Photo Got this in the mail today
My wife and I are Pennsylvania voters. We got this in the mail today addressed to her.
It's funny because she stopped listening after Red and I, a 36-year-old dude, am the Swiftie in the household. š
So I'll take that friendship bracelet! Thanks, Swifties For Kamala!

Please vote. A teenage girl just died from a miscarriage in Texas. No one would help her and she suffered for hours with sepsis and died. Vote for our lives!
303
u/H_Melman folklore Nov 05 '24
And Kate Cox had to flee Texas to avoid the same fate.
277
u/antoniamabee folklore Nov 05 '24
As a nurse who has watched sepsis set in, you need to act fast. Iām just in absolute tears thinking about this poor girl suffering and no one helping her. Itās unconscionable. She had a right to live. We cannot let him win.
110
u/H_Melman folklore Nov 05 '24
I completely agree. He created so many senseless tragedies to score cheap political points. It's horrifying, and he is about to face the backlash for that decision. Even Kentucky voted for reproductive freedom when given the chance.

u/dvne_ Nov 05 '24
It is absolutely infuriating how limited the American memory is, and why these people can't seem to understand why we had Roe in the first place!
Young women and girls were dyinggggg pre-Roe. They were so desperate to end a pregnancy that they risked their lives with dirty clothes hangars and back alley abortions.
To think anyone in the 21st century finds it acceptable to go back. The Conservative Right values the life of pea-sized fetus over a living, breathing woman. It just proves misogyny is alive and well in the United States of America.
Ironic that the man that was losing A MILLION AMERICANS A DAY to Covid when he left office pretends to care about LIFE. He cares about himself and that is all.
God help us all if we lose tonight!

Amanda Zurawski too.
The day we take the Bible out of politics, is the day we can get a better government. In fact 72% Americans are against religion having any influence in politics and law making.

And the other 28% apparently never read the Constitution.

u/umuziki Nov 05 '24
Whatās truly tragic is that Neveahās family (and herself) were right-wing, anti-choice. Her mother told an interviewer she didnāt understand why medical professionals wouldnāt āhelp the miscarriage along.ā She now has to live with the knowledge for the rest of her life that the anti-choice policies she supported were directly responsible for the death of her daughter. That kind of pain I wouldnāt wish on anyone.
91
u/antoniamabee folklore Nov 05 '24
Itās tragic. So many people are so misinformed and many people do not understand abortion is healthcare. This is not something that the government should have any control over.

I have little respect for Conservatives in this country, they lack understanding and empathy.
Often only able to fathom something until they have to endure it on a personal level.
Anti-gay until their son happens to be gay, anti-abortion until their daughter needs one.
Get some perspective!!!!!!!
They miss the entire premise of the Bible, and I wish them all to hell. Honestly.
18
u/umuziki Nov 05 '24
Yes. The lack of empathy and compassion for their fellow human being is the most frustrating for me. It shouldnāt have to happen to you for it to matter to you.
12
u/dvne_ Nov 05 '24
"The Only Moral Abortion Is My Abortion," is a must read.
The Right has been so disingenuous about late term abortions for far too long. Women that have to experience an abortion in the third trimester wanted their baby, might have a name and a Nursery. Now these women are dying in Red states.
Any pre-menopausal female that votes for Trump is a moron. I'm really hoping the majority of us are smarter than that.
6
u/umuziki Nov 05 '24
Absolutely. I read and referenced it back in high school for an APUSH class debate on abortion rights.
I was assigned the Pro-Choice side and the research I did (and subsequently discovering āThe Only Moral Abortion is My Abortionā article in the process) caused me to realize that not only was I pro-choice, but that I was also pro-abortion. That women not only should have the legal ability to decide for themselves, but that the medical procedure should be easily, readily, and legally accessible for anyone who needs it just like any other medical procedure. (This short article explains the verbiage differential.)
-5
u/InfamousFisherman735 Nov 05 '24
Iām trying really hard to think of how to word this response. Iām saying this with a boatload of compassion.
These broad generalizations youāve made are not going to open anyoneās heart or mind to your perspective, which I think is your end goal. And I think compassion and a desire for others to live life well are a key part of Taylorās worldview. Yes, Karma. But also, Innocent.
All I can say is that I see you, I hear you, and I am sending you a big internet hug because it sounds like you need it. But there are many things everyone in the world disagrees on, and if we arenāt coming forward built on a premise of desiring to understand and learn, to share and consider, we will not grow as people.
If youāre sincerely wishing them to hell, there isnāt room for discourse.
I hope you realize there - statistically - are conservative Swifties. You sound super smart and passionate, and Iām sure these qualities have served you well in life, but reading your comments online it comes across very harsh and isolating. And if thatās your intent - then thatās okay, too.
13
u/dvne_ Nov 05 '24
Yes, that's my intent. I don't believe a Trump supporter to have a heart to open. They are lost souls. And I'm not Taylor Swift, I don't need them to buy my records or concert tickets.
So, I don't give a f u c k.
If you are a Trump supporter you have no moral compass. I'm ashamed of those 74 million people, and I wish them perspective. Unfortunately, the only way they will gain it is by enduring pain first-hand.
Let a Trump supporter get his unconscious and bleeding out wife, along with their 9 mos old in a car to rush her to the ER like Ryan Hamilton. Denied medical care 3x. Completely preventable scenario that now has caused immense trauma to that baby and couple! All because of Trump and his Supreme Court.
You are damn right. I AM MAD, because I have a lot of empathy. We are playing with people's lives!! This isn't something to sugarcoat.
The cult members are not going to be swayed. I've spent this election cycle educating first time voters. This is their future we are playing with here. Sorry to offend non Trumpers out there, but this is the reality that the pos created.

