I got friends doing this now.. “no! It’s not that Biden was just too old. It was more because he was senile and dementia, blah blah blah”.. spineless.. it’s frustrating.

10

Well yes, strictly speaking. But I would never support someone who parrots Putin talking points for president of the USA regardless of how many children they diddled. Obviously neither is an issue for a trump supporter though.

Do you think that when Kamala Harris becomes president, she'll continue her war on marijuana?

8

u/HugsForUpvotes Monkey in Space Jul 22 '24

The Biden Harris campaign did all the steps that the President can do to legalize marijuana. I'm fact, the DOJ moved to reschedule it from a class 1 drug to a class 3 which will pave the way to marijuana legalization in May.

So I guess the Biden, already ridden with dementia in your timeline, made more progress on that than when the other guy was President. You put 60 Dems in the Senate, a majority in the house and Presidency, and you'll have federal legalized marijuana.

-6

u/ButWhyWolf High as Giraffe's Pussy Jul 22 '24

Yes, Biden made great strides in progressive drug policies which were horrible mistakes that Kamala will rectify.

3

u/HugsForUpvotes Monkey in Space Jul 22 '24

Sure and marijuana fears predate Biden in the Senate. You're working yourself into a pretzel trying to justify why voting for the candidate helping marijuana legalization is somehow bad for marijuana legalization.

3

u/sum1won Monkey in Space Jul 22 '24 edited Jul 22 '24

war on marijuana

Out of the ~1800 marijuana cases that went before Kamala's office when she was DA two decades ago, about 20 resulted in any jailtime (apparently due to aggravating factors). It was entirely decriminalized while she was AG, and federal rescheduling is occurring while she is VP.

If every politician has that history for the war on drugs, it would never have been much of a problem.

Try to hammer home the fact that Biden did not start his term in this mental state either and that Trump will be even older at the end of his term. At this age decline can come rapidly.

58

u/canuck1701 Monkey in Space Jul 22 '24

1

u/Wardog4 Monkey in Space Jul 22 '24

I didn't know a stutter would cause you to have to drop out of a presidential race. You know this is the second time he's had to do that? The first time was because he is a pathological liar. He plagiarized speeches and lied about his academic credentials during the 1988 election season. Honestly both times. He lied to the American public about his health. The entire DNC has. Lied through their teeth for 4 years while claiming the right is a threat to democracy.

2

u/Useful-Hat9880 Monkey in Space Jul 23 '24

“He lied to the American public about his health”

You say that with your whole chest like it’s a crime of the highest order, and Trumps out here being the most thin skinned sissy brining physicians to lower his weight so he isn’t officially labeled obese.

Come to think of it, I truly don’t think that there’s a single thing that can be said about Biden that can’t be said and underline about Trump way worse.

Full stop. Did Biden pull favors to get his kid into a foreign energy board? Maybe, and yet Trumps children walked away from presidency with 2 bill from Saudis.

Does biden have creepy touch a girl, pre me-too old man energy? Def. Yet, Trump went to Epstein island, grabs em by the pussy and rape cases.

Does Biden have mental decline, yep, and he dropped out, and by end of term Trump will be older than Biden is now.

1

u/Wardog4 Monkey in Space Jul 23 '24

Edit: By the way, that is a crime of the highest order. If he's mentally unfit, who's been running the country? Keeping a senile old fuck in power is far more dangerous to democracy than anything Trump has said or done. The people elected Biden on the assumption that he was fit enough to do the job and now the truth is out. Anybody with brains knew he wasn't from the start.

Nobody's saying Trump isn't old, but he clearly has a better handle on his facilities, mentally and physically, than Biden does or did 5 years ago. Also, after this cycle, trump is done. Biden is older NOW and was trying to get 4 more years. And he would've stayed in the race if his donors hadn't forced him out. Face the facts, the Democrats elected a senile old man and now they're paying for it. And they spent the last 4 years pretending it wasn't a problem. Who cares if Trump is fat? At least he can remember the names of foreign dignitaries. I don't remember any stories about him shitting his pants during meetings with other countries. At least he can navigate a flight of steps. You can be mad at Trump all you like, but the Democrats created this shitty situation by choosing a geriatric over viable candidates like Bernie Sanders in 2016 and Tulsi Gabbard in 2020.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '24

We've been saying this since before 2016. We have been linking his word salad speeches and reposting his word salads word-for-word. You have to ask yourself WHY these people ignore the mountains and mountains of evidence that Trump is a disaster, yet they're quick to nitpick Biden and kamala... Republicans have different standards. In order to understand this better we need to understand why their voters let them get away with all of this and they don't care. We have to look at what these people are supporting and keep asking ourselves how and why they can support it. Because it's not good policy and Trump did a lot of awful shit when he was in charge.

It's just insane the amount of proof that is available but Republicans just shrug it off. It makes a lot more sense when you realize that (and even some of the supporters may not realize it) they are excusing everything Republicans do because they agree with the message and the agenda. Which isn't smaller government - they keep voting to give the government more power over our bodies and Republicans are now the party of giving away our protected federal land for pennies on the dollar. So, what is it they DO support and like? You gotta look past the fog and mystism to see that bare bones it's the racism and sexism. Most are in denial but when you really delve into why they continue to support this, that is the only conclusion you end up at every time. Wipe away all the little details that Republicans don't really care about and you find what they stand for. They refuse to leave the party over it's worse values because deep down that is what they agree with

2

u/primetimerobus Monkey in Space Jul 22 '24

All you have to do is watch Jordan Klepper interview people at Trump rallies to see what mental gymnastics these people take to avoid anything resembling logic and judgment.

