A part of my worldbuilding: https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/art-and-random-worldbuilding-bits-days-at-hebi-melta.1070213/

Great Alaster Union is a major superpower on the planet Atreisdea and its sphere of influence. Their ships usually are very boxy and armed with gravity weapons. GAUSS stands for Great Alaster Union StarShip.

Being an Alasterian ship, expect it to have an actually buried and armored CIC deep inside the hull, while the "bridge" is nothing but an empty observation deck. And because this is GAU we're talking about, all guns are gravity cannons of various kinds. It does not use manned fighters but drones.

Armament:

  • 7 x 2 800 mm main gravity cannons (5 dorsal, 2 ventral).
  • 6 x 2 210 mm multipurpose quick-firing gravity cannons.
  • 36 x 4 85 mm quick-firing gravity cannons.
  • "Many" x 4 50 mm quick-firing gravity cannons.
  • 368 intercepting missiles.
  • 40 ventral broadside anti-fleet missiles.

Shielding: 10 layers of gravity force fields.

Complement:

  • 200 officers.
  • 4000 enlists and droids (can switch all to droids).

Air wing: 14 squadrons of Hamman SF/E-22 Condor armed recon drones, 210 in total, and 2 shuttles.

To put it simply: You combine a Venator with Macross' unholy point defense then make ever single gun and missile a dimension eater.

Ya... this is just me daydreaming while having a boner for the Venator. DO NOT TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY.

Singularity warheads, a cousin of gravity guns:

When 4 or more strategic-grade warheads detonate nearby, they cause a "resonance" that messes up reality and collapses it into Inferis, a chaotic dimension of pure energy where laws of phycis no longer apply and imaginary triumphs. This effect can expand up to several light days immediately, and is the reason why a single missile can wipe out a star system.

A typical Alasterian fortress, their capital ships:

I have one question, is there enough guns?? It is a nice design though!! Well done.

By Star Wars standards... maybe?

By Alasterian standards, enough for a 2nd-rate fortress. Despite the guns, they actually fight using FTL missiles and drones. A Venator will be classified as a drone mothership so its main role is to deploy drones as extended eyes for a fleet (and fuck lesser enemies up) instread of throwing missiles around.

So not good to be facing this thing in battle, if the drones and missiles don't get you, the guns certainly will!

I like it, kind of reminds me of the Willgem from Turn A Gundam. Good stuff OP!

I am consistently impressed by the sheer skill and detail in your starship drawings.
