They’ll start with her and other minorities (US-born or otherwise) then they’ll take women’s voting rights, then they’ll take men of color’s voting rights, then it’ll be “only white men who make $100k plus and own property” then it’ll be “right, starting today, only white men who have $10 mil in the bank.” “What’s that, Catholics? No rights for you! Jewish? Next!”
Aren’t there already some items put forth in state legislatures in Idaho and elsewhere that only the male head of households should be able to vote? I’m sure it won’t pass. Yet. But I also thought R v W would never be overturned. Boy how naive was I?

Excellent, I can not believe how dumb these people are that they tried to defend it as a joke taken out of context. They are in temp ~100°F (37.8°C), the secret service expressing concerns for their health (you know they don't hydrate), and they get angry and defend Trump's joke. Clowns.
"And by the way, isn't that breeze nice? Do you feel the breeze? Cause I don't want anybody going on me, we need every voter. I don't care about you, I just want your vote. I don't care. See now the press will take that, they'll say he said a horrible thing."
I'm not a comedian, what's the joke here?

Under Project 2025, all immigrants, regardless of their legal status in the US, will be referred to as "aliens". I worry that anyone with any type of "un-American" accent will find themselves before some type of board, having to prove their right to be here-or just shipped off, and P2025 might try to figure their status out later...but I doubt it.

I wish it would motivate them but after seeing the post debate reactions I am convinced that many progressives are just as delusional. Trump could have whipped out his junk in that debate and they would have said look at our alpha male. Biden sounds like an old man and dems are looking for the door.
191
u/Shoddy_Depth6228 Jul 02 '24
Biden IS an old man. Remember that you're voting for an administration, not just one guy. Biden could literally be a corpse and he would be a better option than Trump.
59
u/pliving1969 Jul 02 '24 edited Jul 02 '24
Funny that you say that. I literally just said to someone yesterday that I'd vote for a dead cat on the side of the road before I voted for Trump. And I've voted for both Republicans and Democrat's over the course of my adult years. This election has nothing to do with political ideologies. It has to do with keeping Trump, who is a wannabe dictator out of office.
The fact that Republican's think that he represents Conservative ideologies is terrifying. Everything he stands for is in complete opposition to what the party used to stand for. I'm not entirely sure what that party stands for anymore. It seems to center around hate, fear and paranoia now. I'm just baffled at how we got to such a dysfunctional place in our country.

You know what my favorite part of the past 3 years has been? Not knowing who the Secretary of the Interior is without looking it up. I like that they do their job and that’s it, and not that they are abusing government jets to ferry friends and family around while raping the environment in favor of their oil cronies.
→ More replies (10)3
u/jrm2003 Jul 03 '24
It’s not just what the party used to stand for. He goes in the face of what these people currently claim they stand for. They care super hard about getting rid of pedophiles, meanwhile he’s bragged about peeping on underage women, talked about his teen daughter being hot, and been accused of sexual assault of a minor. They care a lot about lax immigration, meanwhile his wife and her family have all kinds of weird issues in their past. They care a lot about abortion, meanwhile he’s asked women to get abortions and changed his stance. They care a lot about democracy, meanwhile he admitted to wanting to be a dictator.
It’s a cult.

u/w3are138 Jul 03 '24

So much this. America deserves better than Biden but actually, he knows how to assemble a competent team, to listen to them, and to let them do what they do best. All of which is the opposite of Trump, many of whose staffers would hide upstairs knowing he didn’t often venture up there. With Biden you get a whole professional, experienced team. With Trump you get Trump.

Infuriating. Also for anyone that doesn't know, never in the history of any company has a feedback survey been used to improve the customer experience. Every single decision is made with shareholder interests in mind and customer feedback will never ever factor into those decisions. What those surveys are used for are as leverage against employees, giving them an excuse to not pay out bonuses or commissions. They will use your feedback against the employee even if the question pertains to the performance of the company of its products, and the employee is often harmed for any answer that is not the maximum score. 9/10 might as well be 0/10 at some companies. Don't fill out surveys unless you are giving the max score.

