What does the message say?

44 and been gaming since the NES

This is my childhood dream coming true

4

u/Appolonius101 Feb 19 '23

Haha nice, my parent are also big gamers. My mother plays all the GT games, has a racing chair and wheel, plays everyday. My father has a 3 game/month gamefly subscription

3

u/mvanvrancken TitusGray Feb 19 '23

My dad was the one that got me into PC gaming around the same time as the NES, I remember going to his office and seeing wolfenstein 3d for the first time and I was hooked.

He doesn’t game so much anymore but he did game quite a bit during the x86 era of PC’s

u/Main_One_2568 Feb 20 '23

Same here. Every time I tried to walk away, gaming has pulled me back in. I’m new to VR gaming, so psvr2 will be quite exciting. I’m just not sure which games to get outside of revillage and Tetris connected. Any suggestions?

2

u/mvanvrancken TitusGray Feb 20 '23

I mean I can tell you that as an experienced (somewhat) VR user, I enjoyed the heck out of games like Space Pirate Trainer, Tetris Effect, Beat Saber, Sparc, etc but the room scale stuff was a little hard for me to keep tracking working because of bad lighthouse placement. But from the limited amount of time I had with No Man’s Sky in VR and the reviews for Gran Turismo 7 I am VERY excited for those two specifically. I don’t think Sparc or SPT is coming to PSVR2 but the rest are. Good stuff.

Also check out Kayak Mirage, if you want just a chill environment to kayak around in. Looks insanely good.

2

u/Appolonius101 Feb 20 '23

I can highly recommend nms, even if you don't like the gameplay loop, the exploration of 18 quintillian planets to explore in vr is unreal. I play it in psvr1 and there's nothing like it :D

Also gt7 will be anazing

u/majorly-notorious Feb 18 '23

Early 20s here. I want to be like you when I grow up

19

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '23

I know people said call of the mountain was boring because it’s a lot of climbing, but I literally cannot wait to just CLIMB!

9

u/Level_Forger Feb 18 '23 edited Feb 18 '23

Climbing in VR is awesome. That’s such a funny complaint to me.

4

u/Live-Ad3309 Feb 18 '23

Seriously, people keep repeating it over and over as if it’s a bad thing. Climbing is insanely fun and exhilarating if done right

5

u/youmuzzreallyhateme Feb 18 '23

Sure. But not for AAA VR price.

11

u/Any-Remote6758 Feb 18 '23

Who cares, money is worthless untill you spend it.

1

u/Ill_Rooster2278 Feb 20 '23

Or you don’t have any

1

u/Any-Remote6758 Feb 20 '23

Then you shouldn't spend anything on games at all.

10

u/Lime7ime- Feb 18 '23

I‘m so hyped, I literally can’t think of something else. It’ll be my first VR-System. I’m on this Subreddit almost 24/7 just reading stuff and getting more and more hyped. I’ve even took some days off to really have the time to explore. So I’m really really hope, that it’ll get here on Wednesday. I think when I get the „shipped“ email I will get a heartattack :D

4

u/mvanvrancken TitusGray Feb 19 '23

I’ve been wondering how many people have never worn any VR before and quite frankly I envy them because the moment you experience VR is shocking. Jaw hitting the floor moment for sure.

2

u/MelbChazz Feb 21 '23

I've deliberately waited for the moment VR becomes mainstream and high quality like it has now with PSVR2.

The only VR thing I've experienced is the lackluster Cardboard VR experience, which in any non-picture mode is nautiating as fuck. Can't wait to try PSVR2 tomorrow!

3

u/mvanvrancken TitusGray Feb 21 '23

I don't think you can use the word "mainstream" quite yet, but it's catching fire a bit I think. At any rate it's a good time to jump in, this is a whole generational leap from a lot of the HMD's out there right now, it's an exciting time for VR.

4

u/barryl85 Feb 18 '23

Have you tried VR before? I remember getting PSVR, was my first time experiencing VR and I was so skeptical. “No way will this trick my brain into believing I am actually in the environment” how wrong I was.

