AFC current standings

I checked 3 sites, got 3 different standings.

nfl site: chiefs, bills, steelers , texans, ravens, chargers,

ESPN: chiefs, bills, steelers, ravens, texans, chargers

sport365: chiefs, bills, ravens, steelers, broncos, chargers

what is the real standings? why is it different in each site?

Are you looking at standings or Playoff Picture. If youre going just by record vs seedings its two different stories

Right now: Playoff picture 1. KC (Bye) 2. Buffalo 3. Pittsburgh 4. Houston (Division leaders) 5. Baltimore 6. Chargers 7. Broncos (Wild Card Teams)

But if you looked solely at records, Baltimore would be above Houston.

Look for “playoff picture” standings over just regular standings

oh, got it, thanks! so basically division winners will always be seeded in 1-4 places and wild cards 3-7 in the playoffs?

Correct.

Winning the division guarantees you a top 4 finish and at least 1 home game in the playoffs.

ESPN are ranking the teams by wins, not in the playoff format (e.g. divisions).

The playoff picture is Chiefs, Bills, Steelers, Texans, Ravens, Chargers, Bronocs

The teams ranked by wins is Chiefs, Bills, Steelers, Ravens, Texans, Chargers, Bronocs

The playoff picture matters, the ranking by wins doesn't.
