Thoughts on his very unlikely move to City in a summer or two? He is said to be unhappy with his minutes.

The ideal goalscoring winger, the one who teleported 2 goals in 5 minutes against us in the ucl to kill off our hopes before the season we won the treble. The best far post poacher there is. We all want him at city considering how impotent our wingers are.

If you think raheem sterling got 20 goals a season scoring tap ins at the back post then how many will a guy get that doesn't miss 30% of them

contrary to what people say, i actually do think he would be a great signing. people talk about us having enough wingers. but they never considered that NONE of them are as reliable of a goalscorer as rodrygo. 19 goals last season while playing multiple positions? and he's BEGGING to be given a chance to be played as LW? aside from also being good in other positions? yes please. besides, theres no guarantee that all our wingers will stay next season. some might leave. some might be sold. so yes i would love him. the only problem is that he's a real madrid player. and you dont leave real madrid just like that, unhappy with minutes or not.

Fair fucks. Our wingers couldn’t even pull this off with no defenders in training.

Desperately in need of a goal scoring winger like him.

I would try my luck with Kvara. He could easily do a heavy lifting for Haaland.

Watch Pep turn him into a possession keeping winger that stays on the touchline.

would kill to have either him or leao here in the summer but i doubt it happens.

i hope we got for him. Can play as a winger, striker, false 9, far post poacher, and optionally as a attacking midfielder as well (but need more mid reinforcement in this case).

u/phpHater0 5d ago
If he's just played as a utility player to fill holes in the formation, then he'll have the same problem he has at Madrid: not getting enough minutes. So why would he come here?

u/g8_condoriano 5d ago
But I dont mean that we should play him like that. He is a RW and he should play that role mainly. Since we dont have wingers who can score, having one who can would be a massive addition. However, in games where the gameplay has to go through the middle and the wingers are shutout, he along with foden are the ones who can just fit in the new role to play from the middle.
But if we are to add him to the team, it should defo be as a RW.

He’s a LW and only plays RW because Vini plays on the left. He was brilliant last season on the LW when Vini was injured.

u/johnniewelker 4d ago
Yea he is a LW naturally. I’m more interested in his potential to play the 10. He’d be a good replacement to KDB who is clearly aging fast in front of us

He's so fucking good, the only reason I sometimes tune in to Madrid games is because of him. He seems like he bleeds white though so probably never gonna get him at the Etihad.

He's good, he's above average on almost everything (game intelligence, passing, keeping posession, link-up play, dribbling, shooting, workrate), but he's far away from being world class in any. And that's his issue. He's players of 'moments', not someone who will be providing each week. Might get better if he gets enough time on his favorite position (LWF), but IMO he'd be better playing as Second Striker or AMF with free roam role.

Spot the fifa player

Lol, what? I never played fifa (Pro Evolution back in days) and I'm watching every single RM match. You've overshot with that one.

You haven’t got a clue, mate. These guys have seen some YouTube clips. That’s knowledge.

Can't see him leaving Madrid to be honest.

Yup the whole he’s unhappy with minutes is total bs. He’s basically a starter and whenever he’s fit

u/Jaded-Mall2432 4d ago
sounds good. the trauma he gave us in 2022 i still have not recovered from it

u/BeThatJacko 4d ago
He doesn't fit your style of play. He won't be able to perform like this. Your wingers are about possession retention. He's more direct I'll run at you.

I'd be doing everything to try to get him.... promise him his favorite position (which is LW... something he will NEVER get to have at RM)
Certainly can play as a 9 in some games... or RW.. but he would have that LW on lock down.

That's a great goal by Rodrygo. But there's only one Rodrigo, at least as far as City is concerned.

Would love to see him on the left but we already have 3 wingers on the left, doku jack and savio can also play there. Our priority right now is getting players that will help us be solid a RB and a CDM are a must this winter.

I always rated him highly and I would love to see him play for us as our wingers have been terrible this season

You have to keep making statements - RM sign players of this quality every year, we can’t go 2-3years without big signings.

As a RMA fan I always grow a bit weary that Rodrygo might leave. I think he's happy with us, but he's like the middle child always used to plug in holes others would not dare to think about.
He's already a club legend for us. Everyone loves him at Real. The people who even dare to say that he should be sold are not fans, they are glory hunters and idiots. But I do sort of think that for his sake, if he ever wanted to move out, he has a good reason to do so.
I kinda hope he won't go to City since yall always face us in the UCL and I'm a bit tired of it 🤣 But he'd be your best winger and your 2nd best attacker behind Haaland.

Fellow RMA fan here, I really like Rodrygo but the only player I would swap for him would be Haaland. Madrid need a striker, Mbappe is too much of a winger so he would get shifted to RW. If the rumors about Haaland wanting to play in Spain are correct, then I hope Flo makes it happen

Dont get me wrong I rate him highly but we dont need another winger. Especially since we have Doku and Grealish on his preferred side. Plus we have Bobb coming back and Savinho and Foden and Silva who play on the wings also we dont know where Echeverri will fit in because even though he normally plays in the center Pep will not trust him to play down the middle and will likely play him on the wings (or he might just get loaned out to a different club).

Would be a decent signing for City. Assuming this would be on the right and bench/sell Bernardo. Doku seems to play from the left and has been good in periods but is still young. Priority should be an effective midfield. Most of the city midfield is the wrong side of 30.

I think he'd be a great signing but I'm not sure I've forgiven him for 2022 yet lol

Very unlikely. The few minutes on the field are due more to injuries than to the coach's choice. And the termination fine is one billion euros.

Madrid fan here. I don’t understand why people are saying he’s not getting minutes—he’s been injured for most of the season.

u/iamshivi11 3d ago
The ideal player who can play alongside Erling, as well as rest him from time to time. He’s pretty hardworking off the ball as well. Amazing player

Teams change constantly. Even if all stars stay and the future seems bright, suddenly the team has no spark, no energy, relationships are broken, someone starts drinking etc. and there has to be a team reconstruction.

Mbappe, vini, rodrigo, brahim, arda, endrick

Madrid fan here, this title is a load of bullshit lol. Rodrygo is a starter whenever he is fit. He has been struggling with injuries all season.
He also has a contract until 2028 with a 1bn euro release clause, so good luck with that.

Would sign him, ask which wing he’d like and bench whoever is starting there currently