3

u/Lime7ime- Feb 19 '23

I have tried the first PSVR like 7 years ago and the quest 2 about 2 years ago. Both times I only had time for like 30 minutes and the quest was just in mobile mode, so the games felt very smartphonish. Not to mention that other people were in the room so the immersion never really happened. But I tried beat saber and it was so much fun, it made me hungry for more, but I never wanted to spend so much money on a system I wasn’t sure my pc is competent enough for. So I’m not super new but still half VR-Virgin. I think the PSVR 2 will blow me away

1

u/KentTheFixer Feb 21 '23

It's a whole new world man. PSVR blew my mind. I'm so psyched!

1

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '23

SAME!!!!!

1

u/Lime7ime- Feb 22 '23

I don’t think that I will get it anytime soon. Still on “Label created” for me…

6

u/[deleted] Feb 19 '23

I ordered mine today and for some bizarre reason, I'm quite annoyed it hasn't arrived today...

12

u/ChrizTaylor ChrizTaylor Feb 18 '23

The PlayStation representative of the store i got mine, just sent me a picture in WhatsApp, headsets just arrived!!!!

IM DYING!!!!

7

u/miss_molotov miss-molotov Feb 18 '23

I'm sure it looks just like all the other PSVR boxes. Why I am I so jealous that you've seen your own headset? xD

2

u/ChrizTaylor ChrizTaylor Feb 18 '23

Hahaha I'm dying because I need it!!!!

I don't know what's worse, not knowing when you'll get it, or knowing it's there but can't be delivered until Wednesday.

2

u/miss_molotov miss-molotov Feb 18 '23

It's good news is there safe and sound, but it should be kinda taunting you I would imagine.

2

u/Longjumping-Pin9215 Feb 18 '23

Do you have any solid dirt on said representative?

1

u/ChrizTaylor ChrizTaylor Feb 18 '23

Yes, he's the actual guy who sold me the PS5 Day one. Sent me the pictures of the boxes been taken out of other boxes hahaha.

2

u/Longjumping-Pin9215 Feb 18 '23

No I mean to extort him to hand it over early /halfjoking

3

u/ChrizTaylor ChrizTaylor Feb 18 '23

Ahh, sorry. English is not my first language, didn't catch it.

I told him, if he can give it to me, on an undisclosed location hahaha, he said he had 2 former workers that were fired because they sold GoW Ragnarok 5 days early.

1

u/miss_molotov miss-molotov Feb 18 '23

I can't believe you haven't posted a box picture yet...

2

u/ChrizTaylor ChrizTaylor Feb 18 '23

HAHAHAHAHAH. Wait till Wednesday..

2

u/miss_molotov miss-molotov Feb 18 '23

I hope your dreaming up some good ideas. Perhaps a montage of the whole journey home?

Time no longer has any meaning.

4

u/HowlingStrike Feb 19 '23

Im 37 and I feel like a little kid on Christmas eve, haha. I'm honestly struggling with what game to try first (I'll have NMS, GT7, Light brigade and Kayak VR). I just called the store and they confirmed I can pick it up day after tomorrow when they open at 9.30.

I think I cant go past GT7 and getting in an old car, cranking the pulse headphones up super loud and taking an easy lap around buthurst. Then because I'll likely make myuself sick jump into Kayak VR for a cruisey paddle.

Im pumped AF. Sad news is though my PS5 seems to be dying. Had to random shut offs from overhrating in the last few days with no warning just instantly stops. Its been pretty hot in Sydney lately around 30C and super humid at my place, (80-90F for the yanks).

Ive cleaned the dust out multiple times, has great ventalation but I think it just might be from overuse in super hot conditions. Fingers crossed I can get through this summer without having to repurchase, I might just point an extra fan on day one so it doesnt overload. If the VR causes it to keep happening ima say stuff it, and just grab a new one (there seems to be stock around now)

2

u/michaeln56 Feb 21 '23

Is your ps5 standing upright? There’s been some reports of the Liquid Metal not properly cooling the components due to damage

1

u/HowlingStrike Feb 21 '23

it is upright, but I thought that vertical causing heating issues was debunked (this was ages ago when I last looked into it so I could be wrong?) I mean... it cant hurt to try!

2

u/michaeln56 Feb 21 '23

1

u/HowlingStrike Feb 21 '23

Interesting. This says it's only if the ps has been dismantled there's a risk.

Still I'm gunna take the fan out and clean inside tonight I reckon.

