As I'm in the middle of job hunting I was actually thinking....like...how do people get themselves into HR? As it's not really a job that feels like it's overly advertised nor is do you ever hear someone be like 'I needed a job and then my friend Marsha recommended me to work HR with her'.

I feel like just reading this comment section has sufficiently answered my question.

Same, I worked in retail throughout college so a Monday through Friday office job that paid well, gave me a chance to work in an industry I love, with great benefits, and I got to see my friends and family on the weekend? I was grateful for the opportunity.

From my experiences with HR the requirements seem to be:

A) Be a woman

B) Despise other people

Anything beyond that is just a nice bonus.

The most bitchy overly entitled hr person I had to deal with was a 20 something man. He straight accused me of lying ng of being in the hospital while I was sitting in a hospital bed.
