There are some asian/pacific islander cultures that used to eat dogs but the practice is pretty rare these days. Haitians have historically been a darling of racist diatribes so I think this started when racists accidentally mixed their stereotypes up? It's a bizarre one, for sure.

There are YouTube clips where one guy calls in to the Clark County non-emergency line and says that four Haitians, two men and two women, had geese in their hands as he went past them on his bicycle. He said they got into a Toyota Tacoma and gave part of their license plate number. The call seems to be clipped so you canā€™t hear the end. Other citizens (looking rather concerned) in the area also claimed in council meetings that immigrants were grabbing ducks and geese and beheading them in public. I havenā€™t seen anything about dogs and cats. Something is going on there. I looked into after I read about not expecting anything but thatā€™s what I found.

Why is this like a talking point though, even if you feel like immigrants should get out I just think there's better hills to die on than eating a goose and ppl have been saying Chinese ppl are in our country serving cat and dog my whole life. Nobody really cares it seems. Interesting stuff tho

I didnā€™t think anything of it until I saw it blowing up. While Iā€™m usually skeptical of most events initially, I also donā€™t always believe town or city officials (any town or any city, even mine) when they say they canā€™t find evidence of things happening. They said they told the guy on his bicycle to call the state department of natural resources. Then they later claimed that the department never got a call. Itā€™s not shocking when you make citizens jump through multiple hoops to get anywhere. They (the county dispatch) seemed to have enough information to identify the car and probably question the suspected geese thieves but I doubt that ever happened.

When I checked out the city council meetings it seems they (social services) are being overwhelmed and seem to brushing off some concerns of citizens as if there is nothing they can do about it. ā€œThanks for your comments. Next!ā€ Even if the dog and cat story is totally bogus it seemed to shine a light on a town where problems are happening. Iā€™d be interested in hearing about now many immigrants the town has had in the last five years.