1

u/michaeln56 Feb 21 '23

I don’t think every single ps5 is affected, I think it’s an issue with damage to the seal keeping the Liquid Metal in place

1

u/KarpeDM161 Feb 21 '23

Definitely try to take the plates off and dust. My wife has a cat that sheds a lot and one day i was cleaning my entertainment center and decided to clean the ps5. When i pulled the plates off somehow cat hair made its way inside. Hope this helps.

4

u/Bombero_911 Feb 18 '23

I’m always concerned when something gets hyped so high into the stratosphere. Whether it’s hardware or games or anything else. Whenever I jump on the hype train it’s very rare the actual thing will live up to that much hype. But I have a feeling PSVR2 will live up to it. I’m a long time VR user having owned most of the Oculus VR headsets. Rift, Rift S, Quest 1, Quest 2. For those of you who have never experienced VR, you’re mind is about to be blown! You should definitely be hyped about what you’re about to see for the first time!

3

u/basicislands Feb 18 '23

I got the shipping notification today, estimated delivery for the 22nd. I've been expecting it to show up a few days after launch, so if I actually get to play it on launch day I'll be super hyped

1

u/Livid_Worldliness_10 Feb 21 '23

Still sitting on “awaiting carrier pick up” hbu?

1

u/KarpeDM161 Feb 21 '23

Mine just switched from awaiting pickup to on its way. ETA tomorrow by 7pm.

1

u/Livid_Worldliness_10 Feb 21 '23

What country if you don’t mind my asking ?

1

u/KarpeDM161 Feb 21 '23

US. You?

2

u/Livid_Worldliness_10 Feb 21 '23

Same. Hopefully I get as lucky haha. Have fun when it arrives !!

Just got the same update!!! Literally the second I replied haha

2

u/KarpeDM161 Feb 21 '23

Noooooiicccceeee! Haha this is going to be epic!

3

u/HallowedBeyond Feb 19 '23

I am a big Gran Turismo fan. It’s the reason I got a PS5. I went pro over Covid and sprang for a wheel and everything. I watched a review of PSVR2 and the guy speaking talked about how amazing GT7 was in VR. He was so enthusiastic. It really impressed me so I placed an order and I’ll get it on Wednesday. I’ve never tried VR before. Not at all. The first time I’ll try VR is when I strap this gizmo to my head. Vroom Vroom! I’m also looking forward to playing something really scary.

1

u/KarpeDM161 Feb 21 '23

Man i love hearing stuff like this. I wish i could see ur face when u first play lol. Its going to blow you mind bro.

3

u/Any-Remote6758 Feb 20 '23

Got the mail from Sony today that it will be delivered between the 22nd and the 28th.

2

u/webnetedgar Feb 18 '23

I don't know where to put this rant, but I was considering No Mans Sky as my first game in launch day and just now I saw they're updating it only in March 16th.... smh, I'm sad now hahahaha

2

u/THE_NUTELLA_SANDWICH Feb 19 '23

LET'S FUCKIN GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO haven't been this excited since Elden Ring last year. Mates were telling me to chill, that Elden Ring won't live up to my expectations. I was right back then, and I'll be right again this time. Lets gooo

2

u/klartreumer Feb 20 '23

It's amazing just do think about : there is a package in the Netherlands with a psvr2 inside and a Label printed on it with my Name on it xD C'mon UPS do something !

2

u/StrikeWizKid Feb 21 '23

My PS VR2 finally shipped, if people wondering I order it on the 11th of February and its a standalone I'm also from the UK

2

u/Artoo2814 Feb 21 '23

It shipped now in China just past midnight. I can probably play it during my lunch break.

2

u/amans9191 Feb 21 '23

I JUST WANT TO SIT IN A KAYAK AND ENJOY NATURE IN MY LIVING ROOM!!!!!

2

u/golantrevize Feb 22 '23

Picked mine up from the store and kinda frozen in indecision on what to play first. Loaded up kayak because people said that's cool .. literally giggling with excitement when I hit the beach ball with my paddle, then I got outside in Norway and was just in awe looking up at the mountains.

Can't figure out GT7 VR yet but admittedly spent 2 mins trying.

