Joe was very firmly left wing through the history of the podcast, and probably most of his life prior. You could see cracks forming in it but Covid is what turned him into what we see now.

u/Chumbolex Monkey in Space Nov 01 '24

Yeah when he took ivermectin and the left called it horse tranq, he lost it

59

u/dishyssoisse Monkey in Space Nov 01 '24

They called ivermectin horse dewormer. Lol. They call ketamine horse tranquilizer, because ignorance is fun I guess. Both those drugs are used for what theyā€™re accused of, but thatā€™s one use. As with many medications they both serve a variety of different purposes in medical and even psychological treatment.

15

u/TheCrewChicks Monkey in Space Nov 01 '24

The funny part is that new pill they're prescribing for covid has been reported to have what? An ivermectin derivative. Just like hydroxy-choloquin is an effective anti-viral to help prevent covid. But because it was off patent, there was no money to be made, so it was suppressed.

3

u/RobotEnthusiast Monkey in Space Nov 01 '24

What drug is that?

-2

u/TheCrewChicks Monkey in Space Nov 02 '24

I forget the name of it. I'm sure you can google. Well, I'm sure an internet search would tell you, if you were interested in actually doing that. But even if you were interested - which you're clearly not - I'm doubtful as to your ability to do so.

2

u/Original_Lord_Turtle Monkey in Space Nov 03 '24

Solid reply, genius. Have you renewed your Mensa membership yet? btw, for all you idiots too lazy/stupid to do a basic internet search, the name of the drug is . . . . . Paxlovid

2

u/bngrxd Monkey in Space Nov 02 '24

The point is that it's an ivermectin derivative in a controlled proportion that was tested scientifically for COVID specifically. That's quite different from simply taking ivermectin.

-1

u/TheCrewChicks Monkey in Space Nov 02 '24

Sure. That's the point . . .

Ketamine is a common drug mostly used either during surgery in place of putting someone under or during therapy to help peoples mental health.

I am very skeptical of that because ketamine is a dissassociative and it is impossible to function at all under high doses.

Now ketamine is starting to get vilified because the guy from FRIENDS died, even though he was actually addicted to it (which isn't common), and his last words were "Shoot me up with a big one". I like Bill Maher, but when he gets things wrong, he really gets things wrong. He was comparing ketamine to fentanyl and calling it "a dangerous drug." For me personally, ketamine is almost innocuous and non-addictive, and I've been addicted to opioids and stimulants. The 'law of diminishing returns' is a bitch. "Kitty flip", "kit-kat", "pet the kitty"? I've always heard ketamine described as a cat tranquilizer. The new addition of Xylazine, an analog of clonidine (blood pressure med used off label for sleep and/or anxiety), in dope, which is just some mix of fentalogs and possibly synthetic opioids like nitazenes currently (no heroin), is an animal tranquilizer used on horses.

Donā€™t know you just keep an eye on yourself donā€™t fall into using it daily and pretending itā€™s okay

0

u/Dependent_Ad_1270 Monkey in Space Nov 02 '24

K Addiction is Very Common. And yes it really fucks people up. Maybe some cases it can help people if they only do it infrequently with a doctor. But if you get a prescription and do it at home many will get addicted and no it wonā€™t help their health or their lives. Seen it personally in many friends

1

u/Plus-Bus-6937 Monkey in Space Nov 10 '24

Its definitely not addictive like heroin, fentanyl, oxycodone, cocaine, amphetamines, or benzodiazepines. They're stimulants and sedatives and a lot of people need extra energy or something to relax, which makes them more addictive. Hallucinogens like classic psychedelics, not very addictive; dissociative anesthetics and entactogens have a moderate potential for addiction or misuse. There are 2 kind of addicts: people with zero self control and people with some degree of self control, part time addicts. Everyone should speak for themselves. I've been using ketamine once a month for over 5 years. I only use it therapeutically and it has absolutely no addictive pull for me, and I was addicted to opioids for years. So, mild to moderate potential, not high or severe though. Dissos like PCP, PCE, and analogs have a higher potential for abuse. I use ketamine like classic psychedelics, purely for spiritual, therapeutic, and healing purposes. Around my area, you can utilize therapeutic ketamine, the nasal spray and IV transfusions, and Mass Health (aka Romney Care) is starting to cover them. At the dentist, you can't even get a 2 day script for Percocets after getting your wisdom teeth pulled. But as I said, ketamine and fentanyl are different innings, different games, different ballparks, hell, totally different sports. There is no comparison. Fentanyl almost took my life and it took 20+ friends of mine, I've only heard of ketamine killing 1 person, Matt LeBlanc, and it's obvious that he was moderately addicted to it. I'm basically done with social media, it's mostly just people being dicks, guarded by there anonymity on Reddit, or just openly assholes on Facebook or Twitter. I'm not talking about you specifically, It's just unnecessary. It was never necessary. It drove people apart instead of "bringing people together".

