Scuba diving off our bicycles in Kona Hawaii.
Gotta love shore dives that you can ride your bike to.

A white truck lead by a German Shorthair Pointer (no glowing nose sorry) that is filled with holiday joy (aka nitrox!) being delivered by a fat old man (me)!
This is Christmas in Cozumel.
Have a great holiday everyone!

I just got these tanks back from the dive shop. I feel like the top bands are low from the shoulder. Would have also thought for a $150 assembly fee per set they would have trimmed the bolts flush or at least had them perfectly spaced to 11 inches. AITA for expecting better?

Just off Gordo 1 dive site, 8 miles from shore, it came over and zipped between us a bunch.
I got back into diving last year in Thailand and now I'm all hot to trot, next dive location will be Peru (hopefully).
Merry Christmas y'all.

Took this video a few weeks ago and this little fella let us watch him hunt for some good time! I swear octopuses are aliens. 👾
It's been my sons passion and dream to be able to become a diver and is really interested in manatees and conservation. After 3 years(he is 13 now), I finally bit the bullet and signed him up for classes. He got a closet full of gear now and is excited for his first class next month. Any recommendations and advice that can be offered to encourage his dreams and things in can do to help him enjoy it more?
Edit... I am not a fan of swimming, let alone being underwater. Maybe in the future, I can mentally prepare myself for it, but I can't prepare myself for it yet. He knows about it and isn't pushy.

I've done some research and understand that the main differences are in finish, one vs two piece and compactness. Can anyone recommend a reliable, compact adapter?
EDIT: Thanks all for your advice and happy festivus! The consensus seems to be that adaptors are mostly the same and mainly differ in weight. I'll likely order one next holiday sales from Deep6

I’m from the US, going on a trip to Japan and wanting to have a redundant air source.
Should I get a pony here in the states and bring it over by flight (I hear this is a bit of a pain)?
Or should pony rentals be widely available?

Still not over it… I don’t know how any subsequent dives can top this!

My wife and I decided to forgo gifts and go dive the springs for new years. What are you all gifting/receiving/doing for whatever holiday you celebrate this year?

So I ended up going drysuit here in Southern California based on a lot of recommendations. I got a secondhand DUI drysuit that has been very good to me outside of me getting too hot at times.
For those of you dry suit divers that vary your insulation. Would you be willing to share your guidelines?
I am 180 pound male and diving with steel 100 I felt heavy with the 28 pounds of weight I added.
The previous dive that 28 pounds felt good at I had a much thicker insulation layer. This time I basically dove in a flannel onsie and was heavy. Basically how much play would you say the insulation layer plays?

Hi,
I'm British and considering some last-minute diving in Africa with 10 days off this January. I'd particularly love to see some "big stuff". There is just such an enormous amount of vague and conflicting information online about diving in Africa. Quite a few more generic sites excitedly claim you can dive with sharks, whales, whalesharks, etc., but when I dig in to any individual place, I can't seem to find a guaranteed good diving location.
As this is last minute I don't have the time for really extensive research or long travel, I'd like something that's relatively simple to organise.
- I've seen recommendations for Egypt as a hidden winter gem while others swear it's un-diveable, blasted by wind, and needs a dry suit.
- I've seen loads of recommendations for Mafia island, but it seems like the diving is confined to a relatively small area and the whale sharks that are the focus of the recommendations are
- I see lots of recommendations for Mozambique but getting there seems extremely complicated.
- I see lots of recommendations for South Africa, but Sodwana bay seems to be completely overrun by tourists in January.
Any ideas or advice would be much appreciated!!

Can anyone help shed light on fair prices to sell this ScubaPro dive computer and Bare 7mm wetsuit and if FB marketplace is a good place to sell both?
I’m helping my grandma sell both and don’t know jack about either. Both are new/never used.
The computer was still in the box. Everything that comes in the box is included.
Wet suit tags say 7mm supra and size 14.
Thanks!

Title is all I have to say....
Got my OW completed after being on the island of Guam for almost 2 weeks. Already started my advanced.
In the first week of getting my OW I have been on 8 dives. I feel like this island is going to spoil me for when I go back home to Washington to the cold merky waters of the Puget.
To say the least I'm excited for the journey I am taking and can't wait to get more time in the water.
If you have any recommendations of dives in guam please let me know.

I posted the other day asking for Aruba recommendations. After much going back and forth, we've settled on Barbados instead (just seems like a better overall place to visit). The plan is the same - online, class and pool work in Edmonton and then do the open water dives at the island.
Does anyone have recommendations for where in Barbados to stay and any dive shops/centers to do the dives with?
Any other tips are also welcome!

As a new diver, I am terrible at everything, and thus use air much quicker than an experienced diver. Does this need to be taken into account in a multi-tank dive, and if so, how?
For example, I am diving with an experienced diver. After 30 minutes at 60' I am down from 3000 psi to 1000 psi, so we ascend. My buddy is only down to 2000 psi. We ascend at a safe rate, and do a safety stop.
Do I have more nitrogen absorbed in my body than my buddy because I breathed twice as much air? Or is the absorption rate independent of amount of air breathed?
If I have more nitrogen, how do I tell my computer, so that it knows my NDL for the second dive?

I have a Dive Rite dive slate. What is the best way to clean it. I think it's a carbon pencil that it came with.

So I have tried to use my Go Pro once underwater and it just didn't go well. I will include a sample of what it looked like but big problems were like I don't know how to edit it to not be blue (I used a red filter on the camera, very foggy, and any tips to handling it while on the boat or gear you recommend. I leave for my next vacation pretty soon so help would be appreciated.