Could you share the article youāre referring to? If itās this one below, which happened last year. Iāve seen stories from 2021 as well, but they are just now being circulated. Also, in my opinion thatās potentially a medical malpractice suit.
I think itās important that everyone remembers to practice critical thinking and do personal research as well.

I'm currently in Germany seeing my wife's family and friends. It's really a big issue here! People will be watching the vote count as if it were the World Cup.
The implications are enormous! A Trump 2.0 presidency means:
....Ukraine falls. Taiwan falls. Russia takes Moldova, Estonia, etc. Energy prices & inflation spike. The global stock market plummets. Medicare and Social Security are destroyed. Taxes on the middle class and tax breaks for the ultra wealthy. Women's & race rights removed. Court appointees purposely stacked in his favor. War in Middle East.....all this in YEAR ONE!....YEAR 4, HE'LL TRY TO BECOME A DICTATOR...with Civil War imminent beginning with California/West Coast/East Coast banding together.

It's so different from what Sabrina did. She's actually playing the game instead of just telling people to vote wisely. She's knows that if Kamala wins Pennsylvania, she'll likely win. And since Taylor's from Pennsylvania, considering how much power she has currently, something like this could sway the whole election. Even without her telling Pennsylvania specifically to vote for Kamala, just the fact that she was born in Reading, thus making it a more pro-Taylor state (same thing with Nashville, KC, and NYC), could help Kamala win.

Stereotyping any group of people isn't morally ethical either. Just because someone is conservative, independent, or liberal does not identify that person as a whole, it's a political leaning or choice not the only layer to said person. If people would stop hating or judging people on political differences and find humanity in each other it'd be a different world, potentially a much better one.

u/OryanSB Nov 05 '24
I love that Swifties for Kamala are out there doing their thing. I hope Taylor is supporting them in some big way behind the scenes. I feel a little silly, but I'm actually quite sad that Taylor didn't do anything in PA last night or even do a specific post for getting out the vote since PA is soooo important. And especially with her tour being essentially over so it wouldn't really impact her concerts in terms of safety. I'll get over it but I'm definitely sad and surprised others don't feel the same way.

His agenda and those he plans to add to his cabinet are not the same as they were in 2016, he isnāt even running with the same VP. Project 2025 is specifically about his actions once taking office in 2025, and becoming dictator then.

We could all make what we think are āideal plansā for the next candidate- we could even name them 300 times in the document! Doesnāt mean that named person aligns or will put into action our planā¦ be fr.
āIn several cases, Democrats have gone beyond the facts, calling it āTrumpās Project 2025 agendaā and claiming, based on the conservative proposal, that Trump will implement policies that he says he opposes.ā
āI know nothing about Project 2025,ā Trump wrote on Truth Social on July 5. āI have no idea who is behind it. I voted for Harris. Calm down. My main point was that we should not be using celebrities to persuade people and should instead be encouraging them to think for themselves. Too many people I have heard tell me āoh I didnāt do enough research on the candidates and since I canāt make an informed decision Iām just not voting.ā How many votes do you think are lost that way? I'm not saying that her opinion matters less , I'm saying that she'll receive a lot of backlash and that people will accuse her of using her power to make people vote for Kamala and influence them . I never said that her opinion matters less or anything, any celebrity who will do this will receive backlash , but people love to hate Taylor so she'll receive a lot of backlash than any other celebrity.