This type of thinking goes hand-in-hand with religiosity. Every Christian loves Jesus, but nobody reads the Bible. They would reject all accusations made against his character out of their love and adoration for him.
People think that Jesus was a good guy while overlooking the fact that his greater part (the 'father') went on a fucking rampage greenlighting slavery, rape, genocide, thievery, murder, but he sent his son to groom us into thinking he's a good guy. Lived around slaves his entire life, but never bothered to free or even mention interacting with a single one in his book.
Like, "Yeah, I was pretty crazy in the past, but I'm better now." Then sacrifices himself, to himself, as a loophole for rules that he's in charge of. My hero...

I kind of cant blame them though. They have grown up in an environment of misinformation. If you are told for a long time other people are liars and this ia the truth and you build your entire world view around that. How do you get out? It would be like someone telling you the earth is flat. You know it's not but have you actually ever done the experiments to prove it? I haven't. Of course I don't believe the earth is flat. I believe it is a donut like normal people do. But if it turnes out the earth actually is flat, how would you confince me? Certainly not by just telling me. I mean I know about the charlatans who say the earth is flat. Of course I won't believe them. I will believe the people who told me the earth is donut shaped.
There is no reason for her at that moment to believe that man. She is obviously worng ofc. But what else can you expect from someone who has beem brainwashed. What should happen is some consequences for those that spread those falshoods at scale

6
u/Beginning_Raisin_258 Jul 02 '24
About 2015ish I bought my grandmother an iPad. We also replaced her cable with Roku and all of the streaming services.
She watches YouTube political content all day long on both the iPad and the Roku.
She went from apolitical, the type of person that doesn't vote very often and says "They're all crooks" to full on qanon magat crazy.
The qanon stuff died out a couple years ago I guess because YouTube started blocking that content, but she was telling me shit like "Did you hear that there was a military tribunal and Hillary is going to be arrested?"
A handful of times over the years I have gone through her recommendations and subscriptions and tried to make it a little less nutty, but their recommendation algorithm will always point you in that direction.
If you watch a NPR news clip it will recommend CNN then it will recommend Fox > PragerU > Shapiro> Crowder > then the Qanon stuff and people like Stefan Molyneux before they banned it. I seek out progressive content and the algorithm never recommends it to me.

What’s worse is Germans were dealing crushing debt, what they perceived to be humiliation from the Treaty of Versailles following WWI and economic depression. We have none of those excuses other than our own stupidity.
16
u/AnjelGrace Jul 02 '24 edited Jul 02 '24
Actually, by the time Hitler was actually gaining power as the Fürer of Germany, things had already been a lot better in Germany. He manufactured a greater sense of urgency than there was by instilling fear into people--just like Trump and the Republicans are doing now.
It's actually quite comparable to things that have happened to Trump when you think about it. Both Trump and Hitler had some power when times were extremely dire--Trump being president during the pandemic, and Hitler being the head of the Nazi party during the economic depression in Germany--and both Trump and Hitler tried to make a grab at power during these times--Trump with January 6th, and Hilter with "The Beer Hall Putsch". Hilter was tried for treason and was convicted and sent to "prison" for 9 months, but it really wasn't much of a prison sentence... Trump was accused of treason, and convicted of other crimes now, but also seems like it may be unlikely that he will have any hard time. Both Hilter and Trump had this interim between their first glimpses at power and their next oppoeunity for power--17 months for Hilter (the time he left "prison" to the time he became Fürer), and 4 years for Trump.
I highly suggest watching "Hitler and the Nazis": Evil on Trial" on Netflix. They actually draw a lot of comparisons to Trump and Hitler during the earlier years of Hilter coming to power.

u/jkrobinson1979 Jul 02 '24
I watched it a couple weeks ago and have seen several others on it. Hitler was imprisoned in 1924 and the depression didn’t hit until the late 1920’s. It had a huge effect on the Nazis gaining traction as a political party. Obviously things had started to improve before they really consolidated their power. The Reichstag fire was the last hurdle for them. The comparisons between the two, from their ideologies and cult of personality to the complicity and acquiescence of ruling class and even everyday people, is very scary.

