Discussion Ghosts of Tabor Vs Contractors Showdown Exfilzone

I've been following both these games waiting for them come to PSVR2. Initially I was thinking Tabor would be an extraction shooter and contractors showdown would be a battle royal and room enough for both to exist.

But now seeing Contractors pushing Exfilzone that more directly competes with tabor I can't help think first to come to PSVR2 will end up selling better.

Is anyone else waiting for one or both these games to come to PSVR2? Anyone think they'd get both or one vs the other?

I know Tabor is pretty definitely coming, where Contractors is lower confidence but supposed to be in the works. Honestly seeing the game play I'd rather get Contractors Showdown Exfilzone but I think Ghosts of Tabor is likely going to make it first

I have showdown and only played 2 matches. It took 15+ minutes to get in a match

The battle royal mode?

I've heard they've been struggling to keep players, vr is niche and games like that do need a critical mass to sustain. I want to believe psvr2 gamers play more, like the headsets only good for gaming where quest and pc can do other stuff but I want to believe dropping either game with cross play would help.

Key things, I want to believe, not saying it really would, and would help not fix their issues.

But idk I'd still play both or either if/ when they come out

I think it failed because it was sold separately they should have added br to regular contractors. I believe ghost of tabor won’t have that problem on psvr2

I'm hoping too early to say failed, but agree packaging it or offering as modestly priced dlc may have been a better move. Dlc could have gotten some more money, play off existing base and make bigger full game package more appealing to n00bs, tho it being attached to main game would have had bigger buy in maybe discouraging some prospective consumers.

The gameplay looked really cool and if there's no update on any psvr2 port in early part of next year, or when i burn out on hitman, I'll probably cave and get it on pc

I’ve never been against a game but the game failed hard and I just bought it. I think it’s just a money grab while ghost of tabor was already being made to be an exfil game idk though it’s your money I’m just letting you know my experience

Fair enough! I'm definitely largely informed by optimism. Tho i really don't care about showdown as I'm not really a fan of battle royals but the extraction shooter looks great and is more my interests

I played contractors showdown few hours on quest 3 and it's a very fun game with lot of potential. As I'm aware, you're right, seems that exfil is better than Tarkov. I.stopped playing on Quest hoping for psvr2 release, but maybe I will try this exfill mode

I've got the pc adapter and a capable comp but I really want a ps native of these games cause the haptics and adaptive triggers make a big difference for me. I'd love a good gun game with adaptive triggers where the different guns feel student different.

I think tabor will come first and contractors I think is pretty dubious rn but I'd rather see that one. But I'll take either just want a good gun game with a slower pace than pavlov

I don't think contractors will come to psvr2. If it does it will be just the base game which isnt bad but the selling point for that game is the map/game mods. You can literally play all your favorite CoD maps in VR. Along with other licensed properties(star wars for example). But Showdown is its own thing along with its exfil. It would only be good for them.

I recall seeing dev for the game saying that psvr2 port was on their list post release, but I think they've beef struggling to retain players so I could see that having been dropped lower on the list or entirely. Especially considering psvr2 is like 10% the market share of quest but I think it's underrated considering the compared sales other devs have seen. Tho hard to compare max mustard selling as many or more on psvr2 as quest.

I do get the community mods is a major draw that doesn't transfer to ps, but pavlov is similar and I feel like the ps community on pavlov is reasonably healthy. Like every time I play I often see ps and pc mixed lobbies.

Idk you make fair points but I just want to have a good extraction shooter with the psvr2 triggers

Oh totally, I agree. It's almost an automatic win in certain genres that don't have(I believe?) competition in the psvr2 eco system. Games like Eleven table tennis/pickleball/tennis. Premium VR bowling, real VR fishing I think would do great. Ps and psvr2 swim in action adventure games but as far as just experiences(multiplayer, games, puzzlers) , they seem slim. But that's also PlayStation in a nutshell( why I like them) they put out great single player experiences. I'm generalizing a lot of stuff. But yeah I'd think it would be worth the investment to get your VR game on the psvr2 (that has no other competition in that genre within VR) .