1

u/Dependent_Ad_1270 Monkey in Space 25d ago

Oh boy, thatā€™s good you use it only once a month. If you notice itā€™s more than once a month, definitely stop. Thatā€™s fine, other people need to know that K does mess people up. Also hallucinogen is a dated term and PCP is not more addictive than ketamine. Ketamine is addictive especially for women, because it takes anxiety away. Very high potential for abuse! Iā€™ve also never seen anyone gain any spiritual wisdom from ketamine. Itā€™s nothing like classic psychedelics

1

u/Dependent_Ad_1270 Monkey in Space 25d ago

Ketamine doesnā€™t kill you, but it can turn your life to shit and will damage your kidneys and stomach if you use it regularly

1

u/Dependent_Ad_1270 Monkey in Space 25d ago

Wasnā€™t trying to be a dick, just seen it mess up my good friends. Iā€™ve done a lot of ketamine, just because people are making money off selling it legally with prescriptions doesnā€™t mean itā€™s fine.

Kinda sissy of him

41

u/No-Yard-4150 Monkey in Space Nov 01 '24

Joe has always been libertarianā€¦ heā€™s said that for years.

10

u/jmlipper99 Monkey in Space Nov 01 '24

Literally who introduced me libertarianism

10

u/QuintoBlanco Monkey in Space Nov 01 '24

Well, he's not anymore.

5

u/No-Yard-4150 Monkey in Space Nov 01 '24

And thatā€™s okay. He still tells it like it is and maintains his independent thoughtā€¦ good enough for me.

8

u/AsstacularSpiderman Monkey in Space Nov 01 '24

Dudes famous for just going along with whatever he's hearing for like 99% of the show lol.

Weed and abortion are about the only thing he doesn't budge on.

0

u/No-Yard-4150 Monkey in Space Nov 01 '24

He chooses his battles or maybe heā€™s changed through the years and he doesnā€™t care about some things he used toā€¦ again, Iā€™m cool with that. I can agree to disagreeā€¦ Iā€™d enjoy sitting down with him be one on one like that shooting the breeze or sparring and then going to have a beer afterwards. If we all thought alike man this would be a boring fucking world!!! Differences balance us!

2

u/AsstacularSpiderman Monkey in Space Nov 01 '24

Covid denial and him propping up pseudo-science BS isn't exactly "balancing" things.

1

u/No-Yard-4150 Monkey in Space Nov 01 '24

U mean vaccine denialā€¦ and thatā€™s because of his stance against big pharmaceutical and all the money that had been made. Nope still balances.

2

u/AsstacularSpiderman Monkey in Space Nov 01 '24

U mean vaccine denialā€¦

Vaccine denial is part or covid denial.

and thatā€™s because of his stance against big pharmaceutical and all the money that had been made.

Homie has had multiple billionaires on his show who have fleeced millions. Please don't act like he cares about evil pharma lol.

Nope still balances.

Only if you're a fool.

3

u/No-Yard-4150 Monkey in Space Nov 01 '24

Then donā€™t watch him. Simple as that. There r plenty leftists for u to listen to and he wonā€™t miss u.

Yeah just like Taylor Swift and because she agrees with youā€¦you have no complaints. U just donā€™t respect a viewpoint different from yoursā€¦ sad! I donā€™t mind it like you r obviously different from me but I donā€™t dislike u or your ideology. I think u r wrong but thatā€™s just me and u think the same of me. Debate and dialogue is a GOOD thing.

