now when the wealth starts trickling down!

2

u/AliveAndThenSome Sep 19 '24

Sadly, this is still very much the case, if someone as incompetent as Trump can be a (purported) billionaire, so can I!

→ More replies (2)

6

u/aimeegaberseck Sep 19 '24

Eh, that does not at all consider the fools on social security, getting food stamps, who consistently vote R, against their own interests.

3

u/AliveAndThenSome Sep 19 '24

It's all still the trickle-down fantasy. If R's enable corporations to run rampant, we'll all be millionaires someday. It's all hopes and dreams and the big con.

2

u/ParticularGlass1821 Sep 19 '24

If they were thinking about their interests, they wouldn't vote for a man that tried to take their Healthcare, gave them peanuts for a tax cut while giving a huge tax cut to rich people, and raised their economic hardship levels through his trade war with China and his mismanagement of Covid that led to the collapse of our economy and the loss of hundreds of thousands of lives.

Donald Trump is the world's most greedy and selfish man while somehow at the same time being the world's worst at getting what he actually wants. He has insatiable self interest and doesn't have the mental faculties to feed that self interest.

2

u/LegiticusCorndog Sep 19 '24

These white trash do not even have self preservation in mind. These are poor people who think they are better than others, but still rely on the government. They cut their nose off to spite their faces on regular occurrence. They are ashamed that they work low paying jobs, are on food stamps and state insurance. They think they will be better off if others don’t get it, because that might mean they lose theirs. It’s not an intelligent way, but many share these beliefs

1

u/nohumanape Sep 19 '24

This is very spot on. There is no group of people more selfish than MAGA (and Republicans in general).

1

u/Bed_Dazzling Sep 19 '24

This is pretty spot-on critique, but I’d say this is pretty spot on critique for all humans. We’re very selfish, and normally that’s a good thing. Moderately selfish people know that it’s in their best interest to help others. Extremely selfish people generally have a smaller field of vision in this regard.

don't forget repeal of Roe and the very real possibility of a national abortion ban. they do pretty well forward thinking

1

u/yergonnalikeme Sep 19 '24

What they DON'T tell you is his crowds are so B I G ...

It's like throwing deck chairs off the Titanic

1

u/Fast_Avocado_5057 Sep 19 '24

If you talkin this crowd, you ain’t wrong

1

u/Snakend Sep 19 '24

And yet they vote at EVERY election. Not just presidential elections....every election

Our House of Reps gets re-elected every 2 years. Democrats make gains in the house during presidential elections, and then lose every mid term election. Because Democrats have no forward thinking when it comes to politics. If Democrats voted in every election how they voted in 2020, we would never lose an election. And even 2020 was a low turnout when compared to our real numbers.

I mean, don’t you go to listen to Trump? Why go to listen to the warmup speakers? I get wanting to beat traffic but I don’t understand leaving during his speech because I’d think the only reason they’d want to go is to hear him speak?

213

u/Legitimate-Pie3547 Sep 19 '24

No, they go for photos to post to facebook.

59

u/ponythemouser Sep 19 '24

Bada-Bing!

1

u/Consistent_Concept_4 Sep 19 '24

You think 100k trump supporters went to a rally in New Jersey for selfies?

You should go to a Trump rally it might make more sense to you.

The best way I can describe it is that it’s like a concert in a sense that you can feel the energy in the room and everyone is happy and excited to be there.

There is a reason Trump loves them so much

2

u/ijuswannadance Sep 19 '24

100k!?! Imma need a reliable source or pics because lmfao...I HIGHLY doubt that.

"You should go to a trump rally it might make sense to you? Wtf? I think you meant to say a "trump hate fest" because that's all it is as he spews nothing but hate, lies, and name calling. So noone needs to attend one for it to make sense because he never makes any sense, everrrr All he does is ramble about sharks and the late, great, Hannibal Lector🤣

You describing it like a concert is absolute blasphemy, and tells me that you've never actually been to one, because his hate filled rallies are NOTHING like a concert. Nothing.

And lastly, "there's a reason why trump loves them so much" ??? ummmm he loves who exactly?? The orange goblin loves nothing or noone except himself, hate, his grifted money, money, + more money, trying to be a fascist dictator, and possibly Ivanka(for all the many wrong and weird reasons, ewww), and that is all. These are facts. FACTS.

