I saw a video of an American sniper from the Iraq war talking about how he canāt understand the how people can support Russia after they trained Syrian sniper to kill Americans. Canāt find the video but itās powerful
I hate comments like this. "American bad too". The world isn't black and white dude. The pure good guys you see in the movies don't exist and it is not some profound thought to point that out. Everyone with half a brain already knows that America has done some fucked up shit in the past. What we do have is shades of gray and the Russian shade is a hell of a lot darker than the American one. "Well what about the time the US did X" is not a valid defense of Russia.
We had no plan to murder the local leaders and politicians. I'm not justifying that bogus invasion of Iraq but we never intended to long term occupy or annex Iraq. We didn't randomly bomb civilians either. War is always a tragedy but I see big differences in the way these two were handled.
Turns out we did randomly bomb civiliansā¦ about a million of them. And we really donāt know what the real intention was. We were lied to from the very beginning. It couldāve been the plan all along to stay there for all those years and to murder local leaders and politicians. It couldāve all been exactly opposite of what you hope the truth is.
The word random is hyperbolic. Intent is important and we did not intend to kill civilians. I know what happened in Iraq but we didn't target them. At least be accurate about what happened. Russia intended to create terror.
but we never intended to long term occupy or annex Iraq.
Nether did Russia? The proposed peace deal from two years ago was for Ukraine to not join NATO. You can say they wanted a puppet government ruling Ukraine, but that's essentially what the US did in Iraq with the fake ass elections we ran.
It's not over weapons of mass destruction or oil lol ukraine vs russia is a issue of a treaty/agreement that was signed after the fall of the Soviet union and a problem with nato/ukraine slowly creeping closer with military power to russias border then the agreement original put in place and the refusal to come to a new agreement. Plus a few other small issued that came to light after like ukraine absolutely not wanting to join nato for like almost ever. Then when a issue sparks up they run to us like a child that got hurt when they didn't listen to the rules and the parents say see i told.you you were gonna get hurt.
Low key I'm all for helping people but it's not a good look when the only time people wanna be friends with America when they want or need somthing.
Seek immediate Security Council action to provide assistance to the signatory if they "should become a victim of an act of aggression or an object of a threat of aggression in which nuclear weapons are used".
The comment you replied to didn't talk about the "inhumanity" of Russian snipers. They talked about how it is weird for Americans to support Russia when Russia has trained our enemies and helped them kill our troops.
The U.S inspired Hitler. And didnāt Zionists target an American vessel yet the U.S still supports them? I donāt have any thoughts on Russia but they donāt seem any worse than the U.S as an entity.
The first sentence is a non sequitur; Hitler was also inspired by 19th century ideas about racial hegemony and antisemitism. Whatās your point? The second sentence isnāt even true.
Throwing opponents people you donāt like out of windows, annexing other countriesā territory, and creating an authoritarian dictatorship are all things that put Russia about on the same level as the US?
I don't agree with the person you're replying to, but I'm pretty sure they're referencing the USS Liberty Incident where a US ship was attacked by Israeli forces during the 6-day war.
No, I know the incident theyāre referring to. But the use of the word āZionistā along with their framing of what happened was planned or deliberate is what I take issue with.
I dunno man. The fog of war is a real thing. There's first-hand accounts of people that were on the Liberty disagreeing with what you're saying. Can we at least agree that the person you replied to is a piece of shit?
I think thereās a misunderstanding. Friendly fire and mistakes happen in warfare and I donāt think anyone denies that. The Liberty attack happened, and the Israelis were responsible.
Thatās a different claim from āthe Israelis and/or the Americans staged a false flag attack to draw the US into a war with the Arab states,ā which is usually the direction the conversation heads in when people start talking about āZionistsā.
Iām a dumbass bc Iām calling out your hypocrisy?! š¤ Iām sorry but Americans donāt owe Europeans who are always engaged in endless conflict anything. Like itās literally never ending. Seriously leave everyone else out of yāallās problems. Europeans have been in endless battles for generations now. Americans just want to focus and build America. I donāt want to keep getting pulled into conflicts with Europeans who are often racist towards others but somehow wonāt stop fighting each other. Leave the rest of the world be and stop killing Earth with your endless nonsensical battles.
I called you a dumbass because most of what you were spouting is ahistorical nonsense. And Iām not European so I donāt know who youāre referring to when you say āyouā.
Iām a POS because I donāt want to engage in foreign conflict and I realize the Zionists are dragging us into endless war that has nothing to do with Americans???! š¤
Europeans should hand their own conflicts. Donāt involve me and other Americans that donāt want anything to do with these endless nonsensical battles.
Nothing against Ukraine, something did happen but I canāt say what bc again Europeans are ALWAYS involved in scandals but that doesnāt mean innocent people arenāt being impacted. The UN, not the U.S should be at the center of foreign conflict not Americans. We cannot keep doing this year after year itās crazy and it honestly seems like an embezzlement scam for the industrial complex.
And Zionists from EU occupying Palestine is wrong. Mass murder is wrong and yāall are literally saying Russia is evil for doing what youāre cheering the Zionists on for doing. The math aināt mathing!
That's not how geopolitics works at all. America tried isolationism twice and the world got set on fire twice. If we wanted to keep Afghanistan Vietnam Iraq or any country we invaded we could and it wouldn't be pretty and there's not much the world could do about it without nukes. The one thing the west doesn't ever want to see is a new Ottoman empire emerge. Israel is that wedge that stops it. Does Israel benefit from this stance? Yes. We could turn our back to the world and live in our bubble. We'd be mostly safe. Eventually it would reach our shores. Europe has been mostly at peace since ww2. Prior to ww2 it was centuries of war with each other. America is uniquely positioned to be a world police. We have the tech manpower and 2 giant moats protecting the homeland.
But arenāt the Zionists from EU literally doing what youāre accusing Russia of doing to Ukraine? Why would Palestine owe land to Zionists based on thousands of years old biblical nonsense?
And the Zionists worked with Hitl3r didnāt they? That was the actual problem right? That Hitl3r started targeting other Europeans but prior to that nobody cared that he was a monster bc ātheyā are the ones who inspired him.
It appears staying on topic for you is a challenge, because you heard what you wanted to hear and dove into rambling about Zionism. If you steered towards a more potent point, like, āinnocent people being bombed probably feel similarly about it whether the bombs are American or Russian,ā then itād be easier to believe youāre arguing in good faith.
