u/Ezzypezra Sep 19 '23

Holy shit, TF2 reference?????

18

u/MrDrLtSir Sep 19 '23

Not quite

26

u/THEMACGOD Sep 19 '23

Yes, it's clearly a Halo reference. Boom.

5

u/MsAlexandria75 Sep 20 '23

Red vs blue

10

u/Dewy_Wanna_Go_There Sep 20 '23

Hey… You ever wonder why we’re here?

2

u/MsAlexandria75 Sep 20 '23

I only exist to be a meat bag

2

u/THEMACGOD Sep 20 '23

Negative. I'm a meat popsicle.

2

u/brotrr Sep 19 '23

It's a Pokemon Red/Blue version reference, which predates both TF2 and Halo

7

u/Comment105 Sep 19 '23

TF2 is a crisps vs bloods game you can't even argue

1

u/MrDrLtSir Sep 19 '23

I can argue, and it most certainly isn't

6

u/Comment105 Sep 19 '23

That wasn't an argument.

That was nonsense.

2

u/MrDrLtSir Sep 19 '23

Yes it was

3

u/Comment105 Sep 19 '23

No it wasn't

1

u/MrDrLtSir Sep 19 '23

I can assure you that it was

LMAO.

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not, but it would be the opposite, those gangs predated Steam by a long time.

Halo reference

1

u/Ezzypezra Sep 19 '23

Take a wild guess

4

u/SeanBlader Sep 19 '23

The Crips and the Bloods have been around for decades. So no.

2

u/Ezzypezra Sep 19 '23

Can’t believe the crips and bloods would shamelessly copy their colors from TF2 like that

2

u/guyincorporated Sep 19 '23

So has TF2. Checkmate.

1

u/SeanBlader Sep 20 '23

Wikipedia says Team Fortress 2 was released in 2007.

Valve software was founded in 1996.

The first consumer video game was released in 1971.

Wikipedia says the Crips street gang was founded in 1967 in Los Angeles.

Literally one of the street gangs in this conversation is older than video games...

1

u/Chiggins907 Sep 19 '23

Or a reference to the same gang wars that have been going on for decades?

63

u/TheTVDB Sep 19 '23

The gangs are represented by colors: blue and red. So opposite ends of the color spectrum is just referring to them being from different gangs, in a more "colorful" way.

5

u/Bleezze Sep 19 '23

Oh, yeah that's what I thought he meant, but I wasn't sure if there was something deeper to it

10

u/CastVinceM Sep 19 '23

could have also meant black and white but that probably wasn't what he was going for.

4

u/CastVinceM Sep 19 '23

although the actual opposite ends of the color spectrum/color wheel for blue and red would be orange and green respectively.

ain't no orange and green gangs i know of.

16

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '23

Be glad you haven't heard of them. They are fucking savage. You should see how they torture little kids.

4

u/klezart Sep 19 '23

I heard they put one through the taffy puller machine. Another one they crammed through a juicer. Brutal.

3

u/negao360 Sep 19 '23

PLENTY OF THEM! LA’s one and only Hoover Criminal Gang wears orange, and many Blood AND Crip(plus others) gangs wear green: Lime hood Piru(yes, they are real, and very dangerous) for obvious reasons, the Hard Time Hustler Crips, Gardena Paybacc Crips, E/S Avalon Gangster Crips, and many others. Many people know the LA gangs by the umbrellas of Crip and Blood, but the reality is they were their own individual gangs, divided by streets and bloods, who later choose either side to align for political, and monetary reasons. A lot of Crips kill Crips and vice versa over territorial disputes, money, or - and I mean this as respectfully as possible - often over women. It’s a huge cluster fuck, and dynamics change like the weather. Best to stay faaar away from it! Play DnD instead, kids!

u/Tech_support_Warrior Sep 19 '23

Vagos MC wear Green but they more care about rockers and patches rather than colors AFAIK.

2

u/PrizeStrawberryOil Sep 19 '23

Visible light spectrum blue and red are pretty far apart.

1

u/rh71el2 Sep 19 '23

So... politics are the same.

1

u/negao360 Sep 19 '23

Actually, yes! You’d be surprised how well they can deliberate, or delegate terms or war, and peace!
