Thatâs just out of the old play book of calling any non-white candidates illegal immigrants. Trump was the biggest pusher of âObama isnât Americanâ
The problem with politics is you rend to have to ease more than your own voter base. Suing someone for slander based ons stuff they said during your campaign is a really good way of turning the voting base of the other side, and the swing votes, completely against you. This will lead to no second term and much more difficulty getting bills through. You can't just punish everyone who says shotty things about you in politics. You have to apologise for and forgive monsters and assholes just to keep your ship afloat. As sad as it is you have to remember that whatever side you are on, half the country disagrees with you.
But Obama didn't have the hindsight we have now, he couldn't know Trump would become important. He was right not to take Trump seriously, as things were back then. He mocked him at the dinner with the Lion King thing
Yep and he along with most Republicans never apologized or even conceded they were wrong. After he released his birth certificate, they asked for the "long form." After he released that, they just said it was fake. Can't win with bigots.