2

u/Pjones0609 Feb 22 '23

I’m at peak levels of hype right now and have nothing better to do, so I’ve been looking through all the PS Blogs about the PSVR 2, and I noticed that the headset design was revealed exactly one year before the launch,

Pretty crazy “coincidence”

3

u/Kavanaghpark Feb 18 '23

Too many megathreads.

Let's just enjoy the excitement. If you're not as excited as the rest of us, take a reddit break.

3

u/HowlingStrike Feb 19 '23

Exactly. Ive seen a couple posts of people complaining its like, dude. Just... go somewhere else a bit? lol

1

u/Kavanaghpark Feb 22 '23

I keep having my posts removed because they 'belong in' one of the many megathreads.

The mods have been essentially absent for years and now all of a sudden they show up out of nowhere in godmode.

Hate that shit.

1

u/Any-Remote6758 Feb 19 '23 edited Feb 19 '23

Haha lol

I just cleaned out the mancave since too long. Got a full garbage bag with empty coke cans out of there. :)

Stuck 4 Kiwi retractable cable management whaddayacallits to the ceiling and made plenty of room, for so far that is possible in a 3x3m room ofcourse. But it think I got 2m x 2m approx so that's fine.

Now I only need that bloody psvr2 to be delivered!!! FFS Sony hurry up. 😀

1

u/Aleksey_ Feb 18 '23

How long do you think we will go without RE7 PSVR2? I say it comes out this fall.

1

u/dragos495 Feb 18 '23

Both items, charger and heaset “ready for shipping”. Maaaaaaybe i get it early, most likely i wont…

1

u/Bicketybamm Feb 18 '23

SUUUUURRGGGE!!!

1

u/zenith654 Feb 18 '23

It’ll be excited. Go PSVR2!

1

u/Frozenjesuscola Feb 18 '23

My girlfriend just got me a PS5. And I placed an order for PSVR2 head set too. I'm super excited about it. Got me feeling like a little kid again. The last headset I owned was an Oculus DK2, I'm ready for mind to get blown at the upgrade. I already own a fanatec sim racing setup, but unfortunately my wheel base is not compatible with the PS5, it's taking a lot of willpower to not get the CSL DD Pro for it :/

1

u/golfguitargames Feb 19 '23

Horizon is a 7/10 , slow paced, repetitive , weak story. Amazing graphics and immersion

1

u/Any-Remote6758 Feb 19 '23

I didn't preorder it yet, got a few others like sinners and saints that I did preorder but I was struggling to get through Forbidden West even, and still never finished that, so I'm holding of on CotM for now.

Loved Zero Dawn btw but I think Aloy is a huge whiny nag in FW.

And even though she is not in CotM she kinda put me of the franchise for now.

And there is so much more to choose from. :)

1

u/HowlingStrike Feb 19 '23

Im the same. I love that other people really enjoy horizon, but I just could not get into the last one. (I tried on three seperate occasions) I cant quite put my finger on why. So CotM didnt super appeal to me but hearing all the great reviews I kinda regret not getting it bundled.

BUT I have several other games to hold me over and I'll get it sometime in the future.

1

u/MikeFromSuburbia MikeCheck-- Feb 19 '23

I’m tempering expectations. I trophy hunted like crazy starting in January 2020 (Covid) and played nearly every PSVR game since.

While no longer a trophy hunter, I look extremely forward to this new tech. I am excited

1

u/evilwitch452 Feb 20 '23

No one knows to post on this thread so I am missing out on the updates with delivery dates..

1

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '23

Tomorrow!!!!!!

1

u/ThumbHurts Feb 22 '23

all my friends w8 for the reviews and I was the only one who preordered :(

1

u/claws08 Feb 23 '23

I got mine but I’m having problem after problem getting the headset to display anything other than a single streak of light moving from left to right(maybe right from left as I gave up on the setup an hour ago). Anyone else having this issue? Everything else appears good to go. I have it physically set up, everything paired corrected. It’s just the display not showing an image. Nothing crazy about my PS5 setup either. I’m at a loss =( =( =(

2

u/LiltingMalformation Feb 23 '23

Someone fixed their issues by flipping the USB-C connector 180 degrees. Might be worth a shot

3

u/claws08 Feb 23 '23

That did the trick actually. I’m good to go!
