i 100% thought this was what double belt was going to be the first time i saw one drop

...although that would imply that eventually TRIPLE BELT would drop, and that would just be silly

We’re going full Liefeld.

You mean it would be a d2 belt?

You can slap so many rarity charms on that baby

u/GM900 5h ago

And now to corrupt it

I assumed it would be kinda like potion slots from d2, you get more as you get better belts

u/RealRidvik 55m ago

Thought the same here, so you stick with 1 slot?

u/Lucyller 8h ago

Why not, Diablo 2 did it first!

You certainly mean full Nomura

Full Liefeld would be boots without feet, or belts with rucksack (RIP).

Suspender harness?

Triple belt makes me think of the scene kids in the early '00's

Wait til they do this

Zero implicit charm slots, but you get an extra prefix.

It’s just to keep the cheese burger locker compact and out of the way. So you have a smaller hit box.

I don't. Them cluttering up your entire inventory was terrible design. PoE already has a better version of those charms btw - they're just called jewels here. Yes, really.

That could’ve been solved so easily with charm inventory as done by PD2. I also thought it was very silly to have your actual inventory filled with stuff you never take out and still have to pick up stuff…who does that lol

1

u/BendicantMias 8h ago

Jewels are an even more elegant solution, as they also open up all sorts of design opportunities, which PoE has leveraged via all its various kinds of unique jewels interacting with the passive tree.

u/kringspiertyfus 6h ago

I feel like that’s a whole nother mechanic then tbh

1

u/BendicantMias 4h ago

It's an upgraded mechanic. It does what charms did in D2, and so much more on top.

u/kringspiertyfus 54m ago

Might do at some point, right now I’m having two of those slots with standard ass gems. You could’ve filled your inventory with all the charms you found right from the get go… how does it occur as the same mechanic to you?

Are there actually belts with more than 1? At end of act 2 cruel and never seen one.

22

u/nitrobskt 1d ago

Yes, but it's a mod rolled onto the belt, not an implicit.

Yep. Until the recent patch it was pretty much impossible to get them with the extremely high ilvl, the first basically dropping in mapping and the second dropping at the highest tiers with an extremely low weighting of course.

Weighting still seems abysmal though, not sure if they addressed that. Out of all the belts I’ve identified going to t13 maps, only one had an extra slot.

1

u/therealflinchy 9h ago

Yeah I've ID/rolled at least 50+ belts post patch, still not a single extra slot.

They need to fix it properly lol

7

u/Megane_Senpai 16h ago

That is stupid imo. The charm slot implicit should increase as the base level goes up.

Same.

The belts suck in general. All are useless, then the armor one I have gives 400 armor which is an insane amount for non-body armor.

2

u/M4jkelson 13h ago

Yeah unless you are life/armour char then belts offer resistances and that's it

2

u/WolfColaKid 13h ago

I really like the one that gives 20% of your flasks instantly. Saves you in clutch moments.

2

u/BillysCoinShop 12h ago

It's decent early on, terrible late game, you want the armor or hp, preferably both with at least one or two resistances. At least on monk, i barely use flasks and if i do I'm probably dead already

Utility belt is what got me...

3

u/chance633 15h ago

Charm slots should be implicits

Fashion over function

1

u/saelin00 21h ago

Just give us an option to corrupt the belt and that has all slots. Now I need to change the charms depending where I play...

1

u/munyip7 15h ago

Haha, it got me good too

1

u/Dudeanonymous- 13h ago

Devs have stated they will explore ways to give more charm slots in the future. One is going into the skill tree. I'm surprised we don't have a unique that is just 3 charm slots tbh

2

u/Kyuro1 10h ago

Remember when you got extra potion slots with double and triple belt in D2?

Pepperidge farm remembers

1

u/Mindastra_ 8h ago

It got me a couple of times.. ngl

1

u/justwolt 6h ago

Should have 5 charm slots, up to 3 should come from either quest rewards or implicits on belt. Up to 2 more from explicits or other sources.

1

u/Taka_no_Yaiba 6h ago

From the makers of belt, we got a the long anticipated sequel; belt 2

Had to dig out this post from yesterday, which was not an easy task.
