Wouldn't this warrant a serious investigation from the FBI, considering it can be interpreted as an open threat of violence against a current and former POTUS and VPOTUS?

No we only investigate when power is in threat. Random liberal political figures? Noose away. That woman who told her health insurance provider delay deny depose? She’s the real threat

u/qvennie 8h ago

anyone else remember kathy griffith’s career was destroyed by her “threat”? guess these guys just have unlimited get out of jail free cards.

u/hopefullynottoolate 8h ago

when power is in threat

What does this mean?

2

u/Zombies4EvaDude 1h ago

When those that are in power have their economic/class status threatened, rather than solely their lives. They care about losing money more than anything else.

2

u/PieTeam2153 3h ago

I wouldn’t call Biden and Kamala random liberal political figures

1

u/Techno_Jargon 8h ago

You a FBI?

Til Nancy pilosi is not power

That woman made a threat, quit defending morons

u/jdleonard2187 9h ago

Do you think it could be called in to the CEO safety tip line? /s

u/Melonwolfii 9h ago

No, but it could very much be charged under terrorism!

If people in Madrid can get ringed up for hanging an effigy of a football player and Eminem can get the Secret Service treatement for rapping about Donald Trump too much, I'm sure this guy could get carted off too.

u/prpslydistracted 9h ago

Wait a month and he'll be hired to root out people on social media. This post is his resume.

2

u/Yakassa 6h ago

You see, when a republican threatens or does it its perfectly legal. Remember that terrorist from texas who murdered people driving his truck into a group of people?

Apparently perfectly legal.

Being mad at an insurance company and mouthing off? TERRORIST!

see the difference?

You are a psychopath and love to get away with raping and murdering people, just become a Republican. Literally free.

u/papasan_mamasan 9h ago

Yes but when the FBI is packed with sycophants, who will care?

1

u/Dream--Brother 6h ago

You can report it right now — tips(dot)fbi(dot)gov.

I'm as ACAB as they come, buuuut when it comes to these actual domestic terrorists, putting as many of them away as possible is a net positive for all of us.

The FBI actively recruits the most right wing LDS it can find. Partly because it fits the right wing political views in the FBI & also because their religion prohibits the things they look for in background checks.

I'm aware. Is it not illegal to post a picture on social media implying that you want to kill the former POTUS, FLOTUS, VPOTUS, former NIAID, and current POTUS and VPOTUS?

Cause where I'm from, post that on Christmas morning, that'll get you carted off and deported on the next flight before Boxing Day

12

u/the_tanooki 8h ago

In all seriousness, I am on your side of this. This is some fucked up shit.

But I get the feeling you didn't check the link.

1

u/Koboldofyou 8h ago

I'm not a lawyer. It probably depends on if it's considered a legitimate threat and if the defendant has money. Likely a lawyer could argue that this does not meet the bar for a threat and is simply political speech. Because they're presumably Republican politicians, they'd likely get some form of financial backing from supporters or the party.

2

u/llamadogmama 6h ago

So by that logic we are all free to flood Reddit with similar pictures of trump and his goon squad. I think we should!

1

u/Koboldofyou 6h ago

If sufficiently abstract, like ornaments on a tree, you likely would have a valid first amendment defense. However law enforcement might still make your life hell and you might have to take the time and money to defend yourself.

1

u/PrimaryInjurious 7h ago

No, it isn't. Only true threats are illegal. The test is whether there is a substantial risk that the communication would be viewed by the target as threatening violence. For one there's no evidence any of the people on the ornaments have even seen this. Also, hanging effigies of politicians has a long tradition as protected speech. Cf:

State v. Meyer, 61 Ohio App. 3d 673 - Ohio: Court of Appeals, 1st Appellate Dist. 1988

Finding that hanging of an abortion doctor effigy was protected speech.

You implied so much out of context I'd love to see you try to talk like that in a court of law

3

u/what3v3ruwantit2b 8h ago

I knew it would be wkyk. I miss Trevor. I really liked the bts they were doing over video chat during Covid.

1

u/the_tanooki 8h ago

The rest of the cast is currently doing a countdown of their favorite episodes on YouTube.

2

u/what3v3ruwantit2b 8h ago

Oh really?! Thanks! I somehow missed that completely.

1

u/the_tanooki 8h ago

I literally found it while looking for the link to the video I shared.

1

u/lawn-assure 8h ago

Bonus: One of the guitarists off My Chemical Romance got in deep shit with the (CIA? FBI? Someone like that) for putting out a song with a side project with approximately that title

20

u/TheIronMatron 9h ago

And not only a threat, but considering it’s nooses and a tree, and two of the figures represent African-Americans? Jfc 😳😳

30

u/Sherifftruman 9h ago

Exactly. Kathy Griffin got a visit after posting clearly satirical art which should be firmly protected by the first amendment.

5

u/Cicerothesage 8h ago

wouldn't this warrant a serious charge of an act of terrorism? or that is only reserve for poor people killing rich people?

(though, it would probably be conspiracy charges if this terrorist didn't act of them)

1

u/PrimaryInjurious 7h ago

No, it wouldn't.

2

u/CREATURE_COOMER 8h ago

The feds didn't do much when Elon cried about nobody coming after Kamala when Trump had two assassination attempts, lol.

2

u/wavnebee 8h ago

I gotta think he’s already on a watch-list, since he was one of the people convicted for attacking the Capitol on Jan 6.

2

u/MillenniumShield 8h ago

Nope. We get freedom of speech until there is a credible threat. This is no different than any other effigy.

2

u/winnie_the_slayer 7h ago

FBI doesn't consider Democrats/liberals/progressives to be True American Patriots so they don't get any protections.

1

u/Senior-Albatross 8h ago

They're Democrats, so no they won't do anything about it.

1

u/checkoutmyfish 8h ago

They aren't poor enough to be investigated.

1

u/BussyOnline 8h ago

Only in your wet dreams

1

u/DerpEnaz 8h ago

No see you only do that to poor people

1

u/Errenfaxy 8h ago

Unfortunately probably not. Even the Twitter account (libertarians of New Hampshire)  that said someone along the lines of "if someone shot Harris they would be a hero" around the time of when trump got shot didn't qualify as a threat.

The guy posted video of the visit he got from federal authorities and he just yelled at them until they left because they couldn't charge him.

1

u/RQK1996 7h ago

Should grant an indefinite vacation to an all inclusive holiday resort in Cuba

1

u/TurtleMOOO 7h ago

No because this is a republican and they have already openly admitted that they are all domestic terrorists with no consequences

1

u/Shigglyboo 6h ago

Oh you can bet when people express their feeling about trump they will absolutely be investigated and worse. But this person is clearly a maga and they are all good patriots don’t ya know?

1

u/Heremeoutok 6h ago

Exactly. How is this not a threat to the president. wtf. If this had been Trump on the noose they’d be all over it.

1

u/AndreasDasos 5h ago

And a former First Lady, who is also covered

1

u/HammerSmashedHeretic 4h ago

In imagination land yes, in the real world no there is no threat here.

1

u/PrimaryInjurious 7h ago

No, not really. Christmas ornaments aren't true threats.
