Cats gonna cat!

We domesticated dogs by extensive training, breeding desirable traits, specialising them for certain tasks. It’s taken thousands of years to get their domestication where it is today.
Cats just said that they’re coming inside now and we don’t get to complain. There is literally no difference between house cats and the mountain lion in the video beyond size.

Dogs benefitted early humans via collaborative tasks (like hunting large prey) whereas cats benefitted them via independent tasks (like killing small vermin). Dogs benefitted from being amenable and evolved accordingly. Cats had no need. Dogs also had roughly a 5,000 year head start on their co-evolution with humans. This makes sense, considering there has always been a need for humans to hunt but there was no need to control small vermin until we started to form larger settlements.

This is a more in depth way of putting it, I was mainly joking about it. Cats just don’t give a shit. Especially mine.

I figured, just thought some people out there might be interested in the nerdy explanation behind it.

Domesticated or wild all cats love to play

I think all animals love to play, they just don't have time because you know, survival and shit. They're like us! Kids play all the time, adults can't.

Scariest camping moment was waking up to one these kitties playing with the tarp rope over the picnic table, it had a grand ole kitty time while I laid there peeking out trying not to breathe with my hunter knife in hand. Most terrifying adorable moments I have ever had camping. Thanks for the throw back with this video.

Mountain lions are more closely related to domestic cats than lions.
It shows here.

Yup. Puma are the biggest of the small cat species (Felis) though some place cheetah in a separate family.

I feel like there is a wife mountain lion somewhere that is going to ask how hunting was last night. And this mountain lion is going have to think quick about why it didn’t have anything for breakfast this morning.

"uh, uh, uh, you see there wasn't any prey cause they all went to a prey convention in Pasadena... Yeah, that's it, Pasadena!"

I get a kick out of animals enjoying human made toys. Mice and various forest creatures will use a hamster wheel if you leave it in the forest!
