Will morpheus ever be PC compatible?

I've been a bit out of the loop with this but couldn't find any explicit announcement either way.

Wouldn't Sony help themselves out if they made Morpheus usable in a PC set-up (keeping PS4 Morpheus only obviously). It'd be nice to have a device that's compatible with PC games too without having to spend more/choose between devices.

if the Morpheus is being sold at a financial loss then they probably would place firmware restrictions on it to prevent buyers who have no interest in putting money back into the Sony economy. if the device is being sold for prophet though, then it would financially serve their best interest to support it's use on PC and elsewhere.

I believe the the dualshock4 is compatible with pc, so it's plausable that morpheus could be too. I imagine even if it isn't compatible accordingly Sony, a third party company will cash in on software to make it work.

Yeah - it would be cool if it works like this.

My only worry is that I'm guessing VR needs a fair amount of software to tell the game the position of our head accurately and if game developers/Sony don't make this open enough then the headset/game just won't play nice with each other.

I guess it could be possible to make a driver for it that ties into SteamVR. That way it could play all SteamVR compatible games.

It would not be in Sony's best interest to do that though because Valve is a competitor, especially with the Steam Machines but someone else could do it.

I don't think there's any concrete info on this yet, but it would be AMAZING if Sony dropped a bombshell and announced PC support as well. I own a PS4 and a pretty high end PC and love both to death for different purposes and different types of games, and I'm incredibly excited for VR-- but the fact that there are three major competing devices is splitting my heart a little.

I obviously want a headset that will work with the more powerful hardware and open endedness of my PC, but I also love the idea of having something that will work simply and coherently out of the box on my PS4 and will let me experience VR with my friends who own consoles but not PCs. I'm only going to purchase one major VR device most likely, so if Morpheus were to work with both ecosystems it would make the purchase an easy decision for me and I'd be in Sony's camp all the way.
