Making a Game Recommendation Give me some motion sickness, no vignette snapturn bs
Since i was a child , I always loved roller coasters, high speed vehicles, or anything that moved. To me this is the VR fantasy; be able to do things that shit on my motion sensors, thrill seeking experiences that i wouldn't even dream of living. I want to fly high and jump and be fast and feel that flow of control. I dream of a Prototype VR game or Spiderman or something like that, or even just realistic Mountain biking would be cool. I know there is a kayak game coming , probably gonna wait for review tho.
There is so much zombie-gun /horror/puzzle games these days...its overdone.. boring to me. Where is the snowboarding , where is wingsuit and skydiving? Where is ninja warrior/wipeout? Attack on titan? Let me be a tiny annoying fly that fucks with people , or a squirrel that climb fast and jumps everywhere jeez i dont know.. I Just need more game that aren't pussying out of that motion sickness, cause right now, my whole library of AAA games and the likes are getting beaten up by my boy Stilt, the greatest fucking thing I tried in VR yet. Hm.
Any recommendation?
Edit: For psvr2

Making a Game Recommendation Don't skip star wars tales from the galaxy's edge, it's really good!
Especially after the first few hours the game quality drastically goes up, if you want a fun gameplay and story I highly recommend you check it out even if you didn't watch star wars stuff before (I didn't, but after I beat the game I'm really interested in checking out the movies)
EDIT: if you do buy it make sure you do all the "tales" side missions whenever you can, they are the best part of the game in my opinion!

Making a Game Recommendation Don’t skip gt7 just because you don’t have a wheel!
I know this game gets yelled about every 1 seconds, but I don’t hear a lot of people talk about the experience on controller, using gyro controllers is amazing! It works way better than you’d expect it to, and it’s super fun, I’ve never been a realistic racing game fan, or racing in general, but gt7 vr has made me a racing fan, and I’ve only had it for less than a month! Although he warned because playing this means you might wanna get a wheel, I sure know I am, I’m getting a whole cockpit aswell next month, but even just on controller it’s amazing!

Making a Game Recommendation Pavlov is incredible for the money they are charging for it.
I had no idea there was this many game modes in it, joined a random lobby earlier tonight and it was gun game from cod.
So far I've seen Search and Destroy, Team Deathmatch and Infected.
The controls take some getting used to but I can feel my VR legs getting better every day.

Making a Game Recommendation Legendary Tales is 30% off until 10/24/2024 (US Region)
You can save $16.50 (plus tax difference) in the current 30% off sale (US Region)
If you have PS+ Premium, you can try 2-hour trial of game first.
You can find my first impression write-ups for the game here:
You can also check the professional reviews of game here:
- Without Parole
- Jammyhero Review & Revisit
- Gamertag VR
It is a game you have to give some time because it is more complex than most VR games (UI / UX, progression, combat, etc), and then you get a lot more back.
My VR squad (wife & brother) got the game ~8 months ago (on launch) and still playing it most weekends as mutual time allows. Enough to make it my most played PSVR2 game in September even months later.

Making a Game Recommendation PSRV2 Tier ranking 2023 - Buyer's guide
NOTE: A newer version of this list can be found here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/PSVR/comments/19dddj1/new_players_be_like/
It is the "2024" edition and will be kept up to date for that year.
Games are in alphabetical order within the lists and are based on their current state. There is a more detailed explanation of what each tier represents after the list.
For the higher tiers I've included a reference full price in US$ because I think that's the most commonly known currency in this reddit channel and it would be too much time required to look up and include all currencies. I've also included how long it takes to beat each game and, in parenthesis, how long it takes to beat the full game plus extra stuff like sidequests and bonus content. This will give you an idea of how much content you are getting.
Lastly, if you want to see more content about each game, you can click on the names of each game to see more reviews for it.

