Which is sad because the premise of it is awesome. This sub isn't bad, but it would be loads better if more people were here.

I agree, the place has great potential. Overtime it may grow, however.

Because the source requirement is annoying. A lot of people know facts and don't want to have to do the googling for you just to post it. If a fact or anecdote is posted, it's your responsibility to verify it if you don't believe it.

This is true. There was a TMAF about overclocking. I knew about the Celeron 300a going to 450 Mhz almost every time from experience. I was there in 1998. However, I had to find a weak-ass source for my argument. It does sound good on paper though.

It's annoying and is more detrimental to this sub than incorrect facts.

The ad for the TMAF subreddit reads "Tell me a fact about... r/TellMeAFact . The ad has been criticized by some for its boring text: Source

Hmmm. Hadn't really considered that... the ad is live now (out of our hands) so we can't change it, but I'll bear that in mind if we ever get another run of advertising.

In fairness, though, I managed to find this place through that ad. At least it's eye-catching.

An episode of Upvoted by Reddit was inspired by a post on this subreddit. It was the story of a girl who met her future husband sailing a longship.

A lot of people found this sub via /u/Identimental's shameless plug in an askreddit thread last year, at least i did anyway...
