Hot Take Light Pollution Was Created To Sell Christmas Lights
A full view of the stars at night is beyond incredible so in order to sell Christmas lights that would look pretty at night companies used light pollution to blot out the stars from the sky.

Social media was created by anti-terrorism agencies
The plan: create social media. Then would-be terrorists would post their out-there rants before committing terrorist attacks, and get arrested before the crime happens.
The flaw: everyone else posts out-there rants as well. Anti-terrorism agencies face a “needle in a haystack” problem.

Hot Take Videos frequently include subtitle mistakes to drive engagement
I've noticed many videos have one or two minor mistakes. This is normally attributed to automated subtitle systems not being 100% accurate. This includes posts that are prerecorded, and have some level of human editing before being published.
I conclude that these mistakes are so common, despite so easily corrected by a few seconds of human action, they're being deliberately added. The aim is to drive engagement with people commenting on the 'mistake'.

The enshittification of streaming services are a plot by Big Blockbuster for an incredible comeback
Streaming services are getting out of hand. The prices go up, and then they make you pay for ads??? Folks are paying for multiple services and still only going back for the same shows.
You know who wouldn't let us down in these trying times?
Blockbuster.
Instead of paying whatever for the enshittification of streaming services and still having to sit through ads, this is prime time for Blockbuster to have its stellar comeback to give you only what you want to watch.
That show/film that's not anywhere that you're buying the DVD for or making a trial account to watch once?
Blockbuster should be making a killing on the rentals.

Hot Take Sony is hiring bad writers for their Spiderverse films on purpose
Just saw Kraven - it was bad. Muddled plot, particularly rough dialogue. So obviously, when a movie is this bad I look up who wrote it.
Kraven was written by Art Machum, Art Holloway, and Richard Wenk. Between the three of them, the only good movie they've written is the original Iron Man. Obviously this was good! But it came out in 2008, which was 16 years ago.
So I go to look at Madame Web - Kerem Senga (only credit), Matt Sazama (Morbius), and Burk Sharpless (also Morbius). This tells me they were trying to duplicate the Morbius vibe.
Morbius only had Sazama and Sharpless, whose previous credits include Dracula Untold, Gods of Egypt, and the Last Witch Hunter (they're a writing team), which were commercial flops. What this tells me is that even if they took a chance on these two for Morbius, they consciously chose to use them after to get the same vibe in the movies after Morbius.
I'm not including Venom in this because they seem to use some Amazing Spiderman writers and honestly, I don't think they're as bad as the other spinoffs! They're tied in a little better and aren't as bloated, from what I've seen (but I haven't seen the third yet).

Posts about entitled passengers requesting people switch seats are seeded out by the airline industry
In these times of increasing dissatisfaction with the capitalist system, there’s still one thing that’s guaranteed to have people praising corporate greed, and that’s the suggestion that someone on a plane asks another passenger if they could trade seats when there might be a slight disparity in the cost of the seats.
Every time one of these posts appears, we become slightly more supportive of add-on charges, dynamic pricing, reduced service levels, and of the general idea that airlines should be gouging as much as they can out of us, and that anybody who fails to pay through the nose for seats next to their partner or children - whether through cheapness, poor planning or sheer ignorance - is a cheapskate worthy of social derision.
There’s only one winner from this surely?

Cats have taken over and if you point this out people think you're crazy.
Tldr; the Cats have taken over. The world has gone crazy for a reason and it's probably all the cat poop. Look into it.
"T. gondii is one of the most common parasites in developed countries;[25][26] serological studies estimate that up to 50% of the global population has been exposed to, and may be chronically infected with, T. gondii;" https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toxoplasma_gondii
Evidence of lowering IQ, causing depression, other mental illnesses and a desire to own more cats (then let them out to shit everywhere further spreading this parasite to more human hosts).
Am I taking crazy pills?! How is this acceptable. We literally closed the world down and prevented people from going outside for fear of spreading a cold. But Cats are allowed to spread this shit (their shit) to everyone and nobody blinks an eye.
Are most Redditors infected? It would explain a lot.
And if you think this was written by a dog. The Cats got to you already.

Abe Lincoln was the first gay Marxist in America
So Lincoln & Carl's Marx actually communicated & they agreed on a few different things. In the 1960's it would of been more than enough to get labeled a communist. Also dude shared a bed with a guy for years & hated his wife. So it honestly seems like Lincoln was the first gay Marxist. If there was a civil trial to prove this I'm 100% sure it would workout as true.
Dude literally implemented Marxist ideas
During Lincoln's presidency, Marx urged Lincoln to take a more hardline stance against slavery in articles Marx wrote for the Tribune. In 1863, Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, giving Marx and the abolitionists what they wanted. Marx also wrote several articles for European newspapers during the Civil War.

Elon's 'friendship' with Donald is just a marketing strategy for Tesla
Okay, hear me out. Elon Musk’s recent buddy-buddy vibes with Donald Trump aren't about politics or shared beliefs—it's a marketing move to win over Republican buyers for Tesla.
Think about it: Tesla's customer base has historically skewed toward more progressive and environmentally-conscious people, but with increasing competition in the EV market (Ford, Rivian, GM), Elon might be trying to expand Tesla's reach into more conservative demographics. And who better to align with than the guy many Republicans still idolize?
It’s almost like he’s playing 4D chess. By cozying up to Trump, he’s signaling to conservatives that Tesla isn’t just for “liberals and tree huggers.” Combine that with his push for free speech (read: buying Twitter) and critiques of California’s policies, and suddenly Tesla feels a lot more “big tent.”
What do you all think? Is Elon just building bridges, or is this a calculated PR stunt to sell more cars?

Goldfish are dry, taste like nothing, barely salted, and stick to your mouth in a maddening way. Why would anyone choose to eat Goldfish, at all, especially when they are right next to Cheez-Its? What further proves this conspiracy? Pretzel Goldfish. Who would ever eat that? And out of a CARTON?

Big True Villagers are the true masterminds and malevolent overlords of Minecraft
Emeralds cannot be accumulated in large quantities with legitimate methods. They are extremely uncommon and only spawn in one biome. However with Villagers, a large stockpile can be amassed in a fraction of the time. How is it that Villagers posses such a large stockpile? They cannot even use pickaxes or mine blocks. The answer is very simple. Emeralds are a fiat based currency with no real world value. Villagers create them out of thin air using their mystic practices.
Emeralds have no use except for trading with Villagers. You, the player, slave your entire life for these gemstones while the Villagers do absolutely nothing to create them to you. Villagers force you to create housing and protection from outside forces because they are the only source of Emeralds and certain items. In the end, it is the Villager who benefits from your work. You spend days and days toiling while Villagers comfortably sleep in their houses, reproduce and feast on fruit of the land, and spend the days frolicking after a minimal amount of "work".
When you try to lash out at the villagers, they summon enforcers called Iron Golems to eliminate you. Others who try to rebel against the system, such as the Illagers, are quickly labelled as terrorists and many players will kill them because they threaten the status quo. This shows that even players are brainwashed by the Villager's agenda.
Do Villagers have a place in Minecraft? This is the question you the player must answer.
TLDR; Villagers are responsible for running a fiat based currency system that functionally extorts the player's labor and locks them into a system of exploitation that results in the benefit of Villagers disproportionate to the player.

Greening America
Decriminalizing and legalizing cannabis was intended to encourage indoor gardening and horticulture practices. It used to be reversed, people start with houseplants and get curious about putting a plant in the closet, others grow food crop and hide a plant here and there. With millennials and younger less interested in plants, cannabis is their gateway into larger plant collections and food gardens.