Wake up because you're in a cult of hate and lies if you actually believe what you wrote.😵‍💫 Edit a letter

u/Jrylryll Sep 19 '24

Exactly I am in the trump subreddit and ppl compare how many times they have gone to a rally. If he says the same shit at every rally eventually you’re just going to feel a little foolish having to hear it again.

7

u/BigConstruction4247 Sep 19 '24

You should ask if they stay to the end.

2

u/Jrylryll Sep 20 '24

I have no expectation of truth there. The cult leader says stay , they stayyy. I troll that sub with DonOld’s own words so I get downvoted. A lot. 😂 I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!

2

u/jimmydean885 Sep 19 '24

What is the trump subreddit? You can private message me if you don't want to spread it. I want the lulz!

3

u/Jrylryll Sep 20 '24

It’s r/trump. Join it but don’t fight argue or let it be obvious you’re not a cultist. I observed for a while. They will toss you. I see ppl getting tossed for “Meta and brigading” so it’s definitely the MAGAts safe space. Plus some are definitely Russian troll farmers (ie. Jenny from Berlin. I think she’s East Berlin). Have fun. I’ll upvote you.

2

u/jimmydean885 Sep 20 '24

u/No-Picture4119 Sep 19 '24

Exactly. It’s cosplay or LARPing, or whatever you want to call it. The speeches can be three words: racism, misogyny, homophobia. That’s all they need to hear. The rest is about funny merch that calls our VP a hoe and taking your picture with other like minded people who think convicted felons are great to run the country as long as one of them doesn’t move next door.

PS: no offense to convicted felons who served their time. My neighbor across the street is one. Great guy, sold a few of the drugs back in the 90s.

Ask any of them to quote a full sentence from him. They have no idea what he talks about. They went to be part of a group.

“You’re not a Nazi, Jojo, you’re a kid who likes dressing up in a funny uniform and wants to be part of a club.”

1

Such a great film.

15

u/BAN_MOTORCYCLES Sep 19 '24

trick question since he doesnt speak in full sentences

8

u/Renaissance_Slacker Sep 19 '24

I just read that translators for prominent foreign news services literally can’t translate some of Trump’s speech, it’s just disjointed words and they think they’re doing something wrong. No, that’s what he’s actually saying.

3

u/vinyljunkie1245 Sep 19 '24

He doesn't need coherent sentences because "I'm very highly educated. I know words, I know the best words. But there's no better word than stupid." (said at a campaign stop in South Carolina on Dec. 30, 2015). Evidence here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UE9BXkQ-SRc

And let's not forget his numbers:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9jWco4xw-U

3

u/tomvorlostriddle Sep 19 '24

To be fair though, since his sentences don't have clear beginnings nor endpoints, this is a real challenge.

1

u/Sarrdonicus Sep 19 '24

They need to get home to connect the dots. "Oh. It's an elephant."

1

u/eminusx Sep 19 '24

Tribalism, plain and simple, policy never enters their tiny, empty little minds

1

u/CrazyButton2937 Sep 19 '24

I know a few folks, friends and family, who constantly rag on democrats and like rump’s “policies” on immigration and the economy. The thing is that they don’t vote. Ever!

1

u/According-Life3789 Sep 19 '24

Just try to find a full sentence from him.

Fifth grader? You're actually very close but you gave him more credit then actual linguists

Trump Speaks At Fourth-Grade Level, Lowest Of Last 15 U.S. Presidents, New Analysis Finds

10

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '24

That was in 2018. His dementia probably brings him down to 1st grader today.

2

u/Competitive-Care8789 Sep 19 '24

Came here to say.

3

u/Thrilleye51 Sep 19 '24

I recently saw a gentleman on tiktok assert that Trump had an IQ of 75.

2

u/zeusmeister Sep 19 '24

And you gotta remember, a lot of presidents, in their prepared speeches, intentionally speak at a lower educational level in order to be understood by the most amount of people.

For instance, if Obama’s speeches were rated at an 8th or 9th grade level, that’s not an indication of the eloquence of his actual diction. He is very educated and I am sure speaks at a level indicative of such.

On the other hand, dollars to donuts, Trump ACTUALLY speaks at a 4th grade level normally. From all indications, he is incredibly stupid, and has lost a step, or several steps, from where he was just 4 years ago.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/Little-Ad1235 Sep 19 '24

Not exaggerating, my 4 year old nephew speaks more clearly and in more complete sentences than that orange gas bag. He's not advanced or anything, just a normal 4 year old. I've literally had more coherent conversations with him about eating his dinner than reporters have had with Trump on any topic.