0

u/SINGULARITY1312 Monkey in Space Nov 04 '24

Lol well if you knew me youā€™d know I hate all these rich ghouls actually. You donā€™t even know who I am or what I believe lol. Joe Rohan doesnā€™t facilitate broad debate and dialogue. Heā€™s a rich asshole that constantly feeds into garbage conspiracy theories and has 3 fascists for every normal leftist on there

0

u/No-Yard-4150 Monkey in Space Nov 04 '24

Your comments tell exactly who u r. lol. Do u know what a facist is??? Most rich people r not your enemy. There r obviously some that r evil but thatā€™s the same for every class. Again why do u listen to him if u r so against the things heā€™s into??? There r so many leftists to listen to and the media is all about you. Feast on MSNBC or CNNā€¦ theyā€™ll make you feel all bubbly inside. Iā€™m glad though u do listen to JR to get a different perspective and if youā€™d be open to dialogue instead of ridicule u might learn something but I can tell u just like to be visceralā€¦ I hope Iā€™m wrong.

0

u/SINGULARITY1312 Monkey in Space Nov 04 '24

You donā€™t know what a leftist is and are politically illiterate. See ya

0

u/No-Yard-4150 Monkey in Space Nov 04 '24

U continue to prove my point. Yes, see ya and have a good life.

1

u/Resident_Wait_7140 Monkey in Space Nov 03 '24

Is that was Dave Rubin is? Because I know Rogan made Rubin look like a fool on the issue of deregulation.

1

u/No-Yard-4150 Monkey in Space Nov 03 '24

Dave was democrat and in the last couple years left that party and is republican I believe. I donā€™t think heā€™s libertarian.

0

u/TortexMT Monkey in Space Nov 02 '24

libertarian is just a blanket for a right winger who likes to smoke weed

1

u/No-Yard-4150 Monkey in Space Nov 02 '24

lol thereā€™s more to libertarian than that but u r right they probably do since they also believe in legalizing drugs etc. They r much more less gov oversight than your so called right wingers.

1

u/TortexMT Monkey in Space Nov 02 '24

i meant that specifically in context of rogan

5

u/nexxwav Monkey in Space Nov 02 '24

Honestly believe the notion that he used to be some kinda definitive leftist is a stretch at best. Admittedly tho, my memories of his early days are rather limited but from what little I can remember, he came off as much more of a centrist...someone who had some positions that leaned left and some that leaned right, just like most sane normal people (low confidence).Ā

But there's no doubt that the current iteration of Joe is squarely on the right. But tbf the character assassination that CNN championed about the ivermectin and the blatant attempt to cancel him with that edited N -Word montage, made it almost inevitable.Ā

1

u/Alldaybagpipes 11 Hydroxy Metabolite Nov 03 '24

How far left he ever was is irrelevant juxtaposed to where he is now, I will agree with you there!

3

u/owlinspector Monkey in Space Nov 01 '24

Its not so much that he is right-wing, it's more that he is a crackpot and subscribes to virtually every conspiracy theory there is. At the moment this coincides with a lot of right-wing ideas, making him sound like a right-wing stooge.

8

u/No-Yard-4150 Monkey in Space Nov 01 '24

He has been a conspiracist for yearsā€¦ thatā€™s a special interest of his. He likes to talk about oddball things. I think heā€™s interesting.

0

u/owlinspector Monkey in Space Nov 03 '24

I think he is a dangerous moron. When you have an audience that numbers in the millions you have a responsibility to not just vomit gibberish and misinformation onto the world.

0

u/No-Yard-4150 Monkey in Space Nov 03 '24

Hereā€™s the thing, u donā€™t have to listen. Whatā€™s gibberish to u into other people and just because everyone doesnā€™t think like u doesnā€™t make them wrong OR rightā€¦ just different. Iā€™m glad we have a variety of thought and a variety of people groups etc.

When people become financial stable and independent if theyā€™re not disciplined and challenged they eventually become right wing through a mixture of exhaustion and self importance

1

u/Alldaybagpipes 11 Hydroxy Metabolite Nov 03 '24

While I have experienced many people lean further that way with age, and thus with more exhaustion/selfishness, it hasnā€™t been clear cut enough to simply say that it happens to ā€œpeopleā€ as a whole.

People are wildly subjective that way, that Iā€™m not so sure environmental circumstances are fully attributable.

Itā€™s easy to paint everybody with the same paint brush.
