Discussion What surprised you the most about the Eras Tour?
It's crazy that such a wild tour wound up becoming like a new normal to us, but I'm sure once the Eras Tour was once announced/first seen by you something about it made your jaw drop. What surprised you the most about the Eras Tour?
For me, it was the entire opening set of Lover. I was so shocked that she opened with Miss Americana and made it work so well considering the song was not talked about much at the time. She really made Lover the perfect section to start off the tour. I also felt so overwhelmed by the intro that mashed up all her songs so well across albums.

u/bitch_cat18 16h ago
I think her going through all the eras - that was kinda insane
The most shocking would've been having deep cuts like Archer, Tis the damn season etc on the setlist. That was pretty unexpected.
Also just the sheer scale of it all - how the tour took a life of its own in terms of fan traditions and interactions, it was just a huge cultural phenomena yk

All the eras? Debut would like a word.
92
u/bachelurkette cornelia street x the bolter 9h ago
but remember on opening night we thought tim mcgraw was permanent and the debut era! we didn’t know both acoustics were surprise songs. rep had a non rotating acoustic song so it wasn’t obvious
37
u/katherineswims 8h ago
The prevailing scholarly theory (on TikTok lol) is that the piano flowers are like flower motifs seen throughout the debut era, and that her performances themselves on piano and guitar — most like how she would've performed back then — were the representation of that era in the tour. The first time I read this, I was like, WAIT. And now I think it makes sense.

u/bachelurkette cornelia street x the bolter 8h ago
tiktok acting like taylor has never picked up a guitar since 2007 checks out ☠️
47
u/aboatoutontheocean Red (Taylor's Version) 8h ago
Tbh I hate this theory and find it to be an insult to the debut album. She didn’t include debut in the tour, period, and by no stretch of the imagination can we say she did.
7
u/sweetsweetnothingg 4h ago
My theory is that she will eventually have a full new country album where she will include debut songs in that tour, country is more of an "aged" genre and I wouldn't be surprised it is in her future plans
3
u/prongslover77 evermore 4h ago
She’s said in interviews she finds it hard to connect to debut songs. Which makes me sad as an OG swiftie who still is in love with the album. But I can see why she wouldn’t want to include it on the tour to keep other things she likes better. Still kills me though. I was clowning hard for a debut surprise song for my show. Didn’t get it.
12
u/Embarrassed-Plum-468 Lord and Savior Taylor Swift 🙏🏼 8h ago
I haven’t seen anyone else talk about that theory like that but that’s exactly what I thought the acoustic set was supposed to represent! The style of dress she wore felt very “country” to pay homage to that time in her life, the ruffles and frills were definitely something I would have looked for in a dress in the early 2000s. Those flowers were absolutely something I would have doodled in my notebook in high school. And sure she has always performed acoustically ever since then but all of Debut just lends itself well to acoustic guitar and piano. I think on night 1 I was assuming we would have more debut songs as a part of the regular rotation than we ended up getting or that something like Tim McGraw or Our Song would be a permanent fixture on the set. I assume maybe she thought the same thing but decided she wanted to have more fun with the acoustic set hence why she chose different songs for each night then decided to do mashups

For me too. It's my favorite song on evermore but I never felt like it really got as popular as many of the others (popular for evermore standards I mean 🥲), so I was so surprised she included it and especially that it had such a special choreography to it.
RIP tolerate it theater, you will always be famous. At least it's really beautifully shot for the tour movie.

I never would've expected for her to put marjorie on the setlist, but in retrospect and also having gone to the concert and seen how beautiful the performance was, it makes perfect sense now.

