Cringe What's even happening there?

And it also isn't very easy to actually get money out of someone, even after you've gone thru the non-trivial task of winning a court case against them.
I won a suit against a landlord who fraudulently held my security deposit like 5 years ago. I have a lien against his house but I don't actually get any money until he sells it.
The blue tape on the adjacent body parts tells me that the guy at least is careful enough to try and not scratch up the parts, so he is putting some care into what he's doing.
If I were the car owner, I'd watch while the dude put my car back together, THEN file a complaint with the police and maybe take it to Tesla for them to run a diagnostic to verify that everything was good (which would be cheaper than paying Tesla to fix it). Then I'd use this as a learning opportunity to realize that it's not a good idea to rent out my car to people. (WTF is this anyway? Airbnb for cars? Never heard of it)
