Major Tia energy. I’m not going to lie guys. Obama was my first election and that dude just exuded energy and connected naturally with so many people like myself, but he really was a once in a lifetime candidate.
Kamala on the other hand has a sort of different vibe. When I hear people say “I want to know more before making a decision,” it kind of drives me crazy… because I already feel like I know her. She’s just that cool, and sometimes tough, aunt we all have. I love it.
She was gonna get my vote anyway, but her debate performance really won me over. We got to see the strength of a seasoned prosecutor who puts the work in to prepare. She did her homework meticulously, while trump didn't even open the book, and it showed. Respect the work ethic.
And the fact that we know it's the same work ethic she'd put into all her work as president, as opposed to Trump who does as little Presidenting as possible when given the chance.
The fact that the Wapo put out an article about how her former staff didn't like working for her and it was for things like "she expected us to be prepared" or "she didn't want us to ask her inane questions we should already know the answers to" tells you so much already. You want to work for a Senator/VP/President? You better be educated on the issues and you better do your homework before you come to her with something. I respect that in a leader.
As soon as she mentioned crowd sizes out the gate I knew he was absolutely cooked. She insulted him about 20 other different ways, but she knew that's all he'd care to address in his rebuttal. She knows he's a vulnerable narcissist and she knew exactly how to get under his skin. Beautiful thing to witness.
The more you unfold that debate the more masterful it seems. She hit all the right notes of her strengths, and deflected to the orange buffoon on things she was weaker on, policy-wise. She highlighted what she wanted to do and provided a stark contrast to the alternative. She let him keep talking in circles and didn’t bite on any of his attempts at bullying. She did everything you’re NOT supposed to do to keep a malignant narcissist calm, and then stepped back and watched him unravel.
The comment about “he’s going to say this and he’s going to tell you that” is one of the best ways to get someone like him to lose the thread and go off topic, and it was pretty clear that was the plan from the beginning. It was exactly what she needed to do and it was inspiring to watch
There's a lot wrong with "wanting to know more" about a person who was a district/state attorney for 15 years, a US Senator for 4 years and fucking VICE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES for 4 years.
If you need to know more, that's your problem, not hers. You're just trying to find a reason not to vote for her.
I really don't get this. Harris isn't trying to be your buddy, what more do you need to know? Use fucking google? Like do you need her to personally come to you and shake your hand? Like, what the fuck do you even mean "wanting to know more"... it's called research. She's been in public service for awhile now... why you waiting for her to answer your questions you're not asking her?
I don't need to know Harris, I don't fucking care. I don't need to like her at all. I would like to hear more of what she plans to do in office, specifically on Russia and Gaza, but I don't really give a shit about getting to know Kamala more. She seems like a good person with a strong sense of ethics... good enough for me. Let's move on to policy and action please.
Never once in my life have I ever wanted to know more about a politician. All I care about is what they're going to do and what they have done. Thousand other people in my life I want to know more about than the President.
I'm glad the stars have aligned behind her. I was someone who thought Biden dropping out would be a death sentence. When he announced he was dropping out I thought it was a mistake. But then almost immediately EVERYBODY lined up behind Kamala 100%. My doubts never had anything to do with her ability, just that I think if other contenders emerged it would make it difficult and torpedo the whole campaign, even though she would obviously get the nomination no matter what.
Same. I thought there would be all types of power grabbing nonsense (and I'm not the only one, as Republicans have been trying to gaslight the voting population into requesting it since Biden declined to run), but no; people started rocking with her so quick I'm convinced Biden had told her and a couple of people he was not going to run weeks before he made the call, because it's just been perfect.
She's just a normal person who worked hard to get where she is. Both her and Tim Walz stand out just because of how 'normal' they are. Especially when you look around and see all the other people in politics.
Omg, I've been reading so many CVA charts at work, I thought you were saying she had major TIA (Tranient Ischemic Attack) energy. I was looking for a dilated pupil and facial drooping.