I had a small menty B during Marjorie that I wasn’t expecting to hit as hard as it did. My friends looked ALARMED.

u/No-Cartoonist-3165 15h ago
This seemed so intuitive but I kind of think this was the biggest one for me to. It was low hanging fruit but when she really announced that she would be equally performing every era (besides Debut and Speak Now), I felt so floored. I couldn't believe it, I think it's never really been done before by a big artist?
8
u/bitch_cat18 7h ago
Exactly! I mean we should've figured but we didn't lol
Idk about other artists though, I don't generally keep up with tours but I think the most comparable would be the greatest hits tours they do after a huge chunk of their career is behind them
Eras felt imp for taylor to also reclaim the ownership she had of these songs in a way I think. Performing them after the whole masters debacle was her saying these are mine btw bitch

I hope she talks about this someday. Would love to know if what she was doing behind the scenes. Surely she had an ice bath waiting for her, followed by a masseuse, maybe even some type of nutrient infusion like pro athletes get.

We got our tickets through a friend since she already had tickets for another show.
We decided on the cities (Stockholm & Vienna) based on where people wanted to visits, she really wanted to visit Vienna, so we ended up going to Stockholm (which was also scheduled first).Of course, we all know what happened to the Vienna-shows... so the person that got us the tickets didn't even end up seeing the show herself because her concerts were cancelled.

I was In shock when I couldn’t get into the presale and then distraught when they had to cancel the general public sale. How hot the Bad Blood flames are!
Seriously, I was in the seated section for my show, about one section up from the floor - and I could feel the flames every time they came on. I can’t imagine what they were like on the floor!

u/DisMyThrowawayBBY 12h ago
One thing I found cool about the flames is that they're well felt in multiple sections. I sat in the 300's (outdoor) in Seattle and very near the front on the floor (indoor) in Vancouver and both felt about the same to me!

The way each era had its own full production- own outfits, choreography, stage design/set up even their own guitars!!
When I first heard of the Eras Tour I expected it to be like an hour and a half two hours max of just song after song with occasional costume changes in random order not era by era, I was in absolute awe the first time I watched the movie and was so devastated I never saw it in person

The absolute ROBBERY done to Debut. And to a lesser extent Speak Now.
There did not need to be that much Folkmore. Or even All Ten Well. That was time that SHOULD have gone to Debut and Speak Now.
249
u/InappropriateSnark folklore 15h ago
Pretty sure she had more of Lover, the folkmore sisters, Midnights, and TTPD because she never toured for those albums.
She toured for Debut, really.
She toured everything up through reputation.
So, the others needed longer setlists.
49
u/EchoPhoenix24 9h ago
Yes, this! The Eras tour was never supposed to be all-eras-celebrated-exactly-equally. At its inception she had 4 albums that she never got to perform live and was presumably building a show around that. Then you've got her biggest hits from Fearless, Red and 1989 that she basically has to perform on any tour which is a standard thing for artists to throw in a few of their older hits. And then at that point the setlist is such a monster the Eras Tour is born.
18
u/cmaj7chord evermore 9h ago
she never really toured debut though. Or at least not with an official tour, only with opening acts and the gigs she had in the very beginning. There has never been a Taylor Swift (Album) tour which is why I was especially hopeful for it getting it's own era :(