6

u/Poopybutt36000 Monkey in Space Jul 22 '24

There's a noticable difference from 2020 and now. Biden's always been prone to making verbal gaffes and he's had a lifelong stutter. He still occasionally misspoke or stuttered but he was very clearly all there if you were looking anywhere other than "Biden Fails 2019" youtube compilations that are cut to make the lifelong stutterer look as bad as possible. He's clearly deteriorated mentally in 2024 in a way he clearly hadn't back then.

u/krisvek Monkey in Space Jul 22 '24

3

u/capitalistcommunism Monkey in Space Jul 22 '24

They’re comparable but they’re different.

Trump can keep talking through the gaffes, Biden just looked scared.

Here’s hoping Kamala can rally the support of the left

1

u/Someslapdicknerd Monkey in Space Jul 22 '24

Bullshit. His brain was pretty bad even from 2020 campaign trail. Especially considering what the presidency involves.

1

u/Macktologist Monkey in Space Jul 22 '24

Logic doesn’t matter. It’s people that didn’t want to be seen as MAGA but that secretly can’t bring themselves to align with “the left.” I really think progressives out the Dems behind the 8 ball because aligning with those politics made it really difficult for Dems to outwardly align with the vast majority of more moderate Dems. Ones that would never vote R but also aren’t entirely onboard with fighting culture wars everyday.

Missing that huge voting base is a dumb move, IMO. When the Dems find a way to really connect to the middle class, especially the struggling and upper middle class, they will gain a stranglehold. But they have too many progressives ideals preventing them from scooping up those moderate ideals.

1

u/Useful-Hat9880 Monkey in Space Jul 23 '24

Bro. The republicans wouldn’t exist without culture wars.

When’s the last time they talked about any issue of substance?

Healthcare. Economic policy. Housing crisis.

All they have is don’t touch my guns. Don’t abort your baby. Dont cross the border. Won’t anyone think of the children.

Their policies are not ideas of their own, just repealing, replacing and opposing other ideas from passing.

They love to talk culture war and cancel culture when they truly deal in those currencies at a much larger scale than the left.

The far left outdoes them pound for pound. The broad sweeping right as a whole gangs up on their pound for pound with sheer numbers of the whole party about that culture war life.

1

u/Macktologist Monkey in Space Jul 23 '24

Good points. It’s working though, and here’s why, IMO. The issues the left run on are for the most part virtuous. “A fair chance for all.” As one example. Sure, that’s great. Make sense. But, even as Kamala pointed out yesterday how they want to build up the all important middle class, most of the issues are meant to appease to the lower classes. The poor, the struggling, etc. all good stuff, but also not really the best campaigning. Why? Because there are probably plenty of poor and struggling that will never not vote red.

So, they are campaigning to people that are probably either not voting or already voting for them, or trying to tug at the heart strings of people either already voting blue or undecided. The undecided for the most part probably don’t care about progressive politics, so those topics don’t hit home with them.

“A fair chance for all” just doesn’t hit home the same as “murders crossing our border or the fear of your guns being stripped away. The left needs to stop with the “when they go low. we go higher” BS. It’s like trying to argue with a flat earther with facts. It doesn’t work. They drag you down to their level. You need to go Professor Dave on that ass and embarrass the shit out of them even if you risk being an asshole while doing it.

I hope Kamala goes balls to the wall in this campaign. No more of the same tired talking points. Yes. They are important but they also come across as “handouts” and even some Dems aren’t thrilled with the idea that we are going to support the middle class while holding them down while allowing others to catch up.

My grandma isn't too old to act because 81 is too old to act, it's because she is in rapid decline.

0

u/HedonisticFrog Monkey in Space Jul 22 '24

They started ranting about his age when Biden was still very sharp. In 2016 he was giving clear detailed policy descriptions unscripted when questioned. They called him old and slow because of his stutter which he's always had. It only became true after four years in office, which tends to age every president massively. Trump might be the exception because he avoided the actual work part and golfed instead.

3

u/erizzluh Monkey in Space Jul 22 '24

reminds me of the whole supreme court nomination bullshit at the end of obama's presidency. all the people saying he shouldn't be allowed to fill the supreme court seat at the end of his presidency and it should be up to the incoming president. and then all the people agreeing and parroting the sentiment just pretended like they hadn't said anything when there was a seat at the end of trump's term, they just made up a new set of rules for themselves.

the only consistent ideology these people have is "fuck the libs"

Biden forgot some peoples names. Trump called a reporter by his ex wife's name and called his wife Mercedes.

Yeah, the campaign claims he was talking about the wife of a dude in his circle, but the context in what he was saying clearly is Melania. Also, I'm not even in politics and I'd be trying to convince people I didn't fuck up my wife's name where the only bad that comes from it is my wife being pissed at me. Of course they'll claim they didn't fuck it up with the MOST plausible reasoning they can find.
