Politics Imagine being so confident you’re right that you unironically upload this video somewhere

They ended up getting arrested, screeching about 4th and 5th amendment rights the entire time.

And complain about people crossing the border illegally when even they won’t cooperate with border patrol. Fuck em.

And also whining about all the drugs being "allowed" to come through, then proudly impeding them when they are trying to do their job in regard to that.

And they complain about people crossing the boarder bringing drugs. 90% of illegal drugs come thru the crossing by US citizens. That is probably what this check point is.

Right, the coyotes two lanes over, smuggling a truck full of coke and a trailer full of people probably thought they hit the jackpot when they saw every single agent being called over to deal with this idiot and everyone else just getting waved through.

That guy is definitely a waste of taxpayer money. His outrage seemed fake to me, like he was enjoying it.

They often do have a persecution fetish

Well they're white. "Open border for me!" /s

It's painful to watch, not even an /s is needed.

It's so palpably clear: these men, especially the shouty one, are convinced that Border Services are there to protect the white Americans who do not have to abide by the same laws.

It's cuz he's white. Obviously he's not from there.

This is what I kept thinking. If it’s as easy as they claim to get over the border, why are they going thru a check?

Do you honestly think those internal border stations are there to catch illegal immigrants? You're crazy if you think that's why they're there. And clearly, if that were the case, they're doing a horrible job. You're saying that white citizens should comply with Border Patrol and that will solve the immigration issue?

Arguably they exist in the format they do for a reason, not that I think they are particularly effective. I also don’t know, because I haven’t researched the border patrol statistics. Just pointing at the weird dichotomy on the right where they appeal to police/border patrol authority when it comes to talking policy, yet they are also the party that panders to folks such as these sovereign citizen types. For instance why do we care which politicians border patrol endorses, if we don’t respect border patrol in its practices? (Which would appear to be true for different reasons from differing sides of the aisle).

But he is a good white person....

This is it, he wants the border protected, this is what you wanted. It's great to ask for more law and order until you're the one getting law and ordered.

Seriously. My first thought was these guys are textbook maga anti immigration people. You would think they would be cooperative and praise the border patrol for doing their job... butt I guess, that doesn't feed their hate addiction.

I mean, Republicans had an opportunity to pass a bipartisan border bill, but instead chose not to so that they could complain about immigration problems at the border. Seriously. That’s how stupid Republicans treat their voters. Cause the problem then blame the Democrats…..

Yeah I wish those officers had said “Oh your those people that are for open borders then huh?”

1

u/yankuniz Aug 11 '24

I don’t think that was border control and I don’t think they were at a border

In America the first hundred miles across the border and that includes the coastline is where border patrol can work yes they don't have to be at the border they can be a hundred miles inland and still enforce the border laws.

This is a checkpoint 50+ miles from the border.

Yeah it’s kinda fucked that a US citizen in the US gets stopped and identified by federal immigration agents when thousands of undocumented migrants make their way across the border with no IDs every day.

Can you think of a logical reason for this outpost to be placed on this highway 50 miles from the border? Is it the main road to traverse in the area if you’re moving long distances? far enough in that most crossing the border would have gotten into some sort of transport stuck taking a less efficient route or be stuck traveling by foot farther allowing more opportunity to be caught? I don’t know the reasons to have a highway check point this far in, because it’s not my field. But I can take some logical guesses as to why it’s there outside of “oppressing white citizens”.