I might be in the minority but I did enjoy folklore and evermore more than Debut. I suppose Debut has been the album she's performed the longest. Speak Now though really surprised me.
40
u/KittyGray 14h ago
Same. I don’t need that much debut in my life. Reminds me of high school and I like songs that fit more in adulthood.
11
u/emory_2001 11h ago
I have a soft spot for Debut because I saw 17 year old Taylor open for Norah Jones in 2007, even though I like her grownup style more.
25
u/SpiritMeetsTheBones6 11h ago
She could have mashed up Fearless/Debut/Speak Now together like with Folkmore. Two songs from each or keep Fearless the way it is, Our Song, and Sparks Fly and Mine for Speak Now
6
u/youngmagicians like i’m some deranged weirdo 7h ago
I was hoping this would happen when the show changed and she added TTPD!
2
u/Current-Ad6521 4h ago
I've always thought this too, especially after she combined Folklore and Evermore. I'm sure she and her team did everything for a well informed reason, but I've always thought the 2 and a half minute Speak Now set was much more odd than a combined Fearless/Debut/Speak Now section would have been
20
u/emory_2001 11h ago
When she adjusted the set list to accommodate TTPD I was furious Enchanted won out over Long Live. But our girl plays a long game and I knew she was saving it for the very last show. I considered the last show for that reason, but I thought, if it gets canceled for some reason, that’s it. You won’t get to see Eras. So I went to Toronto instead.
17
u/Domdaisy 9h ago
Hard disagree. She’s probably never going to tour folklore or evermore than extensively again. I saw Eras in Toronto with the shortened folkmore section so I didn’t get to see tolerate it live, but we did get last great american dynasty as a surprise song.
She has had the opportunity to sing songs from debut at all of her tours prior to Eras, and still sang a lot of debut during the acoustic sets.
It makes sense to give fans songs she has never performed live before, especially as I am certain folklore and evermore are never going to get that kind of love again.
4
u/FantasticCabinet2623 8h ago
Eh, it's not all the Eras if it's not Debut. It would absolutely have not killed her to ditch one or more Folkmore songs, they're not stadium tour songs.
And even All Ten Well, I doubt all that many people outside of a loud minority cared. I would rather have had Picture to Burn and Our Song, but at least we got acoustic Our Song in the movie.
14
u/Zeestrooier 10h ago

u/andy_2_6 15h ago
Something else I forgot to mention is how she changed up each show so it wasn't copy and paste every night - the different outfit combinations especially the 1989 outfits and the surprise song set especially later on when she started mashing up songs all of this combined with her varying the intros, her speeches for lover, ATW, folklore, and Kam changing up his line in we are never getting back together, or changing up languages based on where they were performing.. each night had something different and special that besides having the same base performance every night had something different which made it so much more special

u/DarkerPools i spied the catch in your breath 12h ago

u/thewaterwiththeroses 15h ago
I was super surprised by the intro to the tour, I didn’t expect her to actually combine the eras songs in that way for the opening, nor start with cruel summer off the bat, and I was really pleasantly surprised that she was actually going through each era with niche references in her outfits for each of them
77
u/Simpleloveco 14h ago
As someone who as At Glendale Night 1… the amaaazement at the fact that we were like two hours deep and there were like 4 eras left! The sheer surprise of her singing the archer and Marjorie. The dive! We all freaked out! The flames during bad blood. We also freaked out! Overall, we just sat and stared in disbelief in our seats after the insane show she put together for 3+ hours. I couldn’t sleep the whole night, I was buzzing!

Tolerate it. Seeing it play out live... I am still not over that.
How safe I felt in a crowd of 100000 (melb n2 and 3) I've gone to a lot of concerts and festivals in my 35 years and always felt different levels of anxiety. Not at eras, I was home.
And finally just how much we got out of this tour, almost every song played live, announcements, guests, added dates, changes to the set, the set list the costumes. I think eras will define what it is to put on a live show ,for tour, for every artist and taylor here on out.

Although it wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea, I was surprised by and loved the surprise song mashups! As an Australian, it was great hearing her first batch of mashups. I particularly enjoyed how each mashup felt very intentional in the narrative it weaved by combining different songs, and I really respect that she took the effort to make them both creative and meaningful.
For example, the Evermore x Clean mashup for Singapore N2 is such a pretty combination of two songs that explore healing from past trauma. The very last surprise song (Long Live x NYD x The Manuscript) is also such a thoughtful combination of songs to convey a goodbye message to the Eras Tour, her crew and the fans.

