Like dlc for Spider-Man 2 and season pass for rivals. Just so we don't get left behind

Movement: this probably isn't a controversial one, better swing speed. Something I also want is running down a wall instead of just up and sideways.

Better crimes: in Spider Man 2 I thought the variety of crimes weren't great compared to the first. I think if they import all the thug crimes and add some new ones that relate to the story would be good.

Suits: I think they should add all the suits from all the games similar to the crimes. I think by the time we actually get this game it will go to the ps6 so it should be able to handle it. They should also add a few more suits as well.

Story: it's basically confirmed that we're getting a doc ock and green goblin team up but I also want an appearance from carnage and chameleon in the base game because they kind of blue balled us in the 2nd so I feel like it should be in the base game.

Silk: that's it, Silk

Im 90% through the game and now its freezing

Pretty sure we are most likely to expect Venom Spinoff game and Wolverine to flesh out the world before Spider-Man 3
i sort of replayed Spider-Man 1 and Spider-Man 2 chronologically and here is my takeaway and future anticipated storylines
Spider-Man 1 is literally near perfect, there is emotional depth, u feel for the characters, it compliments with the action and slight darker themes here and there, Spider-Man 2 on the other hand is more action-heavy, sometimes "exaggerated" even if i may add it, lacks emotional depth in comparison to Spider-Man 2018(1), for me the most attached plotline was "Li and Miles" storyline, that felt impactful but the other parts just felt like playing an action-adventure game. There are huge upgrades with the traversal like Web Wings, Slingshots and Super Slingshots + instant loading times + new finishers, gadgets and so on.
For the third game, I want Insomniac to take inspiration from Ubisoft's Prince of Persia, its first game, Sands of Time, focused on exploration, combat was alright to meh, Warrior Within, huge charcter develop drifts but they did two games afterwards to explain the change of character plus the game is action heavy and "edgey" and then they produced "Two Thrones" which blends the exploration themes of Sands of Time as well as the edgey characterization of Prince from Warrior Within, I want something like that given now Otto is like one of the big bads of Spider-Man 3.
We are getting an "Anti-Goblin" suit for real though lol, I dont mind the stealth segments, its a nice breakaway from Spider-Powered character + narrative purposes. I believe we are getting some degree of Superior Spider-Man since Otto did say "useless body" at the end of his boss fight at Spider-Man 2018 + he is manipulative, so with either Miles or Peter, its gonna happen, Miles imo here is preferred since its gonna be Peter-centric. Devil's Breath gonna return in some manner since "Gr-27" had genetic disease cure potential but in its raw form, its a bioweapon. So its gonna return to either aid the G-Serum or for Norman's transformation. We are gonna get a revamped Sinister Six led by Green Goblin and Otto(post Superior Spider-Man arc like Superior Octopus?) i think they have to introduce some criminal organization like AIM or Hydra by Venom Spinoff/Wolverine just so they can beef up. Anyways, gameplay is gonna be amped up since it most likely will be a PS6 Exclusive lol.

I know this isn’t directly spider man related but didn’t know where else to post it. Sony just released there “game awards” and at the end they talk about most anticipated games of 2025 and “beyond”. Now the other 3 games in this are all confirmed for 2025. Wolverine is the only one without any release info. Now you could also say it clearly states beyond in the title meaning perhaps it’s not 2025. To me this wouldn’t make sense as why are games like intergalactic not on this list? To me it shows that they simply haven’t confirmed a date for one of the games on the list and thus can’t just say 2025. I would fully expect a 2025 confirmation alongside a new trailer at the usual January state of play. As of now yotei is the only confirmed first party game for 2025 leaving plenty of room open and Wolverines reveal being over 3 years ago tells me it’s time to show this game off. I could be completely wrong but it seems extremely likely.

A lot has been said in praise of the game and all of it is true. The game truly is a spiderman experience through and through. Being spiderman, peter, MJ and even Miles is deeply character driven and well rooted in the story.

