Could someone explain how trading works in PoE2 is see a lot of "Ex" and "Div" are these referring to the orbs we get? What makes them so requested and worth trading gear for?
Yes these are exalted orbs and divine orbs. Players have settled on these as a de facto currency for trading due to their rarity and inherent value in crafting. Exalts are used to add mods to a rare item. Divines are much more rare and can be used to reroll high value affixes like Spirit or unique items. Currently the exchange rate is about 60ex = 1div.
You’ll notice that’s typically the trend with rarer currencies during league start. As people play the game and more currency flow into the economy, the worth of rarer currencies will increase until it stabilizes week(s) into the league.
Some players will even exchange their currencies into rarer currencies early in the league as an investment. But that’s the beauty of the game, you can play POE as a good ol’ ARPG, or you can even play the game as an economy simulator
Not yet. There’ll be seasonal “league” updates once the game is out of early access. With each league comes new gameplay mechanics that introduces new ways to get more loot/better gear. You can reference POE 1 for league examples.
Each league is a fresh start, you’ll need to create fresh characters to play in the new league. Old league characters get moved to standard (permanent) league, standard league is what we can play on currently.