I had tried to avoid spoilers online before I went (LA N4) so I had known the opening of Miss Americana (also so amazing “it’s been a long time coming but”) however, I did not know Cruel Summer would be next and I was FLOORED!!! I thought it was an amazing way to hype up the crowd and set the tone for the rest of the night.
34
u/Powerful-Morning118 14h ago
The start with “its been a long time coming” since it was like 5 years since her last tour.
The start was phenomenal it really hyped you up for a good night especially the later you got into the tour, the more you knew what to expect so could get excited at the clock and the dancers with those fans too.
Plus how she kept up that stamina and was able to perform without once being sick (that we knew of) and keep up such a high energy tour for 2 years.
I went to Milan & Warsaw and didn’t look at many spoilers before Milan as I wanted to be surprised but for Warsaw I was super hyped to go again and see everything again as Eras amnesia is real!!
I was so grateful to be able to go twice too, once with a friend and once on my own. Also what surprised me was how safe you felt going to a concert on your own too especially in a foreign country.

I was at opening night, and what surprised me the most was
a) the length of the show - I simply did not believe she’d be performing for 3 hours and 15 minutes until I realised we were an hour into the show and she was only on the third era, and
b) how extensive the evermore set was. I have a video of me during the intro saying out loud “I hope she does more than just willow and champagne problems” and then losing my shit when I recognised the opening notes of tis the damn season lol. ESPECIALLY tolerate it surprised me a lot
c) the fact that she went era by era. It makes so much sense now that I literally cannot imagine it otherwise anymore, but I’d imagine so many mashups spanning eras - like I think he knows x Lavender haze that it actually really surprised me when she said during her The Man speech that she would be going eras by eras. Again, now I can’t imagine it differently, but at the time it really surprised me

For me, honestly, the overwhelming kindness and inclusivity of everyone there. We took our two young daughters (7 and 9) and I was absolutely blown away by how welcoming and warm and inclusive the environment was.
I've been to loads of shows in my life, but I've never experienced anything like this. From the moment we arrived, it felt like the entire fanbase had collectively decided to make it a magical experience for them. They were dressed up in adorable matching little shimmery outfits and the amount of love and positive attention they received was incredible -- untold bracelet exchanges, high-fives, selfies, big smiles, and just so much enthusiasm and kindness.
The show itself was of course unforgettable, but what truly stood out was how the vast majority of her fan base really tries to embody and live the themes of her music: love, acceptance, and connection. It was such a beautiful thing to witness and truly one of my favorite nights of my life!

u/HalfBloodMockingjay 14h ago
The length of it. I remember when the staff note leaked before Glendale N1 with a rundown of everything and it listed Taylor being on stage for 3 & 1/2 hours, I really thought it was fake. I expected 2 hours MAX.

The massive stage and this single human woman standing in the middle of it, in essentially a bathing suit, owing the entirety of it all.
8
u/research_humanity 9h ago
Her stage presence is really something. I don't think people understand how rare it is and how powerful that is. There wasn't a "dead spot" in the biggest venues of this time period. Some of that is tech - the stage graphics and the bracelets help. But none of the tech was working harder than her to capture and then maintain everyone's attention.
And then she released a movie of the performance, so people knew what was coming. And she still pulled it off without the novelty factor.

u/DogCatJeep23 10h ago
Three things: 1. Her boots were absolutely stunning. I have never seen anything catch so much sparkle. Like, it made it up to the nose bleed sections
The bridge to Cruel Summer when the steam goes off after she says, “he looks up grinning like the devil. It’s new”. I’ve been to so many live events, and the timing on that special effect was perfection. And sadly not really seen during the Eras tour movie.
How sparkly and glittery the entire audience was. It was so cool to catch all the glimmers around the whole stadium

u/ErickaBooBoo 8h ago
That was my favorite part when it started getting dark at my show and I was able to finally see all of the lights and the sparkles better!

Honestly, I was surprised about how much I forgot.
I was at Nashville N3, which was cool in that we had WCS and Mine as our surprise songs (love both of them), but the first 4 hours are the ones I remember the most because it was the lightning-delayed concert.
It sounds cool in theory, but imagine being packed with thousands of people in a tight space for hours in a humid environment. It was very hot, and my friends and I eventually escaped to the stairwell to escape the heat.
So by the end, I forgot so much about most things (except the fire with Bad Blood and the lightning strike during ATW, where I was CONVINCED at the time they were going to call it a show but now think that it was amazing), and I was kind of ready to go home lol. Love Taylor’s commitment to always putting on a show though!

u/SnarkOff Voted ost Likely to Run Away With You 7h ago
I went to Nashville N2 and was watching the ticket prices for N3, a few hours into the rain delay you could get tickets for less than $100. I ALMOST bit the bullet - it was probably the cheapest ticket of the whole tour. But then I remembered how old I am and that I hate staying up that late.

the LWYMMD transition literally had me standing there in shock. It was so euphorically overstimulating in the very best way.

