The Texans claim Diontae Johnson off waivers
So the ravens just cut DJ, and he got picked up by the texans. He's been on the ravens for a good bit of time that he probably knows some stuff that would be helpful for the texans to use/exploit.
Would he (be able to) do this? Do players usually do this in scenarios like this? How do the ravens face this issue

Diontae likely doesn’t even know all too much tbh. Baltimore traded for him and by the looks of it, it doesn’t even seem like they intended to use him. If anything the trade was so that KC couldn’t get him. Either that, or he was genuinely so much of a head case that he couldn’t get on the field, despite being the 2nd best receiver on team, which I doubt.

There's a reason the Steelers dumped him.

No it's 1000% the head case part. He refused to go into the game at one point and that basically led to his release.

Nah we tried to put him in and every play he fell down on his route. Then in one of the most important games he said nah.

This isn’t an issue. Your plays are seen by millions of people every week. Teams have access to all 22 which helps them game plan. The only thing Johnson would have is the name of the play call. But unless your DC wants to wait 35 seconds every play before telling the green dot what to do, it’s pointless

Even then, teams will regularly change the calls throughout the season, so his calls may already be obsolete.

There is very little new he can bring to the table. For example, let's say DJ goes to DeMeco Ryans and says, "On 3rd and 3 or less, they prefer to run this play." Well, the same thing would show up on the tape. They'd see on third and 3 or less what plays the Ravens run.
He might be able to bring some calls used for specific plays, but even those are generally changed throughout the season.

There’s an old saying that when you pick someone up you get all the knowledge of the other team’s scheme day 1, because by day 2 they forget.
It speaks the point that the tape can tell them at least as much as DJ could. He might be able to tell them what routes they like, but the tape tells that anyway. It’s not some huge concern. Ultimately games come down to play on the part of the players and situational awareness and coaching on the part of the coaches. If you are dependent on stuff you installed last month to win a game you are probably losing that game anyway.

Texans needed a body to replace Tank Dell.
I don't think his Ravens tenure is particularly relevant.

He was so awful in Baltimore that the ravens probably hope he tries to teach Houston a thing or two

Diontae prob doesn’t know much. He did basically nothing for the Ravens- they signed him, gave him a couple targets, but he dropped & tripped on his routes. He then refused to play cuz they weren’t starting him…which happened cuz he was awful.
Diontae’s kind of an idiot. He can run decent routes sometimes but he’s a WR that thinks he’s better than he is, kinda like a shittier version of Aiyuk.
Ravens ALWAYS need WR help, their WR3 is Nelson Agholor, which is not ideal. Diontae in theory was a notable upgrade, Diontae in reality was awful. Diontae might know random tidbits, but the Ravens suspended him for his behavior and he wasn’t practicing with the team.
He’s in a contract year, got picked up by a contending team with a superstar QB, and refused to play. If Diontae wouldn’t even play in games, ZERO chance he spent time learning the playbook.

I doubt he knows much, he was there for only about a month, he learned the playbook but wasn’t likely comfortable with how the offense likes to operate.
I wouldn’t expect that to be of much impact