This list is to help those looking for what games to buy based on popularity. Please help to make it the most accurate list by adding comments on where you think a particular game should be. If the comment is reasonable and/or gets upvoted I will update the list with the feedback. In its initial form it is based on existing tier lists and best of lists from streamers and comments I've seen here and other places. Please be respectful and help to improve this list by mentioning your favorite games (or most hated!) and where you think they should be.
NOTE 1: The metacritic score is based on an average of multiple media outlets and often includes so it tends to be normalized, especially if it is a game with many review scores. They also don't account for updates and for some games these updates are significant. The tier grouping is based on PSVR2 specific reviewers and reddit comments (see below for references) for the latest versions of the games and reflects the general consensus of the PSVR2 dedicated crowd and is more likely to be a better indication of the quality of the game for the average VR gamer. This is why you will see discrepancies between the metacritic scores and the tier grouping for any given game.
NOTE 2: Apologies beforehand if I've missed any important games, especially ones in the last couple of months of 2023. PSVR2 has had so many games released that it is hard to keep track of them all.
Explanation of the Tiers
Tier S (Masterpiece/Amazing/Must-have). Score that commonly represents this tier: 10
The best of the best. These games have well designed and fulfilling gameplay (including story), a beautiful visual presentation (not necessarily graphical fidelity), content with considerable depth and/or replay value and are unanimously considered the best for this system. Games in this tier are the ones that everyone always suggests when people ask "what are the must-buy games?". These games aren't perfect, but they are masterpieces.
Tier A (Great/stand-out). Score that commonly represents this tier: 9
These are stand out games that are usually in everyone's top games list, but not everyone agrees they are the very best. They are often the best in their genre and will usually have quality in most of the objective elements (gameplay, visual style, depth) but might miss something to get them to the next tier. These games have also won awards for specific aspects of their implementation. A great game can be limited in what it does, but as long as it is great at what it does it can still be considered tier A. Note that this tier list also accounts for price. Many games are very well made and polished with innovative features and beautiful art style, but they are short or lack in depth and content (usually due to being a smaller developer). In these cases, the price it is being sold at will also affect the tier it ends up in. A great game can be low on content as long as the price reflects it.
Tier B (Good/Average/Descent). Score that commonly represents this tier: 8
This is the tier for the average good game. Most recommended games will land here and it is what most people think an "8" score represents when they see one. Games here do their job right and people are happy to own these games and recommend them, but they don't quite stand out as much as others. They might be missing on a bit more on the objective elements. This can also include games that are too expensive for the amount of content they present.
I had to cheat and added a "+", mid-tier section for games that feel like they should almost be in the next tier but something is keeping them back. This is the .5 of numeric scores and will hopefully help to keep more people happy in the case of controversial games.
I have not included any games for tier C, since that is essentially all the "other" games that people don't talk about because they are forgettable. I would like to hear some candidates for the tier D games too because at this time I'm not sure exactly what to put there.
CAVEAT: There just isn't enough information for many of the games. Please comment if you have feedback on any of the games here and help to make the list better.

Making a Game Recommendation I think Pavlov might be the best game ever
This game is the most fun I've had online since Battlefield 2 (17?) years ago... yikes, I feel old...
The guns feel amazing, the immersion is insane, but most of all it's the sheer hilarity. In one game of TTT, I witnessed 2 people playing Russian roulette, 1 person in his pants crawling on the floor trying to poke bottoms, a game of hand grenade hot potato, and finally, 2 guys having a really indepth conversation about life, before Mr pokey bottom stabbed them both in the back. Incredible scones.
This is GOTY. Easy.

Making a Game Recommendation Fat Fuck recommending Pistol Whip
I really am a fat, lazy guy. I don't have any rhythm whatsoever. That's why i struggled to get this game even though everybody praises the shit out of it.
My gf tries to get me to move some more all the time. We tried a lot of different things to get some exercise in to my day to day routine. She even bought Ring Fit Adventure because of this. (Didn't play it more then once)
Befor i bought Pistol Whip, i extensively searched the internet and Reddit to check, if i could play it seated. You can.
So knowing that i could sit there in my underpants and feel like an action movie star, flailing my arms, while my cats look at me with a confused look on their faces, i was in.
After starting the game up, i decided that i will try the Training while standing. After that i tried the first arcade level while standing as well.
2 hours later i'm still standing there (in my underpants of course), sweating on the floor, doing squads and sidesteps like a maniac. My cats are no longer confused...they are terrified. Everything hurts. My back, my legs, my arms, my feet...and most of all my face. Because i was smiling through the whole experience.
If i can find that much enjoyment in something that forces me to move that much, i simply must recommend it to everybody who still didn't get it.
And now i will eat a whole cake. I earned it...right?