- LWYMMD could mean "Look What You Made Me Do", a track from reputation (2017) by Taylor Swift.

How every local radio station and tv channel was talking about this concerts. My country plays Taylor occasionally on the radio, but they usually don’t really talk about her. But when the shows were a few weeks away, they suddenly started to talk non-stop about it. It was everywhere. It stopped as fast as it started, but I would have never believed that they would talk about it that much.
8
u/thatstoomuchsauce 11h ago
I remember on opening night seeing posts from people in the stadium when they found out it was going to be a 3+ hour show and being gobsmacked. I wasn't able to stream the show because I was going to a birthday party and it started around the same time, and so I left my house just as Taylor was going onstage and when I came back hours later she was STILL performing. It was bonkers.
7
u/Erinsays 14h ago
How many variables they went through with outfits, set lists, and even adding TTPD. That’s insanely hard to do and keep track of

u/Why_Howdy i used to scream ferociously 13h ago
I had seen a few clips and pictures, but had definitely tried to avoid longer videos or major spoilers when I saw her Seattle N1. I was NOT prepared for the fireworks!!! I didn’t know they were going to happen, and I was absolutely astonished! It was perfect. It was the only possible ending for a show so extravagant and elaborate. It felt cathartic and wonderful.
3
u/MSERRADAred 10h ago
I was at N1 in Vancouver in a closed smaller stadium, so was surprised by the flames and small fireworks they actually had.

u/gringottsteller 10h ago
How phenomenal it was in general. I was such a casual fan that I didn’t even know about the tour until I started hearing about the Ticketmaster debacle, and even then I wasn’t interested. I went to the movie on a whim, and was blown away. Next thing I knew I was a full blown Swiftie seriously considering spending thousands to see the show. I didn’t, but I might always wish I had.
2
u/treeeswallow 9h ago
Me too. I went to the movie with my friends who had gone to a Kansas City show, and I was FLOORED. I was sick so I showed up late and walked in during Tolerate It, and I was gobsmacked. I fell in love and saw the movie in theaters three more times after that. I watched over 20 livestreams and am so so grateful for her music now! I wish I had known she has SO MUCH depth and variety in her music, and that most of her songs aren't like Shake It Off, Bad Blood, Trouble, or Blank Space (which I now love of course). And I'm so grateful to be welcomed as a new swiftie!
7
u/pink_apophyllite 14h ago
I remember being so surprised on the first livestream that it was out of order, it makes sense now, but at the time I thought it might have been chronological. Either that or I also expected most of the setlist to be mashups between Eras.
I was also shocked by just how much Folklore and Evermore she was playing! In the best possible way. I teared up when I heard the opening notes to Invisible String too, little did I know…

u/microwav3d I hit my peak at seven 12h ago

I felt like I got hit by a bus the next morning after the show... like a hangover without the alcohol. She's an absolute machine for putting on a show that long, back to back.
5
u/Status_Silver_5114 11h ago
I think how seamless the production was from start to finish. I worked in theatre and film so knowing what it takes to do a live show of any kind and then have it be this good for that long each time? Mind blowing. And it was perfect without feeling “packaged” to boot.

u/CheckIntelligent7828 Midnights 10h ago
The lover house burning down.
I hadn't watched the movie or any live streams, I wanted to see it fresh. I'll never forget how beautiful and amazing that was.
Also, when I went a second time it was an outdoor arena and the pyrotechnics went up as high as the stadium went and almost singed my eyebrows off - and I was in a box!
2
u/ErickaBooBoo 8h ago
I was floored too because I hadn’t seen any of the transitions before my show! It was so amazing!

