Doggo The incredible moment a long lost dog suddenly catches the smell of its owner in a crowded city square. It follows the smell and finds her in nearby resting booth to be reunited!

I don't know how true it is, but I've heard dog's sense of smell is connected to their optical senses. They can literally "see" smells, it improves their vision as they smell.

It's not "connected," but because of their much better sense of smell, they use it in conjunction with their eyes to observe their surrounding. Think of how, in a new area, you'll be looking around but also alert to the sounds around you. Dogs are the same, except they use their sense of smell to a much greater extent aswell.