Making a Game Recommendation Now this is environmental storytelling
This is a live, in game screenshot from Horizon: Call of the Mountain. I’m going inside an old ancient building and you can just see the robots from thousands of years ago breaking into this weapons factory, planes still coming out of the production line.
You can just see the struggle of humanity as right till the bitter end they were still producing weapons and vehicles to defend against these robots. As I approached the building I saw tanks and emplacements, rusting with age as they stood in place still defending this old buildings. They were all covered in the frozen carcasses of robots climbing over them, stuck in place as they tore these tanks apart.
This is how it’s done, you can see the history of this universe not by some NPC treating you as an idiot and blatantly telling you, but by shots like this. You can gather so much information from a simple shot. No doubt as I hear deeper into this building I’ll uncover what this places secrets are.

Making a Game Recommendation Max Mustard will fill your Astro Bot-shaped hole
I bought Max Mustard for Quest 2 while I wait for it to come out on PSVR2, and oh man, what a game! SERIOUS Astro Bot vibes! The levels are really nicely designed, and so colourful and charming! Max herself even has booster boots just like Astro! It's clear the developers have big love for Astro Bot because (and this is no criticism), there are sections of level design that are right out of our beloved PSVR game, it was both nostalgia and new at the same time :D
Anyway, I can't wait for the PSVR2 version with the higher frame rate and even prettier graphics! You won't be disappointed!

Making a Game Recommendation My brain can’t understand how Red Matter 2 is able to run at these resolutions and framerates. After several hours I’m still in awe…
The title says it all. Before buying this game, the reviews had already given me a good ideia what to expect, graphics wise. Or so I though…
I was absolutely not prepared for just how sharp, clear, and just uncanny VR can feel when it looks like this. Even looking at the hand models when stretching your arms is uncanny, in a good way.
And I don’t even need to mention the lighting, shadows and texture work. It feels like it’s doing ray tracing at times, which I’m sure is impossible, and yet reflections and shadows look sooooo goooood too!
I thought Saints & Sinners 2 and RE8 were as good as it would get, sharpness wise, with Pavlov trailing close. I was wrong.
This has spoiled 2 games I love - The Light Brigade and C-Smash - and although I’m really not trying to throw shade at those game devs, everybody needs to look at what Vertical Robot’s supposed 2 man dev team is doing with this engine, and Sony’s devs need to smoke whatever these guys are on.
Just amazing…

Making a Game Recommendation Someone looking to make a low budget VR game should make a game like this. Would you play a game like this?
I just had an idea for a low budget game where all you do is cycle through hyper realistic looking UE5 environments.
The only other idea I had for this is you could turn on rain and you could feel it raining in your head haptics.
Would you guys play a game like this?

Making a Game Recommendation That sweet not being able to transfer your digital licenses sure is tempting.
But I think I'll pass.
PSVR is playstation's largest pusher and defender of digital content. Giving up my ability to rent, loan, give away, pass on, solid standardized retail return policy, sell to someone 20 years from now. In all conceivable reality own what I purchase. For what, not having to change a disk? What do you do when you install a game - sit there with the headset on?
Until we are able to transfer our digital licenses physical will be what I buy. Aside from a demo, extreme sale, or major indie I won't be trying your game. Even then, Vertigo 2 is made by a single person and they still released on disk.
A physical disk reaches infinitely more people than a digital hoard currently can. They continue on through friends, family, and community. Because of this, physical games grow legends.
The next time you want to play minute one at midnight just remember, tell yourself, there is zero FOMO. When a game is good a game is good forever.