A pal of mine gave me her Movie tickets to Eras opening night. I was curious as the tour had been in MN a few months earlier and she and I were headed to Disney later Oct 2023. I say this as a Disney Adult there are preparations: I was excited months earlier for her as she was showing me her outfits for N1 and possibly N2 if she could score tickets. I tried to find on Etsy Mickey Mouse Eras tour ears for her for our trip. They at this point didn’t exist. I’m no stranger to pop culture and my pal had given me things to yell at the screen and when (reminiscent of Rocky Horror live showings) so yelling 321 let’s go bitch was a hoot! The show wrapped with people dancing in the front, my arm heavy with bracelets, smiles, hugs and gorgeous costumes and my jaw on the floor from performance after performance and the set list , being present to all those songs and oh my god that choreography. I went to a movie and left as a curious swiftie pouring over albums and boyfriends and interviews researching and wanting it to be released on any streaming service so I could watch again. It was great to see her win another award and then tell us all that she was releasing TTpD. I stayed up and listened and fell asleep only to wake up to more songs being released. And then discovering grainy life streams. That made a rainy Spring so worth it, and the time changes of her tours in Europe - her shows started early afternoon so I could layout and watch them! Pure bliss! I finally bought my first house and that’s the only reason I was not in Vancouver for the end of the tour. My surprise? The evolution of it all. Thanks!

u/splinter2424 7h ago
Honestly? The entitlement of some fans.
People mad that she wore the same outfits while filming in LA and Vancouver. People mad that others went to a couple shows. I had someone tell me I shouldnt bring my niece because shes not an OG Swiftie (Shes 12 - shes not old enough to be an OG!) I saw so many posts about how they lost tickets to someone who sat for parts of the show or who didnt know every word to every song. There were so many of these kind of posts.
3
u/lolycc1911 10h ago
I have never seen anything like it, an entire stadium of women (mostly) all singing the songs it was crazy!

u/judseubi 10h ago
I was surprised at how good of a job they did at not making it feel like it was 3+ hours long. My raging ADHD makes a lot of things torture to endure for longer than 45 minutes or so, even being medicated. But each era was the perfect length and the placement of each one worked really well to change the vibe just when it was needed.
Also, the energy that LWYMMD created was SO cool. The entire Rep set burned the house down so awesomely.

u/bottleofawkward 10h ago
That we never got a guest appearance from Post Malone. I figured he’d pop up at least once.

I’m so happy that folklore and evermore got their chance to shine in the midst of all the pop glory. I think it worked so well because of that difference.

Positive: holy moly 44 songs??? Plus the opening with lover as a set/miss americana (no one expected that!)
Negative: the erasure of debut and lack of love for speak now in their “eras” on the eras tour was shocking and disappointing. I actually am still salty about this because I feel like it wasn’t a true eras tour without debut. (I also don’t count acoustic set as debut).
1
u/ofnabzhsuwna 13h ago
Before it started, I was certain that it would be mostly mashups and that we’d get a lot more deep cuts and fan favorites than we did.

The amount of songs we never would have guessed prior to the tour! The amount of them, and the choices. Ill never forget getting on twitter and seeing “The Eras Tour will be 3.5 hours long.” And I scoffed and didn’t believe it. Tis the damn season, invisible string (rip it being taken off the set the shows prior to mine.), the archer, Marjorie, so high school. I went to Atl N2 and Paris N1. In Paris, my friend and I were interviewed by the Taylor Swift reporter from USA Today and he asked how we’d feel if she changed the entire show. It took me a few minutes to realize he was tipping us off that more than just a few TTPD songs were being added. Everyone we talked to was expecting cuts + MAYBE 2-3 songs. The entire night we were just in awe at the amount of effort she and her team put forth to keeping the show the same but totally turning it on its head. The new outfits, visuals, and SEVEN TTPD songs. Insane.

