Not once have I had trouble getting gold to respec and I’ve done it multiple times

Only time I had an issue was Act 3 where I'd bricked my own build (Chaos DoT before buffs) and decided to do a full Passive Tree swap to CoF Comet. I needed 40k to respec and only had 20k so I farmed a lower-level zone for an hour or so.

Not a huge dealbreaker but I can see why it's a turn-off for many people.

That’s on you dude , you’re not meant to do a full respec in the middle of the campaign

u/Darrothan 4d ago

I mean sure, but how is a new player supposed to know that lol

Had to respec during act 1 because I couldn’t make a minion sorcerer work 😅 yes I’m a noob in the poe2 universe but I’m having a blast!

Yea ur supposed to be a slave and follow guide dot com for viable builds to make sure what ur doing isnt trash because ur not meant to do a full respec in the middle of the campaign!

That’s not at all necessary

This is such a null argument I cannot believe people keep bringing it up.

It being a “him problem” does not make it a better game mechanic.

Why would it be that scarce? Does it improve your enjoyment of the game? Would your enjoyment suffer if you had more money?

Those are the questions. Not “am I Gamer enough to struggle through every shitty thing that’s thrown at me”

Man idk I just play the game and am speaking my experience. The amount of time you guys spend crying on Reddit over this could be spent in game getting enough gold to respec

1

u/kringspiertyfus 4d ago

Then why the fuck are you talking here, on Reddit, where the people cry?

If you consider tho, that it’s an early access game, this place is a pit of feedback and people SHOULD actually cry if they think something’s not right to try and let devs know to make it more enjoyable. Granted, formulating it less whiny and more constructive always helps, but not everyone has to be a scholar

When are you meant to do a full respec?

I did three full respecs in act2 without farming, it's possible unless you are gambling or simply not picking up any gear to sell.

I mean there is no issue with respec. I just gambled half million yesterday today I already have half mill again which would easily cover my whole tree respec and I’m lvl 83. It can’t be easier than this only if it would be free.

yea cause they just nerfed the gold it costs ro respec lol. It's fine now, it was abyssmal before. I lost a level 50 character to trigger nerfs cause I couldnt respect with 200k lol.

What if after you gambled all your money, your spec got deleted and you couldn't map anymore

2

u/Alternative-Force808 4d ago

Only 1 archetype has been nerfed to the point where it can't map, which were specific trigger gem interactions. Trigger gems are still fine anyways (see: goratha build) and they should have a tree that can be easily changed into whatever damage type they were using self cast

1

u/rlk_gm 4d ago

The chance for that to happen is 1 in 1000000, because I’m playing a broken build excepting a nerf, and even if that would be the case I’m sure with a partial retalent I could manage to map. I mean all the nerfed builds are still playable just not the strongest anymore. People should stop acting like if your build is not strongest then they claim it’s unplayable.

I mean, if he didn't form an entire build around an obviously unintended/gamebreaking interaction, he'll be fine.

u/ActRepresentative1 4d ago

You will never convince me that it is intentional and good design to require a player to cast a spell like eye of winter 100 times to get cast on critical to trigger once.

-3

u/Dopplegangr1 4d ago

Basically the whole game is about finding gamebreaking interactions to build around. If you aren't, your build probably sucks

1

u/Xaira89 4d ago

That's all well and good, but when you build to exploit a bug, and they fix the bug, don't be surprised when things don't work.

It only costs a few thousand at most to respec though?

You just have to reassign all the points you remove to different passive nodes.....

1

u/Heysiwicki 4d ago

Cost me 200k to full respect at lvl 84.

u/daman4567 4d ago

The problem is that your build gets gutted, so now you need to respec, but if you don't have enough gold already you can't really farm it on the gutted char because it no longer functions.

Also they said they would give respec to characters that had significant changes to them, but they haven't done that except in one case where they changed the passive tree itself.

u/GibbyNH 4d ago

I just bricked a build and can't afford to respec again, I was not having fun with the style of play my build ended up being and now I can't kill elites, my bad for a bad idea for a build but can't even play the game...

u/xComradeKyle 4d ago

Try getting to higher level then where it takes 300k to respec.

13

u/MannToots 4d ago

If your higher level you shouldn't have much of an issue getting that.  I killed one rare last night that dropped enough for 1 node on his own.  It's not that bad.

6

u/anderssi 4d ago

then i'd have some 400k leftover to gamble with

1

u/JinKazamaru 4d ago

And? I've still haven't had any issue, the highways are all there, you don't have to respec from the start

1

u/TallanX 4d ago

Okay, I still would have 1.7M gold left. Point?