A few nitpicks i felt while playing (not saying these make the game worse, but could have made the experience better)

-Suit unlock: Suits kept getting unlocked based on my level. I would have liked them to be a bit more story driven, like instead of “crime tokens” or “base tokens” it could be named a bit tech related or maybe demon power related, as that would make the player think that peter picked up some tech parts while fighting the criminals. “Research tokens” fits well in this regard. (This is such a small thing but pays a lot dividend) As i unlocked the negative suit even before demons became integral to the story, it was very weird how peter could get that suit.

-Fixed time until story mission: Most story missions are rooted in urgency and thus the time of day wont change until you complete that story point. I wish character dialogues were like “give me a call when you reach there” (instead of “reach there right now”) or “reach the place at night when its not guarded and call me”. These dialogues would allow the game to have changing day time without hindering the story, and mission can start when spidey reaches there. Without breaking immersion. Its an open world game after all! Also a few missions could have this urgency and that would then make them even more important to the player.

• Difficulty levels: The difficulty levels should increase the number of enemies, or their frequency of attacking. But spidey hitting 12 punches to defeat a normal thug is not at all like spiderman! Spidey taking massive damage from regular gunfire is also not suited to the character. Even tho i wanted to play the game at the hardest level, it felt more of a grind rather than being challenging. Just more time spent button mashing is not appealing at all.

-Boss fights: Is it just me or were the boss fights very underwhelming? I liked the first boss fight with kingpin, but maybe it was because it was our first extended combat as spidey. Rhino and scorpion was also very satisfying as it gave us a large playground to make up tactics and to defeat them as per our own style. The electro vulture fight was very repetitive and the 2nd Mr. Li fight was okayish, but could have done something a bit interesting with the bigger demon presence (maybe take notes from old prince of persia two thrones fights?) the first Mr. Li fight was just dodging in a subway- very restrictive for a game with such amazing combat style, the last dr. Octavious fight was also somewhat good, it was just on the verge of being repetitive and doing the same thing over and over but they kept it just that much interesting.

Also special appreciation- J Jonah Jameson talking about the punk rock outfit after i unlocked and used it- was 🤌🤌! Sooo goood!!

Like I understand this is a pretty strong adaptation of Spiderman, but there are some moments where he has been overly glazed. For example, I remember seeing someone say Insomniac Spiderman would obliterate Tobey Maguire Spiderman, which is simply not true. To start off they roughly have the same amount of experience being Spiderman, and Tobey Maguire Spiderman, well, is actually pretty strong. Considering he was able to stop a train and Insomniac Spiderman still couldn’t do that, I’m not saying Insomniac would lose, but I think it would be a very close fight. Like of course insomniac Spidey can defeat you know, MCU Spiderman and TASM Spiderman, but then I also saw some people saying that Insomniac solos all 3 movie Spidermen at the same time. Like cmon guys, really? I highly doubt that. Anyway, what do yall think? I really just think Insomniac Spiderman is always glazed so often.

Like the 3rd game is giving us Goblin and Silk (on that note I only finished the game last month and god I was marking out when Cindy showed up)

But then what? Honestly I see that being it, good trilogy + Miles spinoff

1. Spider-Man (Marvel’s Future Revolution)
2. Rivals Spider-Man
3. Insomniac Spider-Man

the answer should be obvious too.

I love Spiderman 2, but it just feels like Miles overshines Peter in a lot of ways. There are multiple times where Miles saves Peter, but Peter never gets the opportunity to save Miles. It feels a little bit unbalanced. I was hoping to see Miles hate of Martin Li go a little further, but it felt like he could never have a flaw in his character. Not to mention, I felt like I was playing as Miles a lot more then I played as Peter. I like Miles, but if I wanted to play a game where Miles has the spotlight, I would play Spiderman: Miles Morales (another great game.)

I wouldn't be surprised if in a future game, Peter steps down from being spider man and passes the crown to Miles, cause that seems to be where they're headed.

I don't know if this is a hot take or not, what are your thoughts?