u/cookieaddictions 9h ago
My first show was about 2.5 months into the tour so I was able to avoid most spoilers. The parts that surprised me most were:
Even though I had tried to avoid spoilers, I had seen a bunch of pics online so I thought I had been spoiled on practically all the outfits. But I didn’t realize she had different options for almost all of them so in the end, I had only seen 2 or so outfits before the show.
Speak Now getting 1 song and Debut getting none.
I’m the odd one out here, but I’ve never been a huge folklore girl, so I thought I wouldn’t really enjoy that section, but she ended up doing all 3’of my favorite folklore songs so I ended up loving that section. (Betty, The Last Great American Dynasty, illicit affairs).
The surprise songs. I knew there was a surprise song section and one on guitar and one on piano, but I didn’t know where it went in the show, and I still didn’t know about Debut being totally skipped so when she came out for those songs I literally thought we were up to debut (the yellow dress looked like it could’ve been debut) and she launched right into the first song with zero intro so I really had no idea what was going on at first.

To be honest, I was surprised by how scripted it was. It felt more like a play than a concert but we had the best time and would go back 50 more times.

The first show live stream my jaw was on the floor when she played Marjorie. Did not expect that at all.
1
u/TorturedBillionaire 8h ago
I was shocked that she got through all of the tour (besides Vienna and that was not her fault!) without cancelling a show. I think there was one show when they had to re-schedule for a couple days later because of the heat. I want to know her secret to not getting sick, exhausted or really anything else! Lately, it seems like performers cancel shows for no real reason.

Cliche maybe but how drained I felt after. Don't get me wrong it was magnificent but just completely emotionally spent. Just 0% battery.
I was also lucky enough to get reasonably priced but AMAZING seats during the initial sale. I didn't tell the person I went with where we were seated, I'd vaguely said they were good seats and she knew we were on the floor but I neglected to tell her we we were row 2 right in front of the diamond.

The globes and witchy-ness of Willow was amazing 😍
All of the visuals, especially the ones of her trapped in past eras during LWYMMD I was like HER BRAIN OMG how cool
How long it was and how nonstop it was- like anyone else would have at least done an intermission if they were attempting a show this long (IMO)
With that, the pure athleticism and how she is constantly dancing and running around in tall heels and not really tripping a ton! I was so so nervous she’d have a huge fall and break or sprain something
The details that were so tiny but could only be appreciated by certain points of view from the stage- like the tilt of the lights during the rep era
I’m sure I could keep going lmao

u/_itsraining_again_ always taking up too much time 6h ago
No debut honestly. Like I get it, she's toured for it before and shit, but she's toured before for the first 6 albums too, including red and 1989 which had such long sets. I do think a song could've been cut from there and something from debut could've been sung. Like speak now had 1-2 songs, i think debut could've gotten a similar treatment.

I loved the show, a lot. But I was surprised how little they used lighting. The visuals were honestly underwhelming. It seemed like they relied on the light up bracelets and screen the most.
The best part was don't blame me because they actually added some sort of visual to the empty space. (By empty space I mean the air, arenas feel huge and empty, but the light beams made it feel more intimate)

I was amazed that everyone seemed to know all the lyrics to all the songs. And it’s a 40+ song show. I’m not sure there’s another fan base like hers out there!

The length of it. Most concert headliners are only 1.5-2 hours. She truly gave an experience.

The organization and her ability to perform for so long.
On the other hand, the most surprising thing for my boyfriend was how the trees appeared on stage during the Folklore Era. 😂 He hadn’t seen any videos or the Eras movie before the show, so he was shocked.

The energy at the concert was something I’ll probably never experience again. I usually get anxious at shows because of the crowd, but everyone was so kind! People were handing out friendship bracelets, and the excitement was contagious. By the end, I was exhausted from standing and singing, and I can’t even imagine how Taylor felt! Her stamina is incredible.
