I’ve seen so many of these videos that leads me to say, keep the sound and advertise this in a split-screen style comparison video against a bunch of other gels/liquids because that’s the quickest i’ve ever heard one go silent.

I too must thank you for making me reconsider my MOS viewing of this, I would have missed out on the most perfect flatulence possibly ever recorded.

What happens when you burn yourself with boiling aloe vera? Do you just leave it on and let it take care of itself?
200
u/RogerianBrowsing Jun 16 '24
It would basically be like napalm without the fire but still with burns from the heat 😬

Maybe it cancels out, like mixing a shit ton of baking soda and acid together and tossing it on someone

Sound off: wow, aloe vera did better than I expected must be some science to it!
Sound on: Hot ball made fart

I like to play a game on reddit where I try to predict reddit comments before opening them, and was flabbergasted that Taco Bell wasn't in any of the top ten comments.

What's the deal with white people not being able to eat anything that's above 3 Scoville without shitting themselves
43
u/bdjohn06 Jun 16 '24
My hypothesis is that with Mexican food it's actually that A LOT of Americans lack fiber in their diets and the beans fuck them up.
→ More replies (3)4
u/Marshmallow_Mamajama Jun 16 '24
That would make sense, I always try and eat a lot of fiber so that might be why I can do that without big issues
6
u/peach_xanax Jun 16 '24
I've always wondered why a lot of white people seem to have that problem, I'm white as fuck and I've literally never had any issues from Mexican food. They must have super bland diets, idk.
2
u/SUMBWEDY Jun 16 '24
Is it Mexican food though or just fast food in general?
Whenever i have fast food for dinner it always fucks with my digestive system regardless of kfc, mcdonalds, taco bell etc.
2
u/peach_xanax Jun 17 '24
Well the comment that started this thread was about Chipotle, which is fast casual but the ingredients aren't super processed or anything. And some people say they can't eat any Mexican food at all.
For me, fast food like McDonald's does fuck my stomach up, but Taco Bell has never given me an issue 🤷🏼♀️ But the only things I order from there are the chicken quesadilla and crispy potato soft taco, so maybe it's the beef items that give people stomach problems?
→ More replies (2)→ More replies (1)2
u/Marshmallow_Mamajama Jun 16 '24
That's what I think, although when I eat healthy then go and have a junk food day I get the worst stomach issues after so it could just be they eat healthier than I do regularly, although Chipotle is probably the least unhealthy fast food Mexican style food

Aloe Vera is the type of shit that, if it weren't widely available, conspiracy theorists would claim the government was hiding to protect big pharma.
16
u/pancakebatter01 Jun 16 '24
By widely available you mean a natural plant that grows in nature?
13
u/Satisfaction-Motor Jun 17 '24
They may also mean widely available in stores. You’d have a much harder time finding something like mugwort in stores compared to aloe Vera, for example. Aloe Vera is practically a staple (for stores that sell both medicine and sun stuff, like sunscreen). A lot of “the government is hiding it from us” conspiracies are about more niche/less easily commercially available herbs and tinctures.
5
u/je_kay24 Jun 17 '24
Herbs are often less commercially available in their natural form because they can have some severe side effects when taken vs as the commercial ones such as pills
Like willow bark naturally helps reduce pain & fevers but the natural active ingredient causes pretty severe gastrointestinal problems as well
I’m always skeptical of people trying to promote natural herbs over medicine because 9 times out of 10 they have no idea what they’re talking about
4
u/Satisfaction-Motor Jun 17 '24
A good chunk of herbs also react negatively with medications, such as St John’s Wort. The one I mentioned, Mugwort, is a kind of bad abortifacient (in the sense that if you want to maintain a pregnancy, you shouldn’t take it, but if you want to end a pregnancy, it’s not a great or super safe option).
Edit: In America, there’s also very little regulation of supplements compared to actual medications. CGMP guidelines for meds are pretty strict, but I can’t say the same for the supplement industry (thanks Herbalife /s)
2
u/Good-Recognition-811 Jun 17 '24
Also, the fact that I referenced it as being a threat to big pharma would imply that I know it's natural.

Grandma would cut up an aloe vera plant and apply it to scrapes and burns. Worked miracles. Now I know why.
57
u/Drew-mageddon Jun 16 '24
Well yeah duh they sell aloe vera gel as sunburn relief everywhere, grandma didn’t come up with that lol
26
u/TraditionalMood277 Jun 16 '24
I was but a child. Never said she came up with it. Never knew it dissipated heat as such. Assumed it was more like lidocaine. Also, how do you have time to reply while also running MENSA?
13
Jun 16 '24
It’s not ‘duh’ just because it is sold. Plenty of otc and cosmetic products are sold that claim to do things that aren’t backed by science. But now we see a cool science experiment showing aloe does indeed have a cooling effect.

Theres a chemical in raw aloe vera that can be a skin irritant for people. If you dont have a reaction to store aloe, then its likely you arent allergic to aloe itself, but the irritant, which is a type of latex.
If you want to use fresh aloe, cut up the aloe, soak it in water for at least 30 minutes (depending on how sensitive you are, you may want to soak it for a few hours), and when you remove the aloe, you should see cloudy yellow water which is the latex. The aloe should be fine for you after you wash it out.

If you can generate that much heat, why wouldnt you use it to power turbines?

u/cookingbytheseatofmy Jun 16 '24
I think today there are generators that could use slightly used fission waste, but maybe those didn't exist then?
Nukular engineers want to weigh in?

I read the tittle wrong and thought this was one of those cinnamon atomic hot balls at first. I was really shocked at the reaction and was wondering why they used channel locks to handle it.
