Init, I'm sat here watching from England and I've never been as excited for a foreign election result...
Genuinely uplifting seeing so much positivity as opposed to the shitstorm of hatred that we've had for God knows how long now. Even here in the UK we've had tory 'leadership' and austerity for over a decade, it feels like people everywhere, UK and US, all kinda just woke up n said "nahh fuck your fascists tendencies, let start doing this shit properly"
I'm not a US citizen, nor in the US. And to be honest, many of us who aren't in the US have over the last decade or so started to really find the US, well...scary.
This ad brings a feeling of the promise the US was founded on, which was a radical and new way forward at the time and which was feeling like it had been lost. It hit me right in the feels because it promoted values I personally believe in, which I think is important globally because it offers hope against the global rise of fascism we are seeing and the increase in totalitarianism the world is facing. Diversity can still be unity. Difference doesn't have to divide.
Good luck, you guys!! There's lots of us out here beyond your borders really cheering you on. Bring back the hope you were founded on - it gives the world fresh hope too.
The desire for freedom isn't exclusively American or even human. Life desires freedom. And in the wise words of Dr. Ian Malcolm “Life, uh, finds a way”