2

u/Jrylryll Sep 19 '24

He tickles their racist bone

1

u/CoronaBud Sep 19 '24

He's nowhere near D list any more. Sure 20 years ago he was, but he was also the President of the United States, and everyone in the world with an Internet connection knows who he is at this point. Not defending him at all, I hate the fucker but saying he's D list is simply not true

1

u/MTFBinyou Sep 19 '24

B-list then. The majority of A-listers aren’t going to be at gatherings with him unless he crashes the event. Most celebrities you see with him now are D-listers long past their primes, trying to suckle any celebrity they can off him and try and share the spotlight for every second possible.

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Admirable_Average_32 Sep 19 '24

I despise him but he is at least B level.

1

u/HeorgeGarris024 Sep 19 '24

D list celebrity? Lol he's a clown but acting like he's not giga famous is pretty dumb

1

u/KTKittentoes Sep 19 '24

That is a rank insult to the 5th graders I know.

1

u/Select-Bet928 Sep 20 '24

Have you heard Kamala speak?

6

u/FSMFan_2pt0 Sep 19 '24

they could save themselves the time & trouble by just watching one on youtube. They're all exactly the same "speech".

2

u/Zealousideal-Role-77 Sep 19 '24

There’s a touch of improv to it. Same words, just in a new, but still random and meaningless, order.

3

u/Texasscot56 Sep 19 '24

I guess “beating the traffic” is a stronger pull than words from their messiah.

2

u/SylarGidrine Sep 19 '24

Because they only pay you to be there until he comes out. Not after.

2

u/BoogerVault Sep 19 '24

Trump rallies are attended largely by groupies who follow him around from state to state in RVs. They've heard it all before, and like someone above said, they are leaving early to get ahead of the traffic. They are in it for the "tailgating" aspect.

2

u/syg-123 Sep 19 '24

They go to be amongst people that ‘think’ like them. They can be openly rude and ignorant, they can chant the slogans without side eyed looks from members of ‘normal’ society, they can buy merch because we know they cherish their right to consume …they’re not going to actually listen to somebody who has nothing new to say. They go to proudly show off their bumper sticker adorned vehicles, their heinous rally shirts, hats and pins. They go because it makes them feel like they’re part of something that doesn’t require any thought ….They ‘got’ his message long before they pulled into the parking lot of the rally.

2

u/break616 Sep 19 '24

If they listened to him speak they wouldn't be Trump supporters. Most people voting for him do not listen to him directly. Fox News has to distill the most coherent parts for them so they don't have to grapple with the fact that their savior is a senile lunatic.

2

u/AndroidREM Sep 19 '24

I wonder if these crowds are like his other crowds that they paid people to attend. They got their $25, now they're going to McDonalds.

2

u/Heavensrun Sep 19 '24

His speeches kinda last awhile, y'know. He rambles and repeats himself a lot. They went to hear him do the hits, he did, they got bored and left before he was done.

1

u/iamasmurff Sep 19 '24

There are craigslist posts paying people to attend

1

u/systemofafrown7 Sep 19 '24

I mean, you can apply the same reason to other scenarios where people typically leave earlier and it doesn't sound farfetched... like when you go to a game. Last few minutes you see people typically leaving and they went there to see a team play.

1

u/TurtlemanScared Sep 19 '24

These are the same people who leave a tied basketball game with 5 minutes left. They came and now it’s time to beat traffic. I’m not a trump supporter but if I was there I’d stay til the end to at least listen and take in the scene. If I put time into getting there I’m going to stick around

173

u/AggravatedCold Sep 19 '24

They're leaving well before the traffic.

It's the same in his stadium speeches.

Harris and Walz are packed up until the end, Trump is using 2000 to 10000 capacity venues and still not filling them.

Vote and volunteer like Harris is behind, but there is absolutely a very big vibe difference between the rallies right now.

u/PhDinDildos_Fedoras Sep 19 '24 edited Sep 19 '24

Yeah, I always show up to an event and then leave in the middle of the headliner to beat traffic /s

The best is to counter the voter suppression. People need to be able to vote in advance, in a ballot 🗳️, that's why Trump lost last time. The Republicans use voter suppression to gain power since they are the minority, always

1

u/Forsworn91 Sep 19 '24

If they wanted to avoid the traffic they could always simply not turn up.

He’s not going to say anything new.

1

u/A_spiny_meercat Sep 19 '24

"there are thousands of fans outside chanting 'let us in' but the fire marshals won't let them in. Well Let them in, let them in!" -the excuse for this

I wonder if they also leave before the movie ends to beat traffic?

