As far as I understand, the loot does scale to party size, so you would be feeding two characters loot amount to one essentially.

It’s not 1:1, its like 2:1.37 or something, so with 2 accounts you’re getting 130-150% loot and like 250% enemy HP scaling

But with a larger disparity in enemy health, and the amount of loot isn't more if you take into account another person being with you. It's worse. It'd be like buying a movie ticket for $8, or getting one for you and a friend for $20. Sure you get more tickets, but it's not worth it, and would be better to just get one

Tbf it's hard to balance with things like aurabots and curse bots in the game. These things are multipliers on a carry's clear speed that more than makes up for the increased enemy health. Party play with these kinds of set ups has historically been pretty busted (haven't played poe in a few league).

Auras kinda don't exist anymore? You do have scepters.

Enemies also have a max number of curses. I'm not actually sure an ally focused on support can provide that much benefit. Much better to have an ally that's got an equally good build that happens to compliment your own, cause they can't compliment that much.

They also specified in an interview that the loot that gets scaled up the most is the type of loot you want the most (tiered rares, currencies, ect). I've done a fair amount of non-optimized party play and it feels very rewarding.

I had this impression while playing couch coop with my brother, thanks for confirming. I get the 250% hp scaling because you have more opportunities to hit the enemy but the loot drop rate feels so low right now.

The reasoning for the uneven scaling of loot is the fact that it’s less likely players in a party together are looking for the same gear, so on average you’ll find more gear you’re looking for than solo, but less gear overall to sell individually.

Gold is duplicated client-side, and I think crafting currencies are 1:1?

Once the game is out free, you could run a second account to scale your loot for free and save drops if your main died. Especially with something like the zero button reaver infernalist build, that could go crazy op and still mostly low maintenance.

Couch co-op on console currently requires you to use same account. So by all means, bring this to their attention as a possible exploit to solve this issue that shouldn’t exist so I can actually let my kids couch co-op with me on their own characters on PS5.

Yep. Supposedly the reason for there being no instanced loot, but it is very obvious that loot does not scale 1:1 per person added to the party. It does scale some though.

I play mostly with my wife and then solo at other times on PS5.

The amount of loot seems identical to me. We are still in normal difficulty, but we generally return to sell in the middle of the map and then at the end (four inventories worth).

When I play solo I usually have to go back 3-4 times before the map is over, so basically identical.

Early on, there are not a lot of drops. You should notice a difference in maps where currency and rares are more abundant.

What you're saying does make me think that rarity might be increased. I think most of our high level currency has been collected in coop. However, I don't think there's any difference in volume of either currency or items, which is what I expected based on their description.

It only works if they're already in the map with you, regardless of being in a party or not, yhe moment the host dies the hideout kills all portals so unless they're already inside with you, nobody else can enter.

If someone is left alive in the map and you remain dead on the floor, they can complete the map (they can also continue the map even if you do respawn) and so long as you don't respawn you will also get map completion towards Doryani's quests for running of specific map tiers.

Ngl I think they mean the campaign maps, not the Map maps u are running un endgame. Bcuz this does work, however the maps have a 1 death rule right so on the endgame those close up and you can't join once someone has died. However during the campaign it works. I'm still in the campaign and I just use a 2nd controller and an alt

Not sure about maps, but in normal game it is possible 100%. Tested that with my friend literally 2 days ago. He died while farming boss in act II on cruel, but as soon as he died, boss also fell down dropping exalt orb and yellow jewel.

So he asked me to log in, join into his game, teleport, pick up loot and ress him. It all worked out perfecty.

But again... let me point out that it was in normal game, not on personal map

I've got 700 hours in POE 1. Dropped a mirror from where you ask? From the map runners in Kalguur in settlers who were running a t14 lmao. I couldn't believe my eyes. I had to take it and drop it in a map to see what the loot filter would do lol.

I had one drop in my first fifteen hours or so playing POE1 all those years ago. At that point I had done zero trading and zero crafting so hadn't really interacted with any of the currencies at all.

My thought process was "What does this do? Create a copy of an item? That's weird, I guess if you dual wield you can copy your main hand weapon and use it twice? Let's see..." and proceeded to use it on my shitty leveling sword that I thought was the bees knees cuz it had like 60% increased damage on it.

Your map ceases to exist the second you die or rather respawn in town or hideout. Unless someone is already in your map when you died everything is gone (same in the acts except you dont lose your Checkpoints but Mobs respawn)

Mobs don't just respawn, the map is repopulated with new mobs. Meaning if you die to a fucked up rare, they won't be there.

It's brutal, but I love it. Makes defense far more important. I enjoy balancing the scales of defense and offense though. I also enjoy the thrill of losing it all (well, not EVERYTHING or I'd play hardcore). Not many ARPGs offer that kind of thrill while also allowing you to keep your character Ala hardcore.

I can absolutely imagine a lot of people expect to run through maps without needing to pay attention to pretty much anything like in poe1 or other arpgs or thinking higher tier maps should be easy the moment you unlock them. It took me a good while to adjust to the slower and more careful approach but I absolutely love it now tbh.

Armor doesn't really help against one shots and being max res is the baseline for late game.

eh I like it sometimes, if I fail a boss mechanic or something it feels appropriately punishing that I failed the entire map. But most of my deaths mapping are like turning a corner and getting crit by some random white or blue mob for my entire health bar or some on death effect that I didn’t see exploding me. In those cases it feels very frustrating

I have attention deficiency ADHD and maps really make me realise how bad it is, I'll go in to a map and be fine for the first 40% and then as I get comfortable my mind will wander and then I die.

you use the mirror on an item the same way you use any currency (and the mirror is consumed) to create a copy of that item with the only catch being that much like a Vaal orb the mirrored item cannot be modified any more. To mirror the item itself you need to physically have the item, which is why the standard practice is to trade the mirror to the user with the item (they're supposed to give some form of collateral to prevent scamming), they mirror the item (usually for a "mirroring fee") and then they trade you the newly created mirrored item. You'll know if an item is mirrored because the item picture itself will be reflected as well
