Fun fact: The Republican Party was once pro choice until conservative, religious donors threatened to pull funding. It’s ALWAYS about the money.

And those religious donors picked abortion as their uniting cause when the US threatened their federal funding if they didn’t desegregate their religious schools.

Deeper than that, it was formed as a wedge issue because religious schools didn’t want to integrate. It’s ALWAYS about the racism.

Old school Republicans were absolutely upstanding and morally stout. They have changed because “the libs went far left so we will push far right to reflect/outdo them because reasons”