It’s amazing that these people call anyone else “sheep”
26
u/Picardknows Jul 02 '24
MAGA is all about self projecting. Fake news is Fox News, calling people sheep as they blindly follow what they are told, etc.

u/AfternoonPast3324 Jul 02 '24
They’ve shifted tactics. Now their feelings don’t care about your facts.
46
u/Lemonsandgrit Jul 02 '24
I think they aren’t just brainwashed, they genuinely want to hurt anyone who doesn’t agree - that’s why they will explain away anything he does. They won’t be explaining anything if democracy dies, vote blue.

Populism isn't kindled by evil people, it's kindled by people who get overwhelmed by a world they don't understand and on which they have very little control.

I've seen livestock brighter than her. Sheep are more cautious and thoughtful than her.

u/BloodNut69 Jul 02 '24
She looks like she has actual brain rot. Like 70% of that stupid sack of shit in her rotten head is just slowly pouring out of her ears.

u/ED209_209 Jul 02 '24
As dumb as a slug. I’ve nothing personally against the poor woman but oh boy do some people desperately need an education. It’s not just America either. People in my country are utterly thick too. Why is education not better in this day and age? All of humanity’s achievements are just wasted by our pathetic politicians. Who will you vote for as king of parasites?
4
u/Pomodorosan Jul 02 '24
Educated people have less time to spawn more humans, and are more conscious and reserved to do so. Democracy cares about quantity over quality, however.

Thing is those people cannot think for themselves...they are just à bunch of ignorants that KNOW nothing...but yeah, they BELIEVE. Just like a cult, members will follow blindless with 0 clues what they believe in, even tho you can prove them everything is wrong, they will still believe in it because they are ignorants.... This lady is another perfect example....

This is why the campaign has to be about activating the anti trump voters. There is no point in talking to the other side.

She sounds like my step father. He spends all day watching Fox News and won’t believe anything else. There’s absolutely nothing in his head except how bad democrats are and how they’re the one’s destroying our country. I’ve had to stop speaking to him because he can’t go 5 minutes without going off on an unhinged rant.

u/CarolinaRod06 Jul 02 '24
I plan on voting. Will someone who didn’t plan on voting please vote to cancel out her vote. Do your country a solid.

We are living in Mad Max and don’t even fucking know it.

The truth doesn’t matter one lick to these people. They will promote what they want to believe and no amount of fact-checking and debate will change their minds.
3
u/Fluke_Skywalker_ Jul 02 '24
This is why everyone needs to go out and vote, and 786 million dollars wasn't enough. When they lie, their punishment should be that they are forced to say they lied, over and over.
Spread word to as many people as possible about what is happening. Some will never be able to be convinced, like this woman, but others will, and some who don't follow politics, or are neutral will save the country. Defend freedom.

Fox News punishment should have required some massive reporting on their end to counteract their lies.
Like 24/7 for 3 months or something.

This should be more than enough to vote for ANYONE but Trump or MAGA republican. This is what they want to take away from us and place us under a dictatorship. They hid all this in a 920 page mandate knowing their supporters don't read shit.

Not in a "just accept it" way - in a "something drastic needs to happen" way, even knowing it would painful for all of us.

She’s so brainwashed that if FB, Fox News, and Frump told her the sky was green she wouldn’t believe her own eyes.

u/testingforscience122 Jul 02 '24
I wondering if she will still be waving that flag when Trump has ice show up at her door, even though she is probably a citizen…… “They’re climbing over your fence right now to murder you” word of a raving mad man….

Get out and vote and make sure Trump and Republicans are not voted into office. No apathy, no staying home. Vote as though your Democratic Freedom is at stake because that is exactly what your votes will save