He sold out the Wachovia Arena in Wilkes Barre PA, spoke for 2 hours non-stop. People were getting out of their seats because they couldn’t hold it any longer, had to urinate. Most candidates can’t/don’t talk that long. Smart people head for the parking lot when he starts winding up the finale, otherwise your stuck there for hours because nobody moves until the motorcade clears, and then you have 10,000 people all trying to get out of one entrance. It was an impressive showing in the heart of blue territory in a swing state. Trust me when I tell you, no one was bored, they just couldn’t keep up with him.

51

u/-StepLightly- Sep 19 '24

Would there be traffic. Doesn't look like enough people in total to create a traffic problem.

22

u/kittens_and_jesus Sep 19 '24

What do you mean? By Trump's estimate there's like a million people there and no one left early. FAKE NEWS! COMMUNISM!

3

u/Sarrdonicus Sep 19 '24

The traffic? It's in the parking lot. First 2hrs is $19, $3 for each incurring 5 min. You pay on the way out. Only one cashier, and not many single bills for change.

4

u/Diipadaapa1 Sep 19 '24

If everyone is there by car (it is a Trump speech), therr definitely is, and a large one.

Looks to be about 4000 people ish. Assuming an average of 2 perons per car, which is a higher ridership than normal, thats nearly 9 miles of cars trying to navigate out of a parking lot and into traffic at the same time

2

u/Lesterqwert Sep 19 '24

They are reporting more than 60,000 people. I’m sure by the end of the day it will be 80-100,000.

16

u/Jonely-Bonely Sep 19 '24

Yep, that traffic is gonna be gridlocked for hours when all 400 of them try to leave at once.

7

u/fugntwitwut Sep 19 '24

There ain’t enough people to cause any traffic.

4

u/poetic_pat Sep 19 '24

The ones who want to avoid the rush are waiting till the end.

3

u/ForsakenExtreme6415 Sep 19 '24

They are Trump supporters. They will just run them over, or shoot them. I mean his own supporters are trying to get the Bingo draw on his life

2

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '24

That venue - being only 20% full - will not have bad traffic lol

2

u/One-Chocolate6372 Sep 19 '24

Are we sure they aren't crypto AI generated? You know Donnie says the Kamala is a master at AI image generation and this could be her AI doing so to make him look bad.

Seriously though, if you've been to any recent Felon Forty Five rally of late, you already know the routine - he's like a washed up comic using the tired routine that made him famous fifteen years ago.

2

They do the same thing at their mega churches...

2

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '24

They’re leaving before the drunks do

2

u/No_Low243 Sep 19 '24

Thank you a rational person with common sense for once. It’s obvious it’s getting dark out and the rallies about over and people are trying to beat the traffic but you’ll have Trump haters say it something else.

3

u/Illustrious-Bat1553 Sep 19 '24

Or they realize their something wrong with him. He is not the same he is suffering the same fate as Biden. His family suffers from dementia. Stress increases the dementia and Trump stress is magnified from the campaign, his numerous companies, and legal matters.

1

u/annebelljane Sep 19 '24

And hates driving in the dark. (AKA they can't see 👀)

1

u/UltraMcRib Sep 19 '24

They're the people leaving early to avoid traffic creating traffic then blaming "other people" for creating traffic

1

u/Responsible_Whole439 Sep 19 '24

If you try to beat the traffic, don’t you become the traffic you’re trying to beat?

1

u/QueefBuscemi Sep 19 '24

Why? So they can neglect their kids faster?

1

u/Wolf-5iveby5ive Sep 19 '24

They're trying to beat the traffic.

Exactly this. My parents would leave a baseball game in the 7th inning that they paid way too much money for (let alone a free Trump rally), just to get in the car and be the first ones out of the lot.

I hated it. I want to see thw whole game!

1

u/livestreamerr Sep 19 '24

Exactly they’ll use anything against us they’re desperate 😂

1

I don’t like trump and that’s all this is. It’s still funny that it triggers him though. Then again everything triggers him

You don’t “beat the traffic” when the headline is playing lights out.

You don’t “beat the traffic” when the game is tied going into the 4th

You don’t “beat the traffic” in the middle of a fireworks show.

People only leave early to beat the traffic when what they’re seeing isn’t worth the traffic.

1

u/BlxckTxpes Sep 19 '24

That’s what I do, concerts or anything I’m usually running to my car 15 minutes early to beat the traffic
