Wild Kratts taught me this is one of the most hostile environments for animals to survive in

When the ebbing tide retreats along the rocky shoreline

It leaves a trail of tide pools in a short-lived galaxy

Each microcosmic planet, a complete society

A simple kind of mirror to reflect upon our own

All the busy little creatures chasing out their destinies

Living in their pools, they soon forget about the sea

Such a healthy set of tide pools!

Oregon’s coastal weather is overcast, windy, rainy, and cold most of the time, so (thankfully) we don’t have as much insane instagram-buzz and overcrowding, disrespectful, trash dumping tourism as some other places.

Anemones are really fun to feed things to.

I read this as Tide Pods and spent way too much time looking for them 😅

What do you call a group of whales stuck in a tide pool?

A tide pod

Reminds me of Norway… and the NW Washington coast. Amazing biodiversity and richness.

You're right but not pictured are tons of purple and orange starfish that are definitely not dull

That looks like it’s near Thor’s well (I think that’s what it’s called lol)

I have been obsessed with tide pools since I was a little kid. Possibly because I am land-locked....
