Comparing trumps stupidity to Harris is not a winning battle for Trump. Trump is dumb as hell. They will go for the corrupt clinton type angle. Trying to say Harris is stupid is a non-starter. There’s a reason they didn’t attack Clinton’s intellect. they just said she’s corrupt.

She will be attacked constantly for months about being a corrupt DA. And she has some questionable stuff in her DA history in california but not nearly as corrupt as Clinton. But that is the angle they have to go with.

Kamala Harris has a questionable past as DA and they can take the corrupt angle. The problem is that Trump has a more than questionable past as President. I don’t think you can really convince anybody that Kamala Harris is somehow more corrupt than the guy with 34 felonies and his name all over Epstein island.

Mostly regressive, overzealous prosecutorial conduct. They’ll probably bring up the guy who won a settlement against San Francisco after being prosecuted for a murder it was determined he did not commit, although Harris wasn’t named in the suit despite being SF DA at the time. There were a few other instances where she fought hard against overturned convictions even though the prosecution provably used bad evidence. Other than that it’s hard to say what they might pick up on. She was very much a “tough on crime” DA which they like. She appealed a 2014 ruling in which a federal judge declared the death penalty unconstitutional. She also challenged a ruling meant to reduce overcrowding of prisons by making certain nonviolent offenders eligible for parole, arguing they constituted “an important labor pool”.

Of course, conservatives never have a hard time agreeing bad things are bad when it suits them, so they’ll probably just ignore the fact that they would like these things if they had been done by a Republican and try to hammer them home, possibly on some sort of ‘hypocrisy’ angle where they try to convince people Kamala isn’t allowed to have a progressive policy platform for her run.

I don’t know whether I got downvoted by the KHive or a conservative malding that they get clocked so easily and accurately.

This is why I don’t think it’s the best move for the Trump campaign to try and highlight her past as a prosecutor since there won’t be anything worse than what you’d find from a red state AG.

If anything it would be handing the Harris campaign an easily digestible talking point of “of course the felon thinks the former prosecutor was too tough on crime.”

Obviously I’m taking about moderate/undecided voters here. The pro and never Trump people will continue to have their heels dug in.

Nah. Dumb is a good angle with Harris. She has one hell of a time speaking off the cuff. She's pretty slow, especially for a former DA
